I connected a Beam to my LG C9 OLED TV (US version) via HDMI-arc as recommended in Sonos app setup. Using the LG Magic Remote I can control TV volume up/down and mute, but I can no longer turn the TV power on or off! The remote setup automatically via LG Device Connector, TV automatically setup the device to work as a universal remote. Connecting the Beam also stopped my FireTV Stick 4K remote from controlling the LG TV volume and power on/off. After setting up the FTV Remote with Sonos manually via the Sonos App (Settings > Room Settings > Beam Room > Remote > Remote Control Setup), I was able to get volume up/down and mute working, but it still can't turn the LG TV power on/off. The only solution I have to turning the TV on/off is asking Alexa, somehow that works but the remotes' power buttons have been disabled. Sonos makes a fantastic 5.1 setup which, in my case, is actually 5.0: a Sonos Beam and two Sonos Ones for the surrounds. I just wish the surround Music Playback mode is easier to change. Sometimes, I listen to music while sitting on the sofa with the surrounds behind me. In this case, I set Music Playback to "Ambient" mode so the Beam plays the loudest and the Ones, about 2 feet from my ears, aren't overwhelming. When I'm not sitting on the sofa, I set Music Playback to "Full" mode so it plays delightfully throughout my suite. Here's how you currently change this setting, which I do about 3-5 times a day. 1. Open Sonos app 2. Press Settings 3. Press Room Settings 4. Open your Room (Sonos +LS+RS in my case) 5. Scroll down to Advanced Audio 6. Press Surround Settings 7. Press Music Playback 8. Set the Music Playback mode That's eight steps just to change the mode. I'm not here to prescribe a specific solution, although I'll happily suggest ideas, but I wish Sonos mad

Good day, I have a Playbar and two Play 1s as surround speakers. Coming from my left Play 1, I sometimes hear crackling or static sound coming from it. Anybody have this issue before and if so how did you fix it. Thanks!

I mounted my Beam upside down under my TV because it was the only way since the mount was blocking access to the cable ports and the Beam controls were too close under the TV if mounted upright. By mounting it upside down I am able to access the Beam buttons underneath and have a clear entry to the cable ports. Please make it possible to swap left/right channel of the Beam.

It appears I'm not alone regarding volume issues on the original Sonos connect amp. I purchased the bundled Amp with (2) sonance speakers from Best Buy and tried them out of the box 3 months ago. There was ZERO volume until I got over the 50% mark. Even at 100%, the volume is not that loud. I was using 16 gauge wire @ 10 feet. I just installed the speakers outside. I'm using 14 gauge oxygen free CL2 speaker wire. One speaker is about 35 feet away and the other is 20 feet away. I'm hardwired to the ethernet port and tried the speakers using Pandora by default. The volume was not audible until closer to the 60-70% mark. I've read about this issue multiple times and have not seen a resolution. -Support Diagnostic: 18720331 -Volume limit is set to off -I've toggled between Loudness on or off with no discernible difference, except maybe the bass level -I don't have a line in

Hi there I’m new on here and have a question. i have a white Sonos beam and seam to have a stain on the front fabric mesh . Looks like something has been splashed up the front of it . ( tea or coffee mark or milk) has anyone have any ideas how to clean this or how do you clean the front mesh on a white beam ? Mad it’s fabric and not metal .. have called Sonos and they have advised me to try on hear and ask as they don’t know!

Why won’t the rear speakers play in stereo while watching TV?  Is this an update that we will see in the future?   When I play music, sound comes from all the speakers equally.  One I turn on the TV the surround speakers will only play surround or fill noise?  I want it to be able to play in stereo as well for my father who is hard of hearing.  It will make it so he can hear people talking better.  Am I missing this or is this a future update?

Hi, I have a Sonos Beam and in the main I'm very happy. However, like others on here I'm having issues with lynching - i have a Sony Bravia TV, a Sony S380 Blu-ray Player and a Sky Q box (UK). It is usually okay unless I'm using an HD channel. Changing the slider on the Sonos app does absolutely nothing to fix the lipsynching. I've also tried turning off the imaging processing but still to no avail. Any ideas? Charles

I presume the answer is no, but can I combine my existing Play 1 (the old entry level speaker) with a One SL (the new entry level speaker) to set up surround speakers with a Sonos beam / playbar / or playbase?

HELP   I feel like Ron Burgandy, in a glass cage of emotion as I type this.  I have 2 Sonos amps that are currently hooked up to two pair of Sonos ceiling speakers.  I wanted to play each TV’s through my speakers but can’t find a way to hook up my Directv 4K Genie to the Sonos AMP?   I just laid out a large amount of money on the Sonos product and this is pretty frustrating.  I’m hoping someone has a fix.   Thank you and Happy Holidays.

I am moving house and looking to purchase a new TV and 5.1 system. Sonos seems the natural choice as I have play 5/1’s around the house but current 5.1 is wired BOSE with Sony Bravia.  the more I look the more I get confused. 2 key areas seem to be problems for other users of Beam 5.1 TV’s not converting Dolby Digital Plus to Dolby 5.1. Instead converting to PCM giving poor surround sound Lip sync issues between TV and Beam.My local audio company advised to go with LG C9 65 with Beam 5.1 however LG seem to have a lot of bad press regarding lip sync with play bars.  ideally I want the new playbar over Beam however as it’s not released I’ll buy the Beam now and sell when the Playbar comes out.  Can anyone recommend 65 inch OLED that will do the DD+ to DD 5.1 conversion and not give lip sync issues ???  Budget approx £2k for TV and £2k for sound system. 

Can I use the HDMI to Optical cable converter, which is usually connected to the TV, to connect the Beam directly into the optical port on the Virgin Tivo box, will this work? 

I currently have one SYMFONISK lamp (IKEA) and I just purchased a playbase.  I wanted to create surround sound, can I use a PLAY 1 or do I need another SYMFONISK?  If so, do I need the lamp or could I get the bookshelf one?   Thanks!

Got my Beam today (16th) and am pleased with it so far, but I'm having to boost the TV volume much higher that it was with the TV speakers. Without the Beam the TV was at about the right volume at a setting of 30 whereas via the Beam it needs to be in the 70's to 80's (and thats nearly maxed out) to get the same perceived volume It's a Sony Bravia TV with the Beam connected via the HDMI ARC and a pair of Play:1s as surrounds. Anybody got any suggestions as to either TV or Sonos settings. I've played TV Level slider from the app. but it doesn't seem to make much impact? I'll continue playing about in the meantime

Problem: I own an LG 4K projector that is made to be portable (HU80KA). I want to be able to move this projector in between my apartment living room and bedroom. I want to avoid the number of wires I have to connect to the projector between me moving it to the different rooms. I also do not want to have to setup the audio/internet/video in between moving the projector to different rooms. I have a sonos beam and sub in my living room and 2 Sonos One SLs in my bedroom.  Obstacles: LG Miracast wirelessly supports Netflix and Youtube but does not support Spotify, Airplay 2 screen mirroring or Amazon Prime. The projector itself only has 2 HDMI ports.  What Im trying to make happen: All I want is to be able to move my projector between my living room and bedroom while being able to enjoy what a majority of people here probably use: Airplay 2, Sonos Equip, Netflix, Spotify, Amazon Prime. All media @ 4k.  Questions: 1.) What is the best possible solution to make all of these things play toget

Hi there, recently bought an older model Samsung (NU7100), and Sonos Beam etc. Sonos is wired and working well without the TV (music only). But I am having issues with TV connectivity. Things I've tried; I connected the Beam via HDMI Arc (Tv input was HDMI arc). The sound was delayed and intermittently switched on and off. I then ran an update on both the TV and Samsung, still same issue. Tried turning off all products beside the Beam, still same issue. Tried using the optical port on the TV (via the HMDI / optical adapter that came with the Beam). The only option on the TV that was now available to select other than the the "TV sound", did not work. No sound. Went back to the HDMI Arc connection, it is now missing from the TV option menu. Am I missing something? I am going to try another TV tomorrow, thinking maybe I'll try another HDMI 2 cable?? Thanks in advance... hoping it isn't something simple.. because I really am stumped... Hey everyone, I've just purchased a gleaming new 2019 LG OLED 65" C9 TV and a Playbase, Sub and two Play1's. All went to plan until I tried to turn the volume up/down which doesn't work with the magic remote (given it doesn't have IR functionality) My investigations on the support forum gives me instructions for the C8 (press Home, go to Device Connector). However the Device Connector isn't an option on the Home menu for the C9 so I'm stumped. Can someone please help out here as I'm so close, yet so far away from having the perfect cinema experience! Hello guys!    I have a Sonos one today at my balcony.  I was willing to buy a Samsung 65Q60 TV with a Sonos Beam. I usually like to play video clips at the TV. I was wondering if it is possible to make the sound of the TV play in all my sonos speakers, not only in the Sonos Beam connected to the TV. Is that possible? 

Hi there, I have a Beam and I’m thinking of adding a couple of speakers to create a home cinema. The problem I have is I have a corner sofa so not sure if the speakers will work correctly/well with how my living room is setup. See below sketch of living room arrangement, not a massive living room so canny change it. The reason ‘person 2’ sits in that seat with a funny angle to the TV is because it’s a recliner (to be fair it’s not as bad watching from there as I expected). Would the speakers work as shown? (I’m assuming not as speaker 2 is too near the beam and in line) Or would I need to put the second speaker in the corner of the room and have ‘person 2’ sit next to ‘person 1’/in corner seat? Any advice would be appreciated even if it’s to say do not do it! I’ll just have to wait until the next house move.  Thanks  

My LG C9 2019 model does not currently work with the play bar - I follow the steps but the magic remote won't link to the player when asked to press the volume + button. Im hoping there will be a fix soon. Any ideas people. It is running through and optical lead and I choose optical on the LG menu then I go to Sonos app and press the volume + button pointing at the play bar but it won't connect. 

Hi, I have a projector setup with the audio connected to a beam using a HDMI cable - works well. However I now need to hide the cables... Before I resort to abusing my walls (the house is very old) I was hoping someone would have a solution to a more wireless option? I've tried a "wirelesstv2" however that didnt work. Would a sonos amp wired up to the projector and then grouped with the beam work? Would it introduce too much delay? Any other bright ideas...? Thanks in advance, Iain

Our Samsung TV model is LE32R51B. We are using the only HDMI port to connect to a computer, which is the current source of movies and music. We want to know if it is possible to connect a Sonos Beam to this type of TV and if a optical fibre adapter is included on the product? The TV ports are these:  

I have a few different players around the house, plus a Beam with 2 IKEA Symfonisk rear surrounds. While I was part of the beta testing group I noticed that at times the surrounds were out of sync with the Beam, but only for music. For other reasons I went back to the stock setup and left the beta. A few days ago I was listening to some music in the kitchen but then went to do some housework so set Sonos to play everywhere. When I got to the living room, the rear speakers were out of sync with the Beam so there was essentially an echo. As I had done during the beta, I suited diagnostics then emailed Sonos support about the issue. The bottom line from Sonos is that this happened because the Beam wasn't the group leader, or originator. Playing the source via the Beam and then grouping the rest of the house will apparently stop this from happening. Now, is it just me or is that pretty poor? Am In able to connect my Samsung OLED TV to my Sonos connect system via wifi, the sound of the TV isnt that great. My sono’s speakers are inbuilt into the ceiling of my flat with the sono’s system itself in the utility room far from the living room where the TV is, so am unable to connect it via cable.    Any info will be greatly appreciated.  

So I just purchased a Samsung qled TV QN75Q70RA and the Sonos Playbar. I went through the instructions to connect the TV remote to the Playbar and it connected. The problem is that the remote only communicates with the Playbar when I’m standing. No joke, the second I sit on my couch, the volume control doesn’t work. No matter where I angle the remote(hold it high, sideways, whatever) it doesn’t work. But when I stand up, it works fine. I have the Playbar laying in front of the TV on a stand. I’ve tried unplugging and restarting multiple times with no success.  You can imagine how upsetting this is so and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
