Does anyone know how I can permanently delete this from my home page?

Best answer by Corry P

Hi @Gaham et al

Thank you again for reporting this.

We have identified that there is an issue with Sonos Radio swim-lanes showing when they should not, and reappearing after they are removed, and we are investigating. We don’t have an estimate for when a fix might be put in place, but I will update this thread when I hear of it.

I hope this helps.

You cannot remove Sonos Radio.

I appreciate that but the latest app now has a  “Discover Sonos Radio” tab permanently pinned on the home page. It may be a bug because when I go into Sonos Radio to unpin the item it appears to work and the tab goes away only to return when the unpin setting is reset to on. The other explanation is that this will now be permanently pinned in which case there is still a bug because the App should not display the unpin option.

I don’t use Sonos Radio so I really don’t want anything more than the service icon on what is supposed to be My Home Page.

Hi @Gaham

Thanks for your post!

I am aware of new Sonos Radio swimlanes that new customers should see, but you mentioned a “tab”, and you are obviously an existing customer.

Could you please share a screenshot of what you see in the app, just so I know exactly what the problem is? Thanks.

Please also submit a diagnostic from the Sonos app on the same device and let me know when you have done so (without sharing the given number) here. Thanks.

It’s probably what you call a “swim lane” @Corry P

No bug, that’s expected behavior. I’ve got this too, as there is no subscription required to listen to Sonos curated stations. Corresponds to the 'You might also like...' feature of other music services.

If that's correct then the bug is allowing it to be unpinned, accepting that but then pinning it again.

There's definitely a bug the question is which issue is bug.

Tapping the collection opens a submenu. Tapping the 3 dots in the upper right corner won’t work?

This most recent update re-pinned these in my iOS client, I had to go back in and unpin them.

On the latest Android app unpinning gets overridden.

Perhaps the recommendations are an integration at app level, so an update might reset personal setting adjustments.

Interesting to note (and on reflection, makes sense) that the settings on my iPad transferred over to my iPhone as well, which suggests the data is still stored on the speakers, and not in the controller app itself.

Hi @Gaham

We are digging in to why you are seeing these in the first place, as you should not be, but I have been assured that removing them works - please go to Edit Home at the bottom of the Home Screen and remove the swim-lanes from there.

I hope this helps.

Hi @Corry P

Deleted from the swim lane:

The swim lane went.

Closed the app.

Restarted.

The swim lane is back.

Diagnostics submitted.

Attached screenshots should help.

@Gaham

Could you please try resetting the app - User Icon » App Preferences » Reset App » Reset. The app will then close - please reopen it afterwards and try removing the swim-lane once more.

If it is not permanently gone, please try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

Please let me know how you get on, even if it is unsuccessful. Thanks!

I hope this helps.

Hi @Gaham

If the above does not help, we think the swim-lane might be reappearing due to latency on the network - in other words, the speaker doesn’t receive the message about removing the swim-lane, so when the app (which only ever shows what speakers tell it to show) polls the speakers for what should be on the Home Screen, the swim-lane reappears.

Please reboot your router by switching it off for at least 30 seconds, then turn it back on again. If this does not help, please reboot the speakers and the device running the app.

If the swim-lane continues to return, I recommend you get in touch with our technical support team who have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your Sonos system and what it reports.

I hope this helps.

Sigh, mine keeps coming back too. I'll try the additional steps and see if it will go away.

At least I got it moved to the bottom of the page and out of my way.

Hi @Corry P

Resetting the App sort of works…

The Swim Lanes are gone but oddly still show in the Edit Home page tab. Images attached diagnostics submitted,

Hi @Corry P

After a complete reinstall a slightly different result.

Swim lane is not displayed on startup.

But it is on the Edit Home page which is OK but I suspect that this is not an intended behaviour,

Images attached and diagnostics submitted.

Thanks

Resetting didn't get them on the App, not aggravating enough to unplug all my speakers.

It appears to have gotten them gone on play.sonos.com though.

It can be weeks in between unpinning them and them reappearing!
