Can I connect a Samsung subwoofer to a Sonos Beam (Gen 2) soundbar?  (Note:  I am using a Samsung TV)

HiI need a new TV soundbar and want to invest in Sonos ecosystem. Should i buy Sonos Beam (2nd Gen) in March 2024 or hold out for a potential ‘Beam 3rd Gen’ later in the year… 2025(?!) ?Thoughts?

I have an Arc, Two Era 300’s, and a sub mini in a small to medium sized room. The Arc is underneath the wall-mounted TV around 10 feet in front of the seating position, with the sub mini below it to the side. The question I have is about the 300’s: Due to the fact I have a corner shaped sofa, I’m only able to put one of the 300’s to the left of me (slightly behind but sufficiently away from the wall with the requisite 8 inch side clearance) but the right hand one isn’t able to go symmetrical to the left, so it’s forward, positioned around halfway from the sofa to the TV. Will this suffice still, in getting good enough surround sound for HT and also when paired for music? Thanks in advance for your input.

I’m wondering if someone could help with this and apologies if I’m missing something obvious. I’ve added two era 300 to my system and want to use them as surrounds. When I added the 300s they each set up in their own new rooms.I have an existing room called TV with a beam and sub. When I click on that room and select add surrounds, I get a message saying I need two identical speakers to use and this is what I don’t understand. I have two identical 300s but they were automatically placed in their own rooms when I added them, so is that why my tv surround room can’t access them? What do I need to do to be able to add them as surrounds?Thank you. Alastair

Hi I am new to sonos concept and i am having the living room build and have reached the stage for plaster boarding ceiling and walls etc. It is an open plan layout kitchen one end and living area at the other. i would like to mount a nice tv on the wall and enjoy movies etc with good sound. so looking at a soundbar with sub , BUT i have an issue with rear speaker placement. I dont want rear speakers on stands behind the sofa dog will knock them over etc.   Would speakers in the ceiling work for surround sound and Dolby Atmos ?   Thank You

I have in the living room the TV screen, one Beam, one Sub Mini and two Era 300. I use them for movies but for music without the TV too. Wich would be the best way to configurate, group the speakers?And adding the Move 2 to the configuration would improve the sound?Best regards,

Hi there, I was given a gen 2 amp from a customer at work and have since installed a pair of Sonos sonance in ceilings above the sofa and running the TV through them. Since then I have bought a sub mini and just arrived is a beam gen 2. I'm a bit lost on setup. Anyone able to point me in the right direction. Cheers 

Good afternoon.I had a question about home theater system.I currently have a home theater system with sonos beam, two sonos one speakers and the sub mini of which the system is 5.1ch.My question is, to create the system to 7.1ch I have to add two more sonos one? Or could it be two other models like two sonos era 100 speakers or any other model?

But rumors are telling that Sonos might be realease a new soundbar in near future,so what is the best thing to do here. Buy a Arc now or be patient? Anyone care to share any timeline for Sonos new products-release? Have a nice Easter-holidays🫶

I’ve read a few snippets round the traps that the Era300’s lose functionality and performance characteristics when they’re configured as rears in 7.n.2 configuration.Having just purchased a pair this would seem a tragic waste to me .. have I just invested in a pair of premium speakers that I’ll never get full use from?Surely if this is the case Sonos should have provided a variant priced below the Era300 that doesn’t carry components that’ll never be used in home theatre config.

When my SLs are in separate groups they work alright but they’re not collectively working together, so I can pick and choose which speaker I’m listening to which is annoying. I want them to be all in the same group so I can true tune them but when I try my SLs get super muted and staticy. I don’t know what’s up

I just got Fios set up and the installation went great- the TV plays over my soundbar just like I want. The only problem is, now my Sonos app doesn’t recognize my soundbar for anything other than the TV. I used to be able to play music on my soundbar even when the TV was turned off. Now the app only shows the TV in the living room instead of the soundbar. Help!!!

There are tons of 3rd party AMP/amp/sub topics out there, but I haven’t found one exactly like this.I’m looking for validation on updating my current patio setup and am curious if any of you see potential implications or drawbacks. I’ve recently ordered a Buckeye Class-D 4-channel Hypex NC502MP amplifier to power my primary home theater LCR. This particular Hypex design is only offered in even-number designs, evidently due to supply/economics. I ordered a 4-channel, so 4 separate line level inputs, 4 speaker outputs (4 pair of speaker terminals). There is no HPF/LPF, DSP or gain control. Stick with me...Existing patio setup:Simple 2.1 setup on the patio. 90% music / 10% TV/Movies.  Sonos AMP powering pair of Polk Atrium 6 AMP sub out to Polk SWA500 subwoofer amp SWA500 speaker outs to passive Polk Atrium Sub100. Considering:Remove SWA500 and run AMP sub out to unused Channel 4 of new Buckeye amp. I would use the Sonos App to control crossover and sub level--hopefully, set it and forget

Upgrade/replace a Sonos beam (gen 1) to beam (gen 2):I had moved from a house with a large living room to an apartment and needed a soundbar to replace my home theater that I couldn’t take with me. In Dec 2022 I bought my first Sonos speaker for the living room TV, a Beam. From an Amazon seller. It was listed as new and Gen 2; true it was new, but the item was not Gen 2 it registered as a Gen 1 when setup. I did get an amazon credit for the slight difference in price. Since the Beam sounded Great, I kept it and got a Sonos sub (Gen 3) two days later. At that time, I did not know the sub-mini was available. Fast forward to March 2024.I had recently added a Victrola stream turntable for the living room in October an wanted to hear it well in the bedroom too. Hello,I was using since a year Apple TV 4K and Sonos arc together connected with sonny TV.since yesterday  default sound from Sonos arc is stopped !!today I check with simply connected with Apple TV and sonny tv. Over there I can get sound from my tv which seems ok for Apple TV. But when I connect with another port of tv HDMi with Sonos arc hdmi seems it’s no more working !!! Before the same set up was working and I was getting default sound from Sonos arc.  I tried to replace the HDMI cable but it’s can’t get sound from arc. Both Apple TV and Sonos Arc is updated with latest SW version already.can you please suggest what other things I can recheck ?current port setup: TV HDMI PORT > Apple TV HDMI portTV HDMI PORT(ARC) > Sonos Arc HDMI port thanks  

I’ve moved house and I have a new wifi router. My sonos is connected to my previous wifi setting and now it won’t let me add the sonos player to my account as it keeps saying it’s not recognised on my new wifi. I’ve tried a factory reset but the app is still not allowing for it. What can I do please?  thanks  

I have a playbar connected via optical to my TV. I'm noticing increasingly frequent short audio dropouts normally of less than a second. This occurs regardless of the source whether inbuilt apps like Netflix or STB on HDMI. I've played with various settings on the TV and it does seem related to how the Playbar processes Dolby Digital. All software is up to date and I'm running the Playbar with sub and 2 Play:1s on surround. Any suggestions please?

Hi all!I have a Sonos system with an Arc, a Sub Gen 3 and I decided to replace the two One SLs I had as surround speakers with two Era 100s. After removing the One SLs and adding the Era 100s, I had to rerun Trueplay and now I notice something weird I need to check with you if you also notice it. before this upgrade, when listening to, let’s say, music, I often checked sound difference with true play on and off and laying a song without trueplay, and then turning it on during the playback. The transition from trueplay off to trueplay on was clean. Now, this transition is choppy, when I turn on trueolay during playback, the sound gets choppy for a second and the it gets to normal.Anyone notices this as well? Thanks in advance for your input. 

Hi,I have the following configuration:Sonos Ray Apple TV 4K Sony TV KD55AG9BAEPLinked with optical cable.THe audio is slightly stuttering during playback of audio dolby digital / atmos, but enough to be completely annoyingThe TV is setted up to output Dolby Digital Plus. No issues detected when playing sources with stereo 2.0 soundsI have tested:Doing the plug/unplung process Setting up the TV to PCM outputNeither fixed the problem

In my living room I use a Sound Bar, Two “Ones” for Surround and a Sub. I have turned on speech enhancement, but it makes little difference. Is there anything else I can do besides selling my Sonos and buying a conventional home theatre setup which will work much better.I am very disappointed that after all these years of people complaining about dialogue on Sonos that nothing has been done to address this.This is the only reason I cannot recommend Sonos to friends and family.

Hi all. I’ve had my Sonos Arc for over a year and half now.  I’ve never found the speech/ Centre channel that great, after many adjustments, truplay etc never noticed a difference, after the last update it seems to of got worse, we have to turn up the volume to hear the voices but when a loud scene happens it way too loud. I can never get the balance right, speech enhancement is always in, loudness on/ off doesn’t seem to make a difference.Does anyone else have this issue?

I am looking to add a sound bar to my TV.  I was going to order the playbar.  I have been told that my TV remote will not work properly with any sound bar but the ARC.  Is that true? 

I have an Arc configured with a Sub and a pair of Era 300s for surround, and hooked up to our Roku TCL TV. Works great for most use cases and the surrounds work great if what we’re watching is encoded for that, but when I’m watching/streaming something on the TV in stereo they don’t work.Is there a way to force the Sonos system to play the same audio on all 3 speakers if the TV signal doesn’t have surround (i.e. is in Dolby Multichannel PCM 2.0?)When we stream Spotify or Sonos Radio through the Arc/Eras, it plays the music on all 3 speakers (which is what we want here). But if I’m streaming something in stereo, those rear surrounds stay off and I’d like to figure out how to have them playing the same audio in this setup.

I have an older Samsung that I’d like to use with the Arc I just bought. I’m planning to upgrade the tv to a Sony when they are next on sale, but I’m wondering if the arc will work with my current Samsung, which is model number UN65KU6290F.It does have an hdmi arc port.Thanks
