Can other people come into my home and use their music app on their smartphone and connect to my sonos speakers?
Hi, I have recently brought a new Samsung Q70 series TV and a Sonos beam.I have been though all of the setup and got it working so I can play the tv sound through the beam. My question is how do I disable the beam when I am just watching tv and don’t want the sound coming through the beam. I only really wanted the beam to use while watching movies and Netflix style shows. every time I switch the audio Settings back on the tv it diverts straight back to the beam. any ideas ?
We have a small house so I was looking at one or two Sonos Ones to pair with my Beam for TV but then be able to separate them for general music listening in separate rooms or on the balcony - is this easy to do and would you recommend with one or two One’s
I have a "good morning" homekit scene that comes on when I say “Hey, Siri, morning”. It also activates audio playback on my Sonos speaker in the garage via AirPlay. I have three (3) Apple TVs. Since TvOS 14 the AppleTv turns on the Basement Apple TV. If I switch the TV off again, which puts the AppleTv into stand-by mode, the audio playback is also stopped. Before TvOS 14 the TV didn't turn on when I controlled my Sonos speaker via HomeKit.Does anyone else have the problem and know how to solve it?
I moved into a house with Sonos speakers in each room. But have no instructions. I have a small tablet fixed to the wall where I should be able to control it. But after downloading the app on my phone and trying all I know and understand I can’t get connected. can any one help? thanks mezzabeth
Can you use sonos arc to show cameras on TV with Alexa? I have blink cameras.
I know this might be an empty conversation but wanted to throw it out there. Sonos bought Snips Voice Assistant Service more than a year ago and we haven’t heard or seen anything come of it. While I can put up with Alexa (it works about 25% of the time) I would really LOVE and prefer something that is focussed on music management oriented usage. Any thoughts, updates, rumors or ideas.
This is so frustrating spending so much money last month for the most up to date equipment and not having it work. It did at first but for the last week the S2 app can't connect to the Arc, Sub, or one of the Sonos One SL. The app only finds one of the One SLs. That's it. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, reset each device and the router, tried an ethernet cable. WTF
I’ve seen a few older topic’s saying Sonos is currently not doing anything. But perhaps over time things do change. I was curious if there are any plans that somebody from Sonos or in the community knows of to have native integration between Sonos and Philips Hue lights?I currently see there are third party apps who offer it, but am a bit hesitant to allow third party apps access to something like this. With Philips Hue and Sonos popularity it would be great if both could do something like this. And make me feel more at ease if it came from the actual producers of the hardware then a third party.
I have a Beam + Sub + 2 Surround speakers (Sonos Ones). My TV (with its Beam) is installed in a lift cabinet. When the TV is off, the TV and the Beam are lowered deep inside that cabinet. Since the voice assistant defaults to using the Beam’s microphone and speaker, it becomes difficult if not impossible to use Alexa when the TV is off, buried in my lift cabinet. Having two Sonos Ones sitting there, each capable of providing Voice Assistant function but disabled by default is quite frustrating. Is there a way, in a surround configuration, to select the microphone and speaker that the Voice Assistant uses rather than defaulting to the Beam?
Can you group Sonos Ones in stereo with Sonos Beam Sound bar?
I have several Sonos products including a pair of Play 1s with which I am happy. If I want to include voice control what do I have to do ?
Hi,I will send the below text to Philips, but I would like to check with the Sonos users here to confirm if the below will work and how they have set up their configuration. Any comments based on experience would be greatly appreciated.Regards,MIBUKBefore I buy the Hue HDMI Sync box with the Hue gradient light strip for my TV, I have 2 questions. Hopefully, you can answer them.“1. I have a Sony X950G TV which supports Dolby Atmos, HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision. It’s connected to a Sonos Playbar which is connected to the TV via an optical cable. I have an Apple TV 4 4K, Nintendo Switch, a TIVO cable box and PS3 connected to the TV via HDMI. 2. The only change I plan to make in the near future, is to upgrade the Playbar to the Sonos Arc, which receives sound from the Sony TV’s HDMI eArc port. Can you confirm that the above two setups will work with the Philips HDMI Sync box and gradient light strip in terms of video and sound? Also, the HDMI cables all work, but is there a minimum standard
I am going to buy either a Move or a Five as my first Sonos speaker. but eventually plan on having several. It appears that both will allow me to set up my Dot or Mini with my Spotify account so that I can just say to the Dot or Mini play x and the music will come from my Sonos speaker (i.e., the Sonos will be my default speaker). Am I correct in this?I also would like the Dot or Mini to respond through my Sonos speaker for all responses. For example, if I ask what the temperature is, it would respond through the Sonos speaker. It appears neither the Dot nor the Mini will do that, but it is hard to be sure from reading/viewing reviews. Will all responses for the Dot or Mini be able to come from the Sonos speaker?Given those criteria which would do what I want, the Dot or the Mini? Am I correct in assuming that both the Move and the Five would work the same via WiFi?
I will have the TV audio on my arc, ones, etc. and change to Spotify or another music source. However, when I try to switch the audio back to my TV, it says “living room tv does not support that”. I have tried changing the name in the Alexa app and in the Sonia app, neither has worked. I have found a couple work around but they both take a couple manual steps - I want to change between the two verbally and without the need for remotes or restarting systems. This should not be this hard. Please help!
Any suggestions on should I update my Sonos system? I am waiting for HomePod mini and have some credit with Sonos. Was thinking of upgrading to arc, 2 ones. I’ll be keeping my sub. Should I get 2 one sl or 2 ones?
Hi,Looking for a bit of help before making some purchases. I currently have a Sonos system set up in my house. I’m considering buying a google hub, a lenovo smart clock and an echo dot. I was wondering if I can use the speakers built into these devices as an extension of my Sonos sound system. The Lenovo smart clock will be in the bedroom, the dot in the guest room and the google hub in the kitchen. I’d like the ability to play my music through these speakers at the same time as the Sonos system. Is this possible?? Cheers,Gary
Hey Sonos Community. First post. I’m sorry if it’s a duplicate. Tried to search first. For a while now I noticed that the “Group Non-Airplay Products” setting is lacking reliability. Since iOS 14.2 and the new AirPlay interface on iOS devices it seems completely broken: music playback initiated via iOS device via AirPlay 2 does not integrate my non-AirPlay Sonos speakers (a play:1 and a play:3) even though I have a host of devices that support AirPlay 2 (a Play One, and two sets of the IKEA speakers) and the setting is definitely set to “group non-AirPlay products” am I doing something wrong? Am I misunderstanding what this feature does? Ideally I’d like to completely ignore the Sonos app, but it’s not possible currently.
Just like tapping the volume touch controls on the device, I'd like to configure my device to make the same sound when I change it's volume with my Google Chromecast remote.
So I’ve just bought a Sonos One Gen 2 which promises interactivity with Alexa and Google Assistant. I use 2 Philips Hue bulbs which were connected to Amazon Echo and worked very well. now that I bought my Sonos - I have disconnected my Echo as Alexa theoretically works just the same in it. BUT NO! Using Alexa through Sonos won’t allow me to use my light functions as it won’t find these devices. I never needed a Phillips Hub before but now, with my Echo disconnected, it doesn’t look like Sonos and the inbuilt Alexa are able to find the bulbs and connect to them. can somebody please confirm if I’d still need to use an Amazon device to discover and use my bulbs or if without it, Sonos would only be able to find my devices if I buy a Philips Hub?If that’s the case, I can say I am very disappointed with the product as it limits my experience and forces me to spend more more in order to use the same features an Echo device provides me with.
had the sonos play 1 speakers and just added a new sonos one with voice support, however the sonos app doesnt give me the option under browse neither i do not have the “more’ tab.... help please
Hey, I installed my first Sonos and got the purpose of interfacing with my Google nest and to find out that it is not available for my country to link, how do I find a work around??? Help please!!
