I"m planing to have two Move (gen 1) connected as a stereo pair in my kitchen. I would like to have the option to have them both play in mono even when paired. The reason for this is that I would like to be able to move one of them around without ending up with only one channel. Also my placing of the speakers isn't ideal for stereo.Yes, I know I could group them instead but I don't want to risk messing up the perfectly adjusted volume level 😉If Sonos really wanted to do something smart here they would allow the option to automatically switch to mono when picked up from the charger, and then return to stereo when the speaker is returned to the charger. Other options could be implemented as well, like muting the other speaker when one leaves the charger. This feature would of course benefit Move gen 2 and Roam as well/RegardsM
I've just bought the roam 2, have to say I'm really dissapointed music playback is not enabled via amazon alexa.I did buy a cheaper speaker but returned as it didn't have WiFi and bought this thinking I could just randomly ask her to play music.Having owned the play 3 which has somehow developed an issue connecting to WiFi I feel I've spent an awful lot of money on speakers with limited capabilities!
How to connect my Sonos Roam 2 using my Android smartphone’s hotspot instead of Bluetooth.
I usually use my Roam to play in the kitchen while the Beam and Era 100 x2 play in the loungeroom. The beam is connected to a Panasonic TV via the Viera HDMI connection. The TV is connected to my Optus router via WiFi which is in the dining room off the kitchen. It is common for the Roam to suffer interference when playing music, but not when playing conversations on You Tube for instance.Since the Roam is in the same room as the Router (sitting atop a sideboard about 2m above floor level) I am puzzled as to the cause of the interference. I am assuming that the Roam is connecting directly to the router, but is that correct? Does it connect to the Beam? The Beam and Roam are not on a direct line of sight, There is a laundry between them. The lounge, dining room and kitchen wrap arounfg the laundry in a horsehoe shape.
My Sonos Roam has been unreliable since day one. I thought it was me not pressing hard/firmly/long enough on the on/off button on the back of the speaker. Several times I was going to contact the support team shortly after I purchased it but then it worked so assumed it was user error. Today all the system was working, good wifi connection, Roam turned on, lights displaying - not a sound even though the app said otherwise. The app then stated not connected. I turned it on, off, on again, off completely pressing top and back buttons, leaving a few minutes, turned on again. Still no connection despite app. stating otherwise momentarily. Please either sort it out or replace it with a working Roam. Thank you in anticipation.
I’ve seen similar problems in other topics but not this exact problem. My Roam is blinking white, I hold the power button down and it goes to solid orange then after a few seconds right back to blinking white. Honestly this thing has been a piece of crap right out of the box, problems connecting it as a bluetooth speaker as well. It’s past warranty now and Sonos will give me a 40% discount on a new one, whoopie. Maybe someone else has been able to troubleshoot this same problem. Sonos support wasn’t able to. If I can’t get it to work it’s going to get the sledgehammer treatment which at least will feel good for a few minutes but I’d like to save the speaker if anyone can help!
I’ve reached peak frustration with the Move 2. Decided to bring it from my home to a cottage wknd and just could not for the life of me get this thing to play music. Not even Bluetooth. I’ve factory reset and got every error msg possible. May have brought a brick to the party. Is there a specific type of wifi it needs? I tried two different networks. I understand the wifi needs to be connected for Bluetooth but why? Means I can use this damn speaker if I’m in the woods? Dear lord this had me peaking for two hours trying to get the thing to work when I tried should have just been cottage chillin. Any suggestions here are welcome. Even if they prove that I’m an idiot.
My Move is totally unresponsive on the app - just says it is powered off which means I cannot use it.I have rebooted twice and added it back to the network which it says has been done yet the app still keeps saying the same thing - that it is powered off.Rebooted router and also turned iPhone on and off….made no difference. Can only use it as Bluetooth.I have had a long chat with help desk and their conclusion was it is my Sky broadband boosters causing the issue. My Era 1 and Play 1 work fine and are stable and the Move (whilst being the most temperamental speaker - dropping in and out) has been ok for +2 years. How can this suddenly be a Sky Booster issue. To be honest I have not been happy with the Move since I bought it - it just keeps dropping off the network and now seems to have completely locked.Anybody else having similar issues?
I’m frustrated because I have lately been unable to use my iPhone hotspot with my Sonos Roam. I’ve done a factory reset multiple times and the best I get is asking Alexa for time and it responds but when I ask to play music, it’ll say the artist, but it doesn’t play
Hi All, I currently bought a Sonos Move 2, but having issues in use.. The speaker is charged (sitting most of the time on the charging ring). However, once it went in sleepmode, it does not react anymore to power on.. I tried clicking on the on/off button, I tried putting it of and on the charging ring but to no end..After trying 10ish minutes, most of the time the speaker suddenly turns on again… When it is turned off, the speaker is also not visible in my app..Is this normal behavior?
Hi my Sonos Roam is mot working. I read about the problem somewhere and actually wanted to contact the company but it seems I can’t as the company selling the speakers 3 times a price of a competition dont care to have a proper customer service. I am in Poland and there is no live chat no telephone number, and the only support mail is to the ceo and this community. So anyway, my white light is blinking, I tried to reset it by using the standard procedure, it does not work. It stopped working randomly while playing music and I must admit this is not the first time it is doing that, always I just put it away and forget about it and then I suspect that the battery dies until I decide to use it again. Definately not something I would expect from a speaker I actually want to use. So it does not react to anything, I unpaired it, restarted my router and now I think this is actually a hardware problem and please tell me how can I contact the company to help me with the next steps. I want to fi
I just upgraded my Move 2 and I only got SBC codecs left. What went wrong?
Hello community,I´ve had a bad start today: my Move 2 started blinking red (after being put in the charging base).I did the reset but even if now blinks green, I can´t find and connect it anymore. I´ve looked up already some other posts, did the login out and back in of the app. Still can´t be found. I can see a SONOS Wifi network, not sure if that hints at something.I´m grateful for any help! PS: I´m running Android on the phone and Win on the laptop. Nothing should have changed on my internet network...
Is there a way to use a Sonos Move (or any other SONOS speaker) with a wireless headset that communicates via a USB drive to a battery pack for use teaching fitness classes?
Sonos radio is not opening. Asks me to log in. I do. But again nothing happens
Why does my Sonos Move 2 battery drains off completely, when not in use for a couple of days even when it is shut down. My Sonos Roam don't have the same problem
I received a Move 2 as a gift back in December. I was able to get it set up and connected to the SONOS app and also had no issues with bluetooth connectivity. I normally just connect the Move 2 through Apple Music or other family members connect to it through bluetooth. I recently went into the app to play music and my Move 2 was no longer shown in the app. I troubleshooted and tried to reconnect but nothing worked. Based on guidance for the app, I reset my Move 2 following the instructions (I had previously rebooted the Move 2 prior to reseting). Nothing has worked to get the app to recognize my Move 2. After multiple efforts, and after reading about all of the issues with the SONOS app, I just tried to turn on bluetooth and play music from my iPhone. Now Move 2 won't connect to my phone. I also pressed the bluetooth button on the back of the Move 2, but it no longer chimes when it's in bluetooth mode. Now nothing seems to be working on the Move 2.
I have a Sonos Roam SL...Is it okay to leave it plugged in and charging for 99% of the time (even when playing) or will this degrade the battery over time? Or should I occasionally use it on battery power to prevent “memory effect”?
No lights No sound no network
I have set up my Ultra with sub 4 and 2 x Move 2s (set to stereo pairing)via Bluetooth, as separate units. I want to separate the Moves to act independently (one for kitchen, 1 for bedroom) and want to connect to Arc so the music from my phone plays in 3 separate rooms at the same timeAbsolutely no luck using the Sonos bot or via a Google search TIA
These speakers are utter junk. The app is pointless. No one in their right mind should buy anything from this company. Absolute garbage.
I cannot reset my device. After turning on, the device shows a white flashing diode. It makes no sounds when turning it on and off. Attempting to reset does nothing. White LED keeps flashing.
I’ve tried to add my support to all the other threads on this issue, but they’re all closed. Figured I might as well start another one!I have a Roam 2 which does the stuttering every time it connects after sleep. I can eventually get it to work without the stutter by trying various things - full power off, close app, attach to bluetooth then back to wifi, but this takes between 2 and 5 minutes, making the speaker pretty much unusable. The issue DOES happen on any wifi networks (i.e. other houses), and it DOES NOT happen with my Move or Arc on my home network. So I can only assume it’s an issue with the Roam. After reading all the forum comments I have no faith that a new one will fix the issue.
The move 2 speaker has been set up and connected to Wi-Fi successfully. I see how to stream music from the Sonos radio app but unless I use Sonos radio it looks like a brick to me. How would I stream from services such as Pandora or Qobuz? There are no instructions to be found anywhere. Thanks.
I'm looking to have music in my bathroom and exploring my options. The challenge is that the electrical socket in the bathroom loses power whenever I turn off the bathroom light. 🙄I want the music to play continuously, so it's ready the moment I step into the bathroom.I'm considering the Roam 2 speaker since it can run on battery. My idea is to keep it plugged in all the time. This way, when the lights (and power) are on, the speaker will charge, and when the lights are off, it can continue playing music using its battery.Does this setup make sense? Will the Roam 2 keep playing music seamlessly as the power from the socket turns off, provided it has a charged battery?I would be grateful for any help from someone who knows his/her way around Roam 2.Best,V
