Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Is it possible to suppress check for update when new version is released for Sonos app on Windows? Can this be achieved through file or registry?

This app is terrible . And there’s barely a work around even the AirPlay doesn’t work for the speakers . After playing one song on AirPlay my phone tells me it can’t connect to the server . So when I use the app I have to deal with this terrible user interface . Why can’t I just go to my songs on Apple Music and play all of my songs on shuffle ? The search function is terrible as well and not organized . I don’t understand how all of the users have been having the same issues and Sonos has done nothing . I saw a post saying the same thing from 3 years ago ?? What company doesn’t listen to its customers and still has the nerve to charge a thousand dollars for a sound bar . I guess that’s why they’re all on Facebook market .

Hello. I have an older set up that partly relies on a Sonos Connect and Bridge to drive my non-Sonos audio components, together with the Sonos products in other rooms. I primarily play music through the S1 controller on my phone (older components not working with the S2) and mange the files through iTunes with regular Library updates. This has always worked well previously. Lately, though, my iTunes playlists have become a series of gibberish letters and numbers, although all the music files appear to be there properly, listed and playable by artist, album, and track in the app. It’s just the playlists which are a problem. The music is stored in an NAS, and the iTunes Music Library.xml file is there as per prior instructions, exported manually and up to date. I am not willing to give up my very nice audio components, but have I finally reached the end of the road with my Connect and Bridge system? Will switching to a Port and presumably the S2 controller solve this problem? Or is th

I have read on the forum that whe. You enable yhe wifi on the arc it resyncs the surround... but every so often the arc refuses to make any sound. When I disable the wifi it mak s s sound again. I have unpaired and repaired the surround to the arc. But I continue to either have no sound or echoes and out of sync sound.. please help. I wan t to just have a system thst plays consistently after setup. 

I’ve noticed all this week every time I increase the volume up on my Sonos speaker when paired with my iPhone, the volume decreases to 15 I have searched high and low for answers and I have no clue as to why this is repetitive. Please help me.

I have a laptop using windows 11. I have music on the laptop and Sonos on the laptop. I just updated Sonos (sob!!) and again (as has happened several times before) I now cannot play any music. How do I fix this? I have tried deleting the library and putting it back, I have checked that the firewall is not preventing access. I have shared the folder- all to no avail. Actually it says it is accessing the library. A blue circle circles and then I get the unable to play message again. I don’t know what else to do. Why does this keep happening? Also it hasforward slashes/ in the address but on my computer it is a back slash\ ...of course Sonos does not allow me to alter the slash. Is there a way to do this? Why is it using the different symbol to the computer- the computer is sharing the file- including the correct address?

I have noticed that on my Era 100s, when I pause music the status light will flash white, then after a while it will rapidly flash orange and then turn solid white. My music still pauses no problem. If I unplug the speaker for 10 seconds and plug it back in, this goes away for a while but will come back. Any idea what is going on here?

Just moved into a new home that has built-in speakers which I want to make 4 zones from (Zone 1: 4 ceiling speakers in living room +1 ceiling speaker in kitchen nearby; Zone 2: 2 wall speakers in dining room; Zone 3: 4 speakers on porch; Zone 4: 2 speakers next to porch facing pool). I previously had arc/beam/surround/sub setups in multiple rooms which I will still use for rooms which are not prewired. I've gone back and forth with not using the built ins and adding more sonos speakers, or using multiple sonos amps, or using the sonos port with a sepearate muli zone amp. I want to have full control of which zones are playing at the same time rather than have all on or off. I also would like to be able to control the zones and volume from my phone. Is the best option just to spend the extra money and get individual sonos amps? Would having non-sonos speakers be a good option if the home is already prewired in terms of quality? Any details and tips on actual setup would also be apprec

We had to reboot our router (which I think has caused the problem) and now app says arc ultra and sub 4 not connected. We've followed the instructions to re-connect it but the app still says not connected, even though its working on tv but can't connect other speakers for music. How can we get this to work as it should, thanks.

The system is set up correctly in the Sonos app, but I only hear sound from the Arc. The surround speakers (left and right) stay silent — even when playing Netflix content that should support Dolby Digital 5.1.To be honest, the surround has never worked properly since installation. I recently powered everything down and back on, but the issue remains.Sonos S2 app version: 80.19.21.TV connected via HDMI ARC.What I’ve tried: Verified TV audio output settings (Bitstream + Dolby Digital). Checked grouping in the Sonos app (Arc, Sub, and both Symfonisk are shown as part of the room). Looked for the audio input format in the app but can’t find it anymore. Questions:

Does anyone have information on this latest forced system reset / rebuild?I was playing music on my Sonos system last night - a Play:3, 2 Moves, a Play One and a Roam. Today, I go to play music and - none of my Sonos devices are on my system. I am forced to rebuild everything - walking to every device on each floor in my house to press buttons manually. Irritating enough. But it refuses to recognize the Play:3.Is someone at Sonos intentionally trying to alienate users? The amount of time I’ve spent in the last year doing stupid reboots, app updates, re-adding Sonos devices and fixing software crashes that destroyed playlists is mind-boggling. I am considering doing a factory reset on the Play:3 to see if I can connect it to the system, but am afraid that Sonos will simply brick the device. Thoughts?

I have connected the Era 300 via Bluetooth and no sound comes from the speakers . I had no problem with Bluetooth in the past but I do now

Question for you guys. I have a couple of era100 pairs running in stereo pairs and that setup works well,  single volume control for each set.  My question is about the last pair I just set up. At a suggestion by this group I didn't stereo pair these,  I grouped them non stereo.  They are set up around a non centered season area and the sound is great, that brings me to the question.  With the seating not centered one needs to be slightly higher volume than the other to have the area filled correctly. This is easily done with the separate volume controls but it's there a way that once the volume offset is made can they be controlled with a single volume slider?  For me is just an inconvenience but my wife...... has issues with keeping the group in sync.

I’ve recently moved and my Sonos One (S2 v84.1-63110) won’t recognise the new wifi. It works if I use the cable, but I’m unable to change the network info to allow it to connect by wifi. I’ve followed the instructions at https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/connect-sonos-to-a-new-router-or-wi-fi-network. I’ve factory reset it, but my app can’t find it if it’s not connected directly, and even when it is, if I choose `Update Network` it tries to find nearby devices (which it fails), rather than updating the one it can see on the network. How do I change it?

I just spent a little over an hour with the sonos support team.  I can get every single band to work using the Relisten service through my sonos app. But it will not play any Widespread Panic.   The help desk told me to contact Relisten.  That it was a Relisten and Widespread Panic only issue. I found this to be,  once again, Sonos not taking responsibility for its actions.  Before the new Sonos App came out a year ago, I never once had an issue.  I just read the latest announcement from sonos management.  I guess that applies to everybody except Panic fans.  I'm very disappointed in being dismissed like that. Its a damn sonos problem and has been for a year now.

I have reached the limit of how many tracks I can index on my Connect 2.  I have thought about using FLEX but FLEX is notoriously bad for classical music and that forms the majority of my collection.  So I wondered if I could use two CONNECT 2s together?My music is held on a NAS and I would use two separate files on the NAS and link one CONNECT 2 to each file thus potentially doubling the amount of music that can be indexed and accessed. Is this possible?  If so, how would I do it? 

I have a pairs of Sonos Roam 2 speakers in stereo mode. One is 3-4 weeks old, the other a week old. Both were updated to the latest software while setting them up. When playing music, one of units cuts in and out. I have tried music from two different sources - it behaves the same. Both speakers have exhibited the problem. My guess is that this is a problem with the pairing software, but it is hard to tell. Any idea what is causing the problem? how do I troubleshoot this?

My Move speakers in my bedroom are set up as a stereo pair. If I grab one and take it to the bathroom while I shower, is it still in stereo? If I’m using it as a single speaker, I don’t want it in stereo. If it stays in stereo even while undocked, it’d be nice if there were a setting for that. 

I have an arc ultra with era 300 and dual subs. Can there be an update in the future for us to have up to 4 subs connected to arc ultra and era 300 in home theater setup. Thanks

I’ve made a significant investment in my SONOS system which includes:• 14 Amps• 5 Soundbars• 3 Subs• 3 Pairs of surround speakers• 2 Standalone speakers• 1 RoamMy system is set to update automatically overnight, yet with each major app or firmware update, the entire system fails to upgrade. Worse still, the app becomes unusable until the update is complete, which it never is, creating a loop of failed attempts and rendering the system non-functional.Despite multiple upgrade attempts, the system repeatedly fails to update several devices.The only workaround I’ve found is to manually power down the whole system and reintroduce each component one by one, a time-consuming and unacceptable process for a system of this calibre. Error 1005 is the main issue.This is not a connectivity issue; all devices are online and fully functional until your updates are pushed. Play five gen 2 wifi card is bad.  Only solution is get a 30% discount for a new speaker that can’t be paired with my current system.  So basically my very expensive Sonos “wireless” speaker is now junk.  Guess I’ll be selling the rest of my equipment and buying a system that actually works.  Thanks for the trash product, Sonos.

I have 2 Sonos speakers (1. “Dining Room” a Play: 5  2. “Kitchen” a Play:3  and a  Port (3.”Family Room”) which is connected (line-in) to my Denon receiver which is part of my home theater system.Both the Play:5 and Play:3 have been reset to work with S2 App.In the Sonos App I choose a song and check all components listed above and group them together.  But music won’t play through the Denon receiver or “Family Room”. I only hear music through speakers 1 & 2I can play around and sometimes via Apple Music AirPlay get them all synced.  But Apple Airplay only recognizes “Family Room” and “Dining Room”. Then I have to go on the Sonos App and choose “Kitchen”.This is a newer problem as I used to be able to get music to sync easily. But lately it is just trial and error.Any help is appreciated.  I hope this make sense!
