Been looking at different threads but did not see any difinitve answers. I am using audio optical out since I have an older TV. I have tried with Trueplay on and off, different EQ settings and I have tried a factory reset already. I sent a diagnostic while it was occuring, confirmation number: 1226177640.If there is a thread that has a solution to this problem please let me know.

So, i bit the bullet and replaced by Sony N7200W for this wireless Sonos setup during the Black Friday event. Sub is still on back order, but i have the ARC and 2x ONE SL’s.I cannot tell you how unbelievably annoyed i am at spending what i have on this Sonos setup, only to have nothing but problems since day one! I want to get the rant out of the way;The app is just trash. The cable length for the SL’s is too short, i mean they are supposed to be surrounds, who the hell has sockets underneath their sofa?!ARC has no HDMI output other than a 1080p screensaver? For £800 i am absolutely blown away that this cannot output anything other than a screensaver, and actually if i had been aware of this then i most likely would have not bought it!Pairing these units is a bloody nightmare! Let me ask who the hell thought it was ideal to require the connect button on the back of the speaker to be held in while the power is cut in order to reset them? Surely just holding the connect button in for 10 s

Hi,I have Sonos Connect connected to my active B&O speakers and an active subwoofer (for music only). My TV is connected to the Sonos Playbar. In my kitchen I have two Sonos Play 1 (stereo).I would like a Sonos One SL in my home office. But is this possible?I like to keep the Sonos S1 app. and does not need the extra features that are in the new version. So the question is quite simple, can I integrate a Sonos One SL into my current setup and still use the 'old' app and continue streaming audio to all my devices? Best regards,Kromann

Hi all!I’m only having the sonos beam connected to my TV (sony bravia X800h or XH80) and it’s showing an audio input of Dolby Digital 5.1, while the beam should only be 3.0. So, my question is, should it be on Dolby Digital 5.1 or on 2.0? And if it should be on 2.0, do you know how to change that?Greetings, Arvid!

Hi,Thanks for reviewing, got a strange issue with my setup, hope someone can help :) …Not too sure how long it’s been like this since I started playing with the setup today.System setup:S2 appPlaybar, wired connection, with pass though going to a TVSub, wireless connection2x Play 1’s, wireless connected acting as surrounds.room size, 3.5 Mtr x 7 Mtra basic 5.1 setup. I’m aware of at least 2x app updates (including the new second sub update) since my setup was fully working.I noted that the surrounds weren’t producing any sound, and that that they where identified as “?” within the app.so Steps tried.rebooted both the Play 1 speakers, no change. removed the surrounds from the room setup, unable to see as individual products, re scanning can’t find them. wired 1x speaker in and reset, noted update on the speaker, applied this, then repeated with the other, then setup a test pair, working, no problem. attempted setting up to Playbar and sub, it went through the stages of connecting, then

Just tonight - my arc only goes up to 15 volume.  I will turn it up it stays up for one second then drops down to 15. I have two other amps in different zones that work fine .  I disabled Alexa , everything is updated . I’ve only had this for three months so imreally nervous and upset . Please help!

I am waiting to pick up my arc next week. I just got the 5's today. I can't use them with my TV unless I use the 3.5mm jack. I wanted to will I be able to pipe the sound from my TV through them once I have my arc connected?

So over the the last 8 days I have had trouble connecting this system to my network. I have a Sonos ARC, Subwoofer and S1. The subwoofer will only connect to the ARC with an Ethernet cable and not over WiFi. I’ve tried restarting and resetting the subwoofer and the ARC a number of times. However I find that the Subwoofer will connect to the S1 over WiFi perfectly without issue but the ARC. I welcome any recommendations to get this working as I can’t have the subwoofer connected to Ethernet where it will be stored.

I have been trying to connect my sub gen 3 to my existing media room which has 2 Sonos five speakers. It completes the set up but it never appears in my system and I cannot get it to connect. I have tried resetting it several time and reinstalling but nothing works. What else can I do? Thanks

Hi there, I have two Sonos 1 and a Sonos Beam and whenever I want to play music and link all three devices, it’s impossible to do so as the Beam is missing. I have chatted with Sonos about this issue two times and they helped me fix it for a bit however after a couple of hours the beam disappears from the system again. The beam is relatively close to the wifi and router but not close enough to add an ethernet cable permanently - which also goes against the purpose of having wifi speakers! This issue has been going on for months and I decided to let time pass by to see if they were coming out with an update to fix this issue but I haven’t noticed any improvement. If anyone has had this issue in the past and overcame it, I would love to hear your solution! Thank you so much in advance!

Hello, I have a Sonos Beam connected to a Samsung Series 8 through optical. Recently we have found that anytime we are streaming something on our Firestick 4K (ie Netflix, Disney+), the audio will stop intermittently for a second or two and then resume. This occurs every hour or two. I am not sure why this is occurring, as we have everything connected correctly that I am aware of and streaming with internet capability up to 1000 mbps (using Nest Mesh Wifi). Diagnostic Number is 457558198

I cannot get Dolby Atmos on my Arc when watching Netflix ( it’s on my LG cx 2020 model year) I have all the necessary requirements and when  I play through the tv speakers I also see the Atmos icon on the screen, this dissapears when I attach the Arc. I’ve tried enabling the eArc toggle in additional settings, makes no difference. The arc was set up using the v2 Sonos app . In fact all streamed content is broadcast in 2.0 when I check on the Sonos app.

I have an Arc for theater and an excellent pair of passive bookshelf speakers exclusively for music. I am considering purchasing the Sonos Amp to power and stream music to the passive speakers. My question is whether I can use a single Sonos Sub with the Arc for theater and switch to use the same Sonos Sub paired with the passive speakers for music?  I assume something like this is possible by setting up two different rooms with the Sub in both rooms, but will doing so cause the Sub to play music out of sync with the passive speakers? Would I be better off purchasing an external subwoofer and let the Amp power the external sub and leave the Sonos Sub paired with the Arc?

Hi - I’ve just invested in a Sonos Beam and am unable to get a connection using the HDMI Arc socket on my Panasonic TX-40DX700 - launched in 2016. Following advice from other posters I have:disconnected all other HDMI leads from the TVunplugged both TV and Beam for five minuteschecked cable is secure both endsensured that I connected using the correct HDMI socket (middle of three)only connected the cable when the TV was switched on (when I do this the tv sound is muted)set the Viera Link to ‘on’ in settings on the TVset TV sound to Home CinemaWhenever I use the Sonos app to link the TV to the Beam I get the following message ‘HDMI ARC not detected. Make sure the HDMI cable is connected to the ARC port and your TV is on’. To check that the Beam was working I connected up using the optical lead. Immediately the TV’s sound came out of both the Beam and the TV. I tried to change the sound setting on the TV to Home Cinema rather than TV but that option was unavailable.I’m starting to run ou

Getting frustrated.  New sub, and intermittently I will have problems with sub “turning on” when starting to play something.  The status light is on, and it acts and looks like it is working just fine from the app (S2).  I can toggle the “sub” on and off, and the only difference it makes it the Ones pick up more of the bass when toggled off; the sub just stays dead.  Then, without any rhyme or reason, at a seemingly random moment, it will turn on and start working. It could be 30 seconds, or it could be 15 minutes. And then, sometimes the power of the sub isn’t anywhere where it should be.  Even maxing out Bass in EQ and Sub Level leaves the sub sounding neutered. Then, all of a sudden, that too will resolve itself at a random moment.  Has anyone experienced this?  Everything is up to date.  I did factory reset the sub once, but it has made no difference.

Hi, I’ve been owning a Playbase for a bit more than one year and I’ve just bought 2 SL Ones to augment the sound experience for my TV.The Playbase has been set up with the previous version of the app, but the new SL Ones have been set up with the new S2 app. I want all these speakers to be configured in the same room but for some reason it is impossible for me to see the Playbase in the new S2 app. When I try to set-up new product, it just never shows up. When I open the old app, it just direct me to the new app, so I’ve kinda lost any ability to control my Playbase, even though it still shows up in AirPlay.Any thoughts? Thanks

I have a brand new setup with two Sonos ONE SLs, Arc and Sub. My room is quite large and the surround (Sonos ONE SLs) are 20’ apart and 15’ from the Arc. The Sub is also about 12’ away from the Arc. I spoke with a technician who said they should be closer, but that’s not easy to do. Is there a way to keep the speakers where they are but improve the connection? Also, rather than use the two Sonos ONE SLs as surrounds, does anyone use them as Front Left and Right speakers? Thanks.

I had a play bar that turned on every night at 2am by itself. It is hooked up to an RCN 4K android cable box optical out. I had to return it . Bought a Yamaha yas-408 sound bar , hooked up identically and never had a problem . Didn’t like the sound quality so I bought an ARC sl hooked it up identically and low and behold it turns on at 2am again. Beyond frustrated.Sonos and I checked for alarms which there are none.

Sonos Beam Airplay stopped working. I tried resetting the router, restarting the Mac, resetting the Beam. Nothing is working. I tried all three things multiple times. The only thing that changed today was the Sonos app update, I figured after a full product reset of the beam things should work right?!?This seam to be a recurring problem. I’ve seen posts that go back two years… after a days worth of work this is not the way I want to spend my time… spending hours trouble shooting your product is not my job, specially considering your ticket price.A simple audio jack to connect to the computer output signal would so easily solve all sort of headaches. I had the product for a couple of weeks and considering that it also took hours to get things to work when I first set-up the system, I’m sincerely thinking of returning it.

I just got an Amazon cube and there is no place to run an optical cord to my ARC.  Currently I run the optical cord from my fire TV to my ARC and HDMI from fire tv to my projector across the room.  (We don’t have a TV).  The cube only has one HDMI spot, which I need to run to my projector (under the carpets and behind our couch.). What to do?  How do I get sound from the Cube to the ARC?

Hi , i am selling 80% of my sonos system and buying up grades. Do i need to factory reset each speaker before i sell ?  and more importantly, how do it do for each product? I presume the procedure is the same for all products?I’m selling play1’s , playbar, play5 gen1’smany thanks, Chris.

I just bought a Beam today and was amazed at the lack of instruction with the equipment, other than download the app and select ‘set up new system’.I downloaded the app to my android Samsung version 6.0.1.On opening the app, the only option is to ‘add to existing system’ - but I don’t have any other Sonos items. How do I find the ‘set up a new system’ tab?

I appear to have a slight humming noise coming from my new Gen 3 Sub. It is most noticeable when the sub is awake, but I have noticed that there is a much quieter hum when the sub is asleep. There is also a very slight ?crackle? noise with the hum.The hum is present when audio is playing, paused, or muted. The sub is paired with an Arc.The hum doesn’t get louder when I turn up the volume slider. Here is an example, recorded on an iPhone with the microphone placed about 1cm away from the hole on the Sub. Sub was awake, with a music source on pause:Example 1 - Sub with HumAnd so you can see the background noise that is generally in the room, this is with the Sub asleep:Example 2 - Sub asleep (natural background noise only)You may need to crank your volume up to hear the hum example… I think the iPhone tries to eliminate background noise (which doesn’t help when you are trying to record a hum!)Should I expect this?I can only really hear it when I get my head close to the sub… but having re

Hi All Just received a new Sonos Beam today. Everything working ok with exception of crackling/static sound when using Xbox Series X. Issue goes away if I revert to stereo sound but clearly this is not a solution.I can see many have been complaining about this. Is there a fix? Should note all other sources are fine including Sky, PS5.
