Smart home integrations

I have about 12 Sonos speakers - and all of them are connected to SonosNet - except for my Move (which must use Wi-Fi).  Whenever I play music - even if I’m not using the Move - as soon as motion is detected on my Ring cameras, the music will stop and I have to manually press play.  Most of the solutions I read here were to ensure at least one speaker was hard-wired to router (4 of my speakers are) and rebooting each speaker so that it joins SonosNet.  And that’s what I’ve done.  Still no luck.  Any ideas?

I have a Sonos Beam along with sub and surrounds. I had long been frustrated that I couldn’t default my Apple TV to play through my Sonos system. It would default to television speakers, which do run through my Sonos system, but not the optimized sound. I could select the speakers through temporary audio, but I had to keep going back and re-selecting it. Finally, I was told I could add my Sonos to Home Kit. So I added it to my Living Room room, and boom… when “Living Room” was set as default speakers, I was getting the full-on Sonos perfect audio. Well, my son happened to notice the light on the HomePod staying on and unplugged it. I realized this when I suddenly had no audio!Well, I plugged it back in, and since then, if “Living Room” is my default audio output, it goes through the Home Pod itself. I tried removing the Sonos system and re-adding to Home Kit, but no luck. It still defaults to the measly little Home Pod, leaving me to change default to TV speakers and then switch tempor

I have both a sonos s1 system and a Sonos s2 system. All the connected S1 components show up on IFTTT but not the S2 components. How do I get both the S1 and the S2 components to show up on ​​​IFTTT

I’ve read online that older Sonos devices (without Airplay2) will not appear appear in Homekit.  However, once you add a single Airplay2 compatible Sonos device, it will act as a bridge, enabling all Sonos devices to appear in Homekit.I have a house full of older Sonos devices that don’t support Airplay2 (but all are S2 compatible).  And then I have two devices that DO support Airplay2 - a Sonos Move, and an Ikea Symfonisk.  The Move and the Symfonisk appear in Homekit, but none of the legacy devices are there, which contradicts what I’m reading online.Hoping someone here can tell me if what I’ve read is incorrect, or if something is wrong with my setup.Thanks 

Why is it nessary to have an Apple Music account to be able to control Sonos from apple devices and siri?

Hello, I`ve build an integration for Sonos for my own voice controlled smart home system.I`ve used the Control API for that… now I would like to queue tracks / playlists from Spotify. Can anyone give me a hint how to do that…? I`ve already setup a Spotify integration, that enables me to search Spotify and get tthe item-id etc. But how can I queue those tracks from Spotify to my Sonos player? Thanks Carl

I’ve read articles that say it does and doesn’t have support for HomeKit. Not AirPlay… HomeKit. They’re not the same thing. 

Hi, For those of you who are looking to try and control Sonos from Siri I thought I’d stick up how I managed to do it with help from a couple of articles that this one simply glues together. I wanted to play a radio station without having to click on anything so I did the following. This assumes you have set up the radio station you want to play as a favourite. Go to IFTTT.com and set up a user. Create an applet with a Webhook and name it something like play_radio_station_name - just remember what you called it. Then for the ‘Then’ bit select Sonos log in and select Play Favourite. Select the radio station and where you want it to play. Save and name your applet. Now from the home screen click into your Applet and click on the web hooks logo. Then click ‘Documentation’. Enter into the URL where is says event your name from step 2. Down below where it has the CURL - copy everything from https to the end of the request. This will include your applet trigger name and your private key. Now

I have had nothing but problems with using Google Home and Sonos since Google lost to Sonos in court the beginning of this year.  I can’t get my sonos speakers to properly respond to voice commands given to google home.  I can get the sonos speakers to work using the touch screen which is not very convenient.  On one of my google home max devices it will adjust the sonos tv speaker volume when I ask google to adjust the volume on the home device.  I have used them together for nearly two years and it is quite frustrating.  I have tried everything - disconnecting, resetting, uninstalling, reinstalling, swearing, praying, medication, etc and nothing works.  Anybody having luck fixing these problems.

I have been on the phone with Sonos support and Samsung support in order to deauthorize a connection I made from Samsung Smartthings to Sonos. It seems that Smartthings keeps the authorizations even after deleting all the speakers from Smartthings. This means that if you connect to one Sonos account you are stuck with it forever.There are no options from the Smartthings side to reset the connection, and there is not indication of this relationship from the Sonos side. I am trying to avoid creating a new smartthings account.. is there are way forward?  

Maybe I’m wrong here, but seems year ago the Sonos API had a “Speak Text and Resume” option, so back then in my SmartThings days, I could have Sonos speak a TTS alert and then it’d continue playing music where it left off. I’m now on Hubitat, but I believe this feature has gone away altogether. Am I wrong about that?Is there any way to get Sonos to resume playing a song after it’s interrupted by a TTS request?

Hi,My setup is as follows:1 x Sonos One in “Bathroom”1 x Sonos One in “Bedroom”1 x Sonos One in “Nursery Room”1 x Sonos One in the “Office”1 x Sonos ARC, Sonos SUB (3rd Gen) and 2 x Sonos SL in the “Living Room”, where I have my TV, which also has an Apple TV 4K (2nd Gen) plugged in to it. All rooms have Philips Hue lights as well. The name of the rooms are set up as stated in the quotation marks. Up until now, I have used Google Assistant to send voice commands and it has been working OK, with the exception of not being able to control my Apple TV with it, obviously. I just got a HomePod Mini as a present, which I have placed in the Living Room, same place and want to be able to use it as a voice command interface, to for example, “Hey Siri, play music in Living Room” or “Hey Siri, play music in Bathroom”. Due to my current home set up i use both goggle and Alexa voice assistance.my question isCan I set these speakers up as rears and activate one speaker with Google and the other with Alexa or can you only have one voice assistant in the whole setup therefore meaning I could buy a one and a one SL and use these instead

Hi everyone, I’m considering buying a Sonos One, but before I want to be sure that I would be able to use it without any issues. I would like to control it using the cast feature of Google. I saw on the internet that I can embed the Sonos One in the Google Home app, will it mean that the cast feature will work ? Here is a screenshot of the cast feature. Hi Guys. Firstly, I tried to get this problem answered by Apple, but get nothing but the runaround from their support. While this appears to be a Home App issue, maybe one of the more technical people can help as it is also Sonos-related. I have a mix of HomePod Minis and Sonos Airplay-2 speakers scattered throughout the house. Some rooms only have HomePods, some rooms have only Sonos and some contain both. I want the ability to create a group that I can reference as a single entity and contains only the devices I select - for example, when I play music in a room that contains both Sonos and HomePod Mini, I only want the Sonos to play. Hence the need to be able to chose and pick which speakers are in the 'group'. (The HomePod’s are primarily deployed to provide intercom functionality, speakers in places where a Sonos speaker would be overkill, such as the two garages, and provide voice commands for other Homekit accessories.) I believe the Home app used to have the ability to create gr

I have a Sonos Amp connected to a turntable. Sonos One in kitchen. Primary purpose of getting the system was for the ability to listen to records in both spaces. The nice thing is, busy cooking and record ends, quick voice command to go to Spotify playlist.However, I can't seem to find a voice command to change it back to the line in for source when I want to go back to play a record. Is the only way to change via the app? HUGE flaw in the system if so and should be a developer priority. Quick search shows topics looking for this for over four years.  May even consider returning and building a traditional multiroom system instead.

Do any existing Sonos products support the 802.15.4 protocol also used by Zigbee compatible products?If that were true then Sonos through a firmware update could make those products compatible with the Matter project leveraging Thread.

Can I use Google mini to control my Sonos PLAY 1 speaker?  I’ve followed all instructions, downloaded the apps, etc but can’t seem to figure it out.  Is there a special command after Ok/Hey Google to have it turn on my Sonos speaker so that it plays the local radio station it’s set on?

Hello  as the title says, I’ve added my arc to HomeKit, have restarted everything, but it’s showing as not playing no matter what I do. Any ideas? 

We have just recently revamped our home network, per belowMain-LAN (192.168.100.0/24): Main Windows computers where I have sonos app installed. My iphone also connect to this LANIOT (192.168.107.0/24): For all of our smart things: Locks, Lights, AppleTV and Sonos OneI have read a few thread about how to configure the firewall to allow Sonos to be discovered.However, with the EdgeRouter 6P, I am quite new to the firewall rules but the basicsCould someone point me to the right direction?Thank you very much

I use my Sonos system in my smart home and it would be very useful to be able to know whether the Sonos Move is currently lying on its charging base or somewhere else.Sadly, I couldn’t find a way to do so through the API or something.Was someone able to do such a thing ?Thank you :)

I’ve loaded my library into the My Cloud Home (MCH), I’ve got MCH as a music service in the Sonos app.  Everything appears to be fine, but I can only play one or two songs before I get “Unable to play '[song title]” - the connection to My Cloud Home was lost" The MCH is plugged into my router, as is my Boost.  Sonos works fine playing from my computer, Spotify, Sonos Radio, etc etc….just won’t play reliably from My Cloud Home.  I’ve searched the net, and this site, and it’s not an uncommon problem, but I can’t see where anyone solved it.  Any ideas?

I have a VPN set up in my home so I can remote in and. . . well, it's not really important what I'm using it for. Has anyone had any success connecting to their home VPN with a Sonos speaker? I would love to be able to buy one for my office and have it connect to my music library at home. Searching old posts did not see any queries about the matter before. Thanks.

I’ve tried multiple times to connect my Sonos system to Apple Home on both my ipad and iphone and it always fails. Home is able to detect my Sonos system (Arc, Sub and surrounds) but when I select it, the Home app continually gives the error "Unable to  add accessory. Home couldn't connect to this accessory" I've tried resetting all my Sonos products and after that's complete, the error persists. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm able to Airplay to my Sonos system from an Apple device but I can't add to home to enable Siri. Google Assistant is hopeless in NZ and I've found Alexa is error prone. Siri just works so I'd like to connect to Apple Home. 

I suspect this may have been discussed, but I will bring it up again as its something CI Dealers discuss on the regular, and a category which has been criminally neglected.Sonos really needs a 1U height, 17” wide 4 zone port with rack ears. It can easily retail for $1800, and Installers would use them every day of the week rather than stacking Ports with multiple ethernet cables, wall warts, etc.Stacking multiple Ports in a rack is a mess, even when you have a rack face. They look great in a Living room, or on a traditional hifi rack, but its ultimately a consumer level product, and an Installer friendly option is severely lacking.NAD has a great one for BluOS, and it just looks like a blank rack face. Same with Heos.Best part is, no retail cost savings are required. This would sell for $1800 all day long.
