Seems like with the new LG OLED TV's you can't integrate sonos with the systems since they come with their own playbar. Will Sonos support these TV's in the future? Seems silly to have two wall bars just to get Sonos functionality. Unfortunate you can't use Sonos with these great TV's. TV's like this: http://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-OLED65W7P-oled-4k-tv

What is the maximum length of Digital Audio Cable that can be used with Sonos Playbar? The 5ft. cable that comes with the Sonos Playbar is not long enough for my setup, I run the cables behind my cabinet and behind the wall and up to the TV. It will need approximately 10 - 12 ft. run. And is there a Digital Audio Cable you that is compatible / or you would recommend?

Hey all, I am new to the Sonos community and just wanted to get some input on how to set up my home theater. I currently have a Samsung 4K TV sending surround to my home theater system via optical output consisting of soundbar, satellites and sub. I recently purchased a connect, as I want to integrate all of my rooms to the sonos system. My current plan is to run the TV optical out to a DAC, run the red/white RCA output into the sonos connect. Then to complete, run optical output from the sonos into the home theater system. I don't think that this will cause too much delay or cause any significant loss in audio quality. Does this sound like the appropriate way to run TV audio into the sonos system? If there is a better way please let me know. Also, will I be able to stream TV audio to other sonos speakers in different rooms with this setup? Thanks

Ideally I want to put my sub, lying flat on the bottom glass shelf of my TV stand, is that ok?

I would be very pleased if Sonos basically took the AVR (audio visual receiver) question off the table by adding at least three HDMI inputs. They could really knock it out of the park if we could choose how to "scale" the input from HDMI to 1080p, or 2160p HDR 4k and such. I know a bit of a fantasy, but a receiver with power in does the same thing for around $700. Paradigm is coming out with a new soundbar that has HDMI and more according to CNET. I've just bought a new Playbar to connect with my new Samsung 70" TV excpecting it to be able to connect wirelessly, but it's just telling me I need to use a cord or something like that. Is it possible for me to set it up wirelessly?

Hi could anyone help me with choosing a good optical switch to work with my playbar as so i can get the best out of my sky box,ps4,xbox one and apple tv as i believe I'm not getting the best out of my sons set up(playbar,sub,2xplay 1s)when the optical is connected to my tv and not the actual devices themselves. any ideas would be great.

Hi, I am considering getting a Sonos Playbar so that I can orientate the TV and it's sound to either the lounge (primary consideration for sound quality) or the dining room (secondary) using a cantilever bracket on the wall between the two rooms with the Playbar hung below the TV on the bracket. If at all possible, I would also like to be able to consolidate and simplify my stereo system and associated AV receiver, speakers and wires into the mix too, so that I have one integrated system for both my Home Theater and (importantly) a great sounding stereo music system too. If anything, good quality stereo sound is more important than the Home Theater side of things for me. I have heard the Playbar on it's own and whilst it is great for TV, it is not strong enough for what I am looking for musically, it is improved by linking it with the Sub for a bit more oomph, but even after adding the Sub, it still does not give that proper stereo separation (wider sound stage) with the musi

I have a Sony Bravia KDL 55 EX720 TV that I have been unable to connect successfully to the Playbar. The fibre optic cable has the red light emitting from the cord when I remove it from the Playbar. There are minimal settings on TV, leaving thinking there is a compatibility issue with Sony Bravia TV's and the SONOS Playbar. If I've missed a step or you're aware of similar issues let me know, thanks.

Can you run the playbar as a play 1 style mono speaker i.e. turn of the sound processing for streamed music (for TV the surround/processing etc is fine). When streaming music to the playbar I find the sound processing on it makes a mess of the music so I'm looking for the playbar to act as a clean neutral speaker in a group.

Hi everyone! I was looking into buying a UltraHD Bluray for my house (that I also really want to use for regular blurays) and I was wondering which one is best / friendlier to convert DTS / DTS HD / DD+ / Atmos/ Etc... to DD in order to do 5.1 with my Sonos system. I currently have the Playbar, the SUB and two Play 1's on my family room and my TV (Sony x850c) can do DD5.1 pass-through. As of right now, all the devices I have (minus the PS3 and 4 if they have to convert DTS to DD) can pass / convert DD 5.1 to the TV via HDMI, so ideally (to husband proof my house) I was thinking on getting a device that could do the same (and to stop having to switch my PS4 / 3 over to optical to get surround sound with movies). The XBox One S sounds attractive because it also play games, but I was curious if it suffers from the same issues of than the PS3 / 4 have (no DTS conversion over HDMI), and how to know how good of a UltraHD Bluray player it is. How many watts would a play bar be close too? Also any new sonos speakers on the way?

I have the Sonos Playbar, Sub and 2 Play 5s to go with my Sony tv. What I don't have is a single remote to control it all. Does anyone have suggestions for a good remote that gives full functionality over the Sonos gear and the TV?

I have just got a Playbar, I already have a Sonos 5. I can get them both to play the same music at the same time but I cant get the Sonos 5 to play the same TV sound as the Playbar. Is this possible? Any help would be gratefully received.

I have a K series Samsung TV and Sonos Playbar which I got connected so they work just fine. However, when a connect a bluetooth headset to the TV, the Playbar still produces audio and can not be controlled by the remote control.

Hi, Can I connect sonos Playbar with my laptop and play music/movies/A/V files from my laptop and hear from Sonos Playbar?

Odd title aside I am curious if anyone has had any issues mounting the playbar under a large TV when the front of the TV and wall are approximately 6 inches apart. I know the speakers will be angling 45 degrees up in the position I am considering but will the space between the TV and wall create any distortion or be a sound quality issue? I plan to mount about 3-4 inches below the TV. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking at getting a playbar but already have a powered sub and a sonos connect and wondered if I could connect the powered sub to the connect and then set that up as the sub as part of the home cinema set up. Is that possible or can you only use the Sonos sub?

I'm thinking of purchasing a sonos sound bar and was curious about the sound input options available. My dvd player gives me the option to play stero sound or 5.1 sound. Does the sound bar work better with one or the other. Does it make a difference in the sound played by choosing one or the other. Does the sound bar simulate surround sound or do you have to buy more speakers to achieve that surround sound feeling?

Hi I'm thinking of ugrading my tv and dvd player to a Samsung UE65K8000 TV and Samsung UBD-K8500. I already have a Sub, Play 1 x 2 and Sonos Playbar linked to my Sky Q box (can't connect old Pioneer TV direct) and Apple TV (gen 1) using an optical manual switch. My question is should I connect my Playbar directly to the new TV or still through the Sky Q box - are there any advantages/disadvantages either way. Also, I'm thinking I can get rid of the Apple TV as Netflix, etc is on the new Samsung TV. Can anyone advise if I am missing anything that this new setup would not give me. Thanks

Hi everyone, Looking to replace my current Sony tv and would like to know if the SONY BRAVIA KD65XD8599BU will output DD5.1 through the optical port? The manual I've found online says "DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) Digital optical jack (Two channel linear PCM, Dolby Digital, DTS)" but I'm not sure if this means it does or not?

I have sonos system Connect-AMP wired to four Yamaha ceiling speakers. I want to buy Theatre sound system to our TV. What I gathered that I need to buy sound bar to connect to the TV. I also understand that SONOS Playbar is the most comparable system so I can: 1- Listen to TV sound through playbar as well as our 4 ceiling speakers. 2- Play SONOS Music on both existing speakers and new sound bar. So my question: What are the alternatives to SONOS Playbar? I can see many cheaper but good quality sound bars , but what I don't know is their connectivity to SONOS System and whether they can replace sonos PLaybar. Anyone can give me an advice please? Trying to catch up on Christmas sale!
