Not that I’m aware of. The Roam needs to be ‘set up’ on WiFi initially, once that has occurred, it can be switched to Bluetooth without a WiFi signal.
Thanks for your reply. Now I am unable to download a requested update. Ive tried all the troubleshooting to no avail. I think I need to study guidance more !. Is it just me or do others find this device difficult to set up?

Roam needs wifi connection before switching to bluetooth ? Why does it not connect by using mobile internet. Confused. I want to use in caravan but wifi not always available. Any assistance woll be appreciated. Thanks .
Any Sonos can access mobile internet. However, if you are connecting to a hotspot on your phone, you cannot use that phone to control Sonos, you need another controller device on the same hotspot.
If @jgatie ‘s suggestion doesn’t help, since your post isn’t very clear as to what specifics you’re running in to, I’d call Sonos Support directly to discuss it .
And no, I had no difficulty at all in setting up my Roam, or using it for either WiFi, or Bluetooth.
