Echoey sound with Arc and Amp

TV to Arc via HDMI, Arc wirelessly to Sub, SL’s (one room) and Amp (another room) and passives wired to Amp. The sound is echoey when the Amp is on and grouped with the Arc. Is this because of delay and how do I fix. My network is super fast and the Arc and Amp are within a couple feet of each other. If indeed the wireless setup is the issue, what’s an alternate setup?

The echo is inevitable when playing TV sound because the HT surrounds have negligible lag in order to sync with the Arc and hence the video.  The key aim is to avoid lip sync issues.  However, when rooms ae grouped a larger buffer is required in order to achieve perfect sync between rooms.   So you cannot sync audio and video and two rooms at the same time.  Possible solutions:

  1. If you are listening to TV sound in the Amp room and so cannot see the video, mute the HT room
  2. Use the TV Dialog Sync setting on the Arc to delay the audio on the Arc.  You should be able to eliminate the echo, but at the cost of increasing audio - video lag

Note that this only applies to TV sound.  Music sources will play across the two grouped rooms in perfect sync.
