Hi Everyone,I have an CR200 controller that worked perfectly until I recently split my system into an S1 and S2. I needed to split it because I bought a gen 3 sub and wanted to continue to use the CR200 and a Gen1 Play 5. After the split the controller, which is obviously on the S1 system, does everything it should except allow me to search for music. It will allow me to access the playlists, recommendations etc on each music service but not search them. I use Amazon Music and Tidal. I can not search on either music service. I have tried resetting the controller. Would anyone kindly be able to offer any suggestions on how I could fix this? Thank you
Grazie
A few years ago, I bought two PLAY5 (GEN1) speakers along with a Playbar, a SUB and three PLAY3 speakers. I have since added a Sonos Beam to my collection.Having now found out that my PLAY5 speakers are not compatible with the latest Sonos Apps and my only option to using the latest Sonos Apps (on my PC and phone) is to replace the PLAY 5 speakers, albeit with a 30% discount, I am not thrilled that having invested in Sonos most expensive speakers a few years ago and committing to develop my Sonos collection, my PLAY5 speakers are now essentially obsolete.I decided that for now, I am not going to take up the costly option of buying 2 new PLAY5 speakers (even with the 30% discount) because:There is nothing to say I won’t find myself in the same position a few years down the line. As a result, I am considering getting rid of my entire Sonos system and investing in speaker systems from other companies that won’t become obsolete in a few years. The problem I now have is that whenever I laun
I’m hoping to replace my Playbar with an Arc. The Playbar is currently wall mounted under my TV so I was hoping to be able to use the existing holes in the wall for routing cables, etc. I understand I’ll need the Arc-specific mount, and I’ve also read through the specs and suggestions saying that due to the Arc’s upward firing speakers a minimum distance of 4 inches is recommended between the bottom of the TV and the top of the Arc when mounting below the TV. The Playbar isn’t mounted immediately touching the TV like some I’ve seen, but it’s not as far away as the Arc should be -- currently there’s about 1.75” between the bottom of the TV and the top of the Playbar. I’m guessing due to the Arc’s different form factor, if I mount over the same holes, it’ll give me a bit more distance, but not the recommended 4 inches. I understand it’s a recommendation and not something set in stone, but I’m just trying to get a sense of whether I should plan ahead to move the mount down a few inche
Does the Sonos ARC send TrueHD to the rear surrounds (Ones)??? Or does it only send Dolby Digital?Trying to decide if I keep the ARC or simply get a Denon AVR-X3600 instead to ensure great sound quality Thanks I’m advance everyone
Just moved in to our new house and my wife has set up the Sonos system in her name and email address. Now when I try to login it won’t let me use my own details, it says it must be hers, meaning it’s her Spotify etc rather than my own.Is there a way of solving this please?
How can I play the sound from my Vizio TV through my Sonos One speaker without buying/using a sound bar? The TV is in a small room where I don’t have space for a sounder.
So firstly, I’m glad that support for LPCM finally arrived for Arc :)Now my problem is: that the LPCM content seem to be significantly quieter than Dolby 5.1 or Atmos content. The latter plays at about 1/5 of the volume level, while LPCM from Apple TV or Nintendo Switch need to be turned up to at least ½ of the volume. This is problematic at night, for example watching new episode of Mandelorian (Atmos) after playing some games (LPCM) because it wakes everyone in the house before I remember to turn the volume down.I wonder if there’s any way this could be corrected in next update or possibly setting could be available for different volume level for different type of input?
Can I power 2 speakers and a subwoofer on 1 Sonos Amp?
Having read many posts regarding the DTS issues with the Beam I have upgraded my Blu-ray player to the Samsung which can be set to encode DTS audio to Dolby Digital. I thought I was good to go, however…..I have played a few discs now and with each one at some point during the movie the audio goes altogether. The Sonos app reports that it is receiving Dolby Digital, but the only way to get audio back is to rewind slightly which seems to restore the audio. To say I am frustrated with this is an understatement. I have sent an email to the Sonos CEO but as yet no response. So my questions are, had anyone else experienced this anomaly? Is it my Beam which is at fault or is this an issue which cannot be resolved?I would be grateful for any suggestions or comments, and would be interested to hear if anyone has had similar issues with the Xbox One X which I understand also can recode DTS to DD.Many thanks, John .
I just bought a new Move to go with my Epson 2150 projector for outdoor cinema and sports. When trying to output the audio from the projector to my Move, the projector can see the move in available Bluetooth devices, but when I try to connect I keep getting the error "failed to connect to the Bluetooth device". My JBL Flip is able to connect to this projector. And my phone is able to connect to the Move.So both devices clearly work with bluetooth, but they just don't seem to be able to work together.Epson requires A2DP bluetooth spec (I believe a copyright protection element for video entertainment?), but I can't find anything in Sonos support that explicitly says that Sonos supports it.Help, my outdoor big screen football games need better (but portable) sound! Thanks!
Is it worth the money to get a sub
I have recently placed an order for the Arc and Sub and I have nothing showing in my account for orders. Order was placed on 11/15/2020 and it is now 11/24/2020. I received a confirmation email and when searching through the email it still shows back ordered. What is the expected ship date of my order? Additionally, the Arc and Sub now have an additional $100 discount offer that I missed by a few days. Since my order is still processing in back order, can I receive this $100 discount? And if so what do I have to do to receive this?
I have a SONOS Beam and 2 Play 1s in my kitchen but want to boost the sound with a bit more (undistorted) volume. I need to retain the Beam for the medium sized TV but in replacing the Play 1s, would a single Play Five suffice or do I need two of them. Kitchen is 7x5 metres with a vaulted ceiling.
I’ve done a few in-wall and ceiling speaker installs using Sonos Amps. Except for when there is an obvious stereo configuration (like speaker on the left wall and right wall relative to a seating area), I’ve been using the Dual Mono option which seems to sound better. I just recently did an outdoor zone that needed some additional power. So I’m using a Sonos Port + third-party power amplifier. It doesn’t seem like the Port has the mono option, and neither does my power amplifier. I’m also using the coaxial output to the amplifier, so I don’t think I could use a third-party mono converter device without having to compromise on resolution. Thought I’d see if anyone has any other ideas for workarounds. Or perhaps someone from Sonos could weigh in if mono has been considered for the Port’s roadmap?
Hello Sonos team. To get right to the point, I have a very specific scenario that meets me quite often where I set up ultra high-end set ups for clients with systems consisting of two separate monoblock amplifiers for their speakers, (one for each channel,) or four separate monoblocks, (two for each channel. Sometimes even more.) I always upgrade their system to connect over WiFi using the Sonos port, simply because it’s the most ideal of your line of products in terms of what it allows my clients system to do. One of the reasons why clients want a port for each channel is to retain symmetry in the look of their system, as well as not having to have a little Sonos port sitting in between two massive amplifiers, as some people simply have their amps resting an inch above the floor. Giving them the ability to switch between either having their speaker play as left/right or mono using only their phone when one Sonos port is used for each channel would be incredibly helpful to these situa
I just upgraded to iOS14 and tvOS14 yesterday, and was watching a 4K movie from the Apple TV 4K. My internet has been struggling lately with 4K bandwidth requirements, so I thought I’d Airplay it over from my phone because I knew that Airplay was limited to HD streams. All was well, the picture was good (but I don’t think 4K), but was surprised to see that my Arc under “About My System” said “Dolby Atmos”, without the “(DD5.1)”.Nothing on Apple’s site seems to indicate that this was coming. Or am I imagining things and this was the way it always was?
Hi All,I’m having difficulty getting my speakers working together and was hoping someone could offer any advice on what I’m doing wrong My setup consists of: Beam2 x Play:1’sSub (Gen 2) All of the speakers have been added through the app individually and I’ve confirmed working but what I have found is that I can’t add a stereo pair to the Beam and I can’t add the Sub to the Beam either. What I can however do is create a stereo pair in room 1, and add the beam to this and create a another room 2 and put the beam in here. I can play music to all speakers by then selecting both rooms but what I can’t do is switch to TV and pick the 2 rooms as all I see is the beam. The way I would think it should work is I add the beam to a room and I then add the stereo pair and the sub to the same room but this just returns an unable to add error, try again message. Any ideas? Leo
Absolutely loving the exclusive Sonos radio stations. Sunset Fuzz, cocktail hour and rare grooves providing some excellent tunes to accompany lockdown vibes. what I’d love is to get the track listing to be able to make a playlist from it and listen to it again at my own leisure. Possibly when having breakfast cocktails, for example, or whilst checking Twitter for the 12,000 time when I should be writing that report that was due last Monday. sonos - super work - lovely update. much love pip
So with the 12.2 update and LPCM, I was hoping to solve my issue with DTS sound from 4K blu-rays. I am using an Arc/Sub/Play Ones system on an LG C9 with a Panasonic UB820 player. Last night I messed around with some settings on the TV and the blu-ray player, changing to PCM, and still only showed Stereo 2.0 from my Sonos system. I was under the impression I should see multi-channel now? Does anyone know which settings in particular I need to change or what I may be doing wrong?
Hey Guys. I have a Sub Gen 2 and Beam for about 6 months. If I switch to Netflix or DVR (sometimes even just changing the channel) my audio cuts out. When this happens, I need to go to my TV menu and choose “use Tv speakers for audio output”. It switches to the TV and the back to Sonos. My TV is X900F Series - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV with HDR
I have a Sony XH90 connected via ARC to the Sonos Arc. The system has two Play:1 rears and a sub. I have started to get audio drops outs on all sources. It’s only for a microsecond and seems to happen on the Arc and Sub mainly. Everything is WiFi. It was working fine, but I noticed the app was jumping between mine and my sons account. I have transferred ownership of everything back to me in case that was causing an issue. the TV is the only source and is connected with an 4K certified cable for HDMI 2.1The diagnostics reference is 1828291275 if someone is able to take a look to see what may be happening.edit: I have set the TV output to PCM instead of DD and will see if that helps. Will the Arc still be fully producing DD Atmos with PCM? edit2: TV was set to PCM and sound not cutting out. Netflix was set to DD and cutting out. Now seems OK since setting all sources to PCM (new diags ref:2109859000) many thanks
Has anyone connected their Sonos system to a model railroad? I have a a bunch of MTH and Lionel train engines that have a many sound effects. Was thinking it would be awesome if there was a way to connect the trains to my Sonos system. The trains are connected to wifi and bluetooth so I’m sure there is a way. Just curious if anyone has tried this. These are $500 -$1000 dollar train engines each with excellent speakers in them but would be cool to get full surround sound with my subs etc. for whole model layout.
Hello. I currently have a Sonos Connect Amp (S1) connected to my Onkyo Receiver which is in turn connected to my outside passive speakers.how to I update this zone to S2? Sonos Port is 500$ and I don’t need external audio source AND I don’t need amplification. I just need my outside speakers to become a Sonos S2 zone. Is there a way to to this? If Sonos Port is the only way, then shame on you Sonos! There has to be another way right? Thanks for your help.Frederic.
New Beam. Trying to set it up using my Apple tablet with S1 Controller. Controller finds the beam but will not connect during attempt at bluetooth connection. Tried also with my IPhone-worse result. I’m tired and I want to go to bed, Any help out there?
