Does Sonos have an option to sort playlists alphabetically or by artist etc also is there an option to find duplicates in a playlist? As playlists can be created over many years it would be extremely helpful to have a feature like this?
If I set up two Play:1 speakers as surround speakers to an Amp - can I then use Airplay 2 to play music over them? I think this is the case?My question is will the Amp always play music out of speakers hard-wired to it, when playing out of the surround speakers? Thanks
Hi, I connected my turntable and cassette deck via my amp to a Connect device after changing rooms. It was working about 2 months ago and I haven't changed any of the connections since. All I have done in the interim is updated the controller and the Connect software however now when I select 'Line In' it tells me to 'connect a device to a Line incapable Sonos product'. I have unplugged and re-inserted all connection but still no joy. Any ideas on what is wrong? All are S1 devices.
When using the SONOS Move on Bluetooth, it would be a useful facility to be able to access playlists in the app to play music. As you can’t currently it means duplicating playlists in whatever streaming service you use. I dont think it would be too difficult to implement this change.
Where did the pause all devices button go when upgrading from s1 to s2? Should be an option in system settings.
I have a Sonos Amp (latest gen) hooked up to a pair of Mordaunt Short speakers. Most of the time it all sounds great however when I’m watching films and have it at about 50% volume explosions in films sounds very distorted and clipped. This didn’t happen when I used the same speakers with my marantz amp and optical feed from the TV.I’m using eArc to feed the Sonos Amp.Any ideas? It really spoils a lot of action films. Thanks
Have anyone been experimenting with DJing with the Sonos systems. And I don't mean just hitting a playlist and letting it run. Like activity controling volume, what part of the song is playing, having 2 songs playing on individual speakers at the same time, playing around with treble and bass. I'm trying to see if I can throw in a mixer also to have a legitimate session, now Sonos has told me that running 2 tables(turntables) and then throwing in a mixer will cause to much latency. But I was thinking hardlineing a iPad or something into a speaker and using one of the various DJing app to possibly get some mixing elements into it. My System: 2x Play:1 with the physical buttons and a last gen play:3 , I chose the music listening experience instead of TV because I'm currently a college student also share your own systems to. KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS, IDEAS , OR SHARE ANY OF YOUR EXPERIMENTS WITH THE SONOS
Hii have a Sony Android TV with Sonos arc connected to eARC . I loose the audio on TV and that happens frequently and I need to do a reset of my TV to get the audio back on the soundbar. During this time I can play audio on the Arc using other sources for example audio Over airplaycan someone pls help with issue?
Quick question. Just getting everything setup and would like to understand one thing with respect to Apple Music. Assume I’m an Apple Music Subscriber and I’ve got it all setup correctly in Sonos S2.Here is the question:Within Apple Music, I have a song “downloaded” for offline listening. Inside the Sonos app, if I play that song, will it stream it from my iPhone to the Sonos device? Or will it stream it from the Apple Music server? Same question but lets say for an entire playlist. A playlist that I’ve created inside Apple Music. If I have told Apple Music to download the entire playlist to my iPhone, what will sonos do when I ask it to play that playlist? From within Sonos App.I’m actually hoping that for downloaded songs on my iPhone it still streams it from the Apple Music server. That way it won’t burn up my battery on my iPhone and will instead offload it to the device for streaming. It should be a choice I suppose. That way you could decide for various conditions what works best
Do a google search on <Sonus support ****>. I actually was stupid enough to believe your company was top notch, not, 1.4 rating. Lots of complaints. I’m going to sledgehammer all my sonus products to bits, place in a pile, douse with lighter fluid, light on fire while taking a video of it all and post it on SM sites and tell the world your products are a pile of xxxx. I’ll make sure to send you a personal copy.Edit: Offensive language removed
S2 problem . The newly downloaded S2 controller keeps dropping my Play:5 device. I can't control the music in my house anymore. I've already been conned into upgrading to the new Play:5 the day before Sonos backtracked by saying they would support older kit. We also have a Play:3 and that is not a problem. Sonos, I love the system but NOT the customer support. There are so many comments here about the failure of the S2.
I'm adding a Rega Planar 1 turntable to my Sonos system. Could I get better sound using my own amplifier and Port vs. just the Amp?
Having traded up to a Port from a Connect which had an optical output to my receiver, would using a coax to optical converter lose quality? If so should I just used the analogue inputs, or is digital always the better choice? Any thoughts?
I updated this week to the 12.01 S2 patch and things went to hell. TV sound only works sometimes. Neither LG remote nor AppleTV remote can control the TV volume anymore - previously both worked fine. Sonos S2 app tells me it can’t find the ARC connection between Arc and TV, but it’s there and I can hear sound, and yet app keeps telling me to connect it and enable ARC output of TV lol. Music is totally normal. Everything was fine until I updated the latest version of the software yesterday. Further Sonos’ instructions to setting up LG remote and AppleTV remotes are both outdated and reflect neither (1) 2020 CX line of LG OLED nor (2) S2 App workflow.
If I set an alarm in the Sonos app, when the alarm turns on, I expect to see a Sonos screen on my device that allows me to snooze the alarm or switch it off. This only happens intermittently, is there a reason why? I am on v 10.5.2.
I have had my Arc hooked to my OLED 65BX for a few days now and really pleased with the system - last couple of days i have noticed that when I sometimes switch a channel, that the volume is very very loud - anyone any ideas what I am doing wrong please?
I recently purposed the sonos amp but I am wondering if it was the right move. So my set up - Ive got a living room with five speakers / sub with the speakers already in the ceiling (wired to an amplifier). I recently purchased the port to run those five speakers and its been working great. I also have two ceiling speakers in my master bedroom that are hard wired to the same location as the other give. The problem ive run into is my receiver only is a 5.1 so I cannot run the two in my bedroom which I definitely want to do. So, I bought the sonos amp for those two speakers but it wasn’t cheap and might be overkill? I was wondering - would I be better off buying a new high end 7.1 receiver and just running all of the speakers off the receiver via the port?
Published 5/10/20 Exciting things are happening at Sonos. They have just announced the June 10, 2020 release of a much anticipated addition to their family of Home Theater speakers. That being the Sonos Arc with Dolby Atmos. An obvious question is how will the Arc fit into the Sonos line-up apart from the fact that it is capable of bringing the Dolby Atmos experience to home theater entertainment? Hopefully the chart below will answer some of those questions. As you review the chart keep in mind that those points highlighted in blue are footnoted. The Sonos Amp has been added to this group; although not technically a speaker, it can be used in Home Theater to power 3rd party speakers for left/right front channels or Sonos in-wall (left/right) architectural speakers by Sonance. Doing so it approximates the Center channel referred to as a “phantom center”. It can also be used to drive a pair of 3rd party speakers (typically book shelf or in-ceiling) as surrounds. The Bass on the Arc sounds terrible has anyone found a solution for this.
I recently upgraded to S2, trying to get sub and rears connected and they disappear. Looking at my system, I get “?” Vs the items. I have deleted and reset everything a few times, please advise
The volume of my spotify music is fluctuating up and down intermittently on its own. The volume of my Apple TV is also dong the same thing from time to time. To my knowledge I do not have any Alexa enabled devices enabled on my system. I cannot find the cause. I have a complex whole house system made up of many Sonos components. Please help, this is very frustrating. Thank you!
Hello to everybody,I’m interested in adding a turntable in my existing Sonos setup.Currently I have Arc + Sub + 2xOne in my living room.Due to space constrains I will put the turntable in my bedroom in which I don’t have any speaker or stereo system. With this in mind, I’m still a bit confused if I need to go with a port or a sonos 5.Taking into account that, primarely, I want something to stream the vinyl in my living room, I think the port should be the best option, but if I will go with the Five, I will be able to add also a good speaker in the bedroomWhich will be the best solution in your opinion? Please add the reason of your answer. Thanks
Hello Sonos Community, my apologies if this gets asked often. I plan to purchase the Sonos Arc, a Gen 2 sub, and two Sonos One SLs for a surround sound setup. I understand the Sonos Arc supports Dolby Atmos but not DTS. Does this refer only to the surround sound function or does it mean no audio support at all for DTS and I would only hear silence when trying to watch something mastered with DTS rather than Dolby. Let me explain further as I've had difficulty finding an answer online; I have a 4k tv with an eARC port, and a Sony 4k blu-ray player. Warner Brother's Tenet recently came out on 4k disc with DTS audio. If I were to play the disc with the setup described above and Sonos products, what will I hear? I know it won't be surround sound but will it just be silence or a basic sound minus surround sound effects? Thank you for taking the time to explain this to me. 🙂
Since buying a Beam I can no longer stream music to my Apple TV in different room. I can select Apple TV from airplay menu but get no sound. Screen mirror works for images but not sound. Music streams to Sonos but not the Apple TV. Have restarted Apple TV, Phone and Router and still not working. Any advice would be great.
We have had a Sonos beam connected to our Samsung TV for a couple of weeks now. Until today, if you adjusted the volume it displayed on the TV with + or - however today this has disappeared. The volume still changes but there is no actual display. We have made no changes to the set up other than to turn off the loudness setting. How can we get it to display again?
