Good afternooon,i have purchased a new (Samsung) TV which has no optical output and i wanted to connect the play bar via HDMI/SPDIF converter.TV’s audio ouput is the HDMI connected to the converter.The optical cable that goes into the playbar has a signal (red beam is on).In the Sonos App, the playbar shows SPDIF selectedUnfortunately the playbar stays quit.Does the optical input need some ‘special’ configuration ? Regards,Gaston 

Sonos not connecting to my 9 years old samsung TV, It has arc hdmi port as well. I have latest sonos app installed in the iphone. I have changed HDMI cables but no change. Is it possible my 9 years old TV is not compitable? 

Hi,I currently have a fairly comprehensive Sonos-based sound system in my apartment with about 6 different speakered rooms. In my living room alongside my Sonos arc and surround Ones, I have an old Zenith record player console. I use it to play old records and occasionally listen to the radio. I believe its possible to wire the console into my Sonos system in such a way that I can play my records throughout the house and use the console as a speaker for spotify streams etc. by using the “Tape” output setting and connecting RCA cables to the sockets on the back of the player, but I’m looking for some guidance on doing this in case there are any drawbacks or potential pitfalls. There is also another “external speaker” output on the back which I’m not sure about. I don’t currently own a Sonos Amp or Port (I’m not sure which I’d need) so I’d want to make sure it would work before I tried one. Alternatively if there was a way to do this that didn’t cost $700 that would be great too. Below a

I have 2 speakers: a Roam 2 and a Roam SL.I successfully added both of them, only to notice that they were set up as 2 different systems. I factory reset my Roam SL, but when trying to add my Roam SL to the same system as my Roam 2, it tells me that I need to update the app, and when I click on the “Update Sonos App” button, it brings me to my browser to a page to update the Beta Controller App.I was a beta tester for the Roam 2 speaker, but I changed phone since then (from Galaxy S22 to a Pixel 9) in case it’s relevant.Could uninstalling the app, and re-install it fix the problem?

I have a Samsung Serif with audio being output via HDMI eARC to a mic mixer. The mixer can take HDMI input and can output HDMI or optical. The SONOS Ray only takes optical input so my current attempt at a karaoke setup is Serif → Mic Mixer via HDMI eARC → SONOS Ray via optical output. This isn’t working and I’m not sure why. This setup worked perfectly with my $70 Onn soundbar.

Directv over internet LG smart tv Genie receiver and remote Alexa and Echo Playbar and one OneSLThese were all installed separately over a period of years.  All software current…no observable or reported hardware problemsLast piece of kit was the Genie remote. After install, it worked just fine...I could adjust the volume of the speakers in the app or by using the volume button on the remote. Then...it just stopped.  Could not adjust the volume with either the remote or the app.  Have had to go back to the tv internal speakers, and that ain’t no fun when you’re watching Apocalypse Now. I have tried everything I can think of...uninstall and reinstall everything and unplug and plug back.  No Love. Any thoughts...anyone? Paul

One of my two bridges started flashing rapidly (white) and it was no longer visible on the app.I have tried everything (I think) including plugging direct into router and factory reset but nothing has produced the response that I am supposed to get.Although, sometimes I can get the light to stay solid even though still not “visible”Does this mean that the bridge itself kaput ? 

Hi!I am looking to add a second-hand speaker to my system. I‘ve encountered multiple fraudulent offers on online market places. One of the quick and easy safeguards I have begun using to determine an offer‘s legitimacy and accuracy is the devices serial number - usually there is already a picture showing it, or sellers are readily sharing this information as it doesn‘t contain private information.With the SN, I then contact Sonos support and get the date of first registration. A date, nothing else. No identifiable information. This worked twice in the past week. Customer service was fast, uncomplicated and helpful. Both times I (unfortunately) discovered that the sellers had provided false information on the device age (or to be precise: date of first registration - I‘m aware that I can read the manufacturing date straight from the SN without contacting support).Today, two separate customer service reps have rejected my request, stating that this information cannot be provided due to S

I always upgrade to the newest app the day it comes out but I already had the current one at that time which was the one before 80.17.09 and 80.17.07, and it did a system update to my new Arc Ultra.  The rear speaker balance sounded fine after I ran a full TruePlay on my system with two Era 300 rears and two Sub (Gen 3)s.(But why with the Arc Ultra is the option not allowed, greyed out, to adjust distance between surrounds which I never had different before anyway but previously I had it on 2ft to 10ft, and now it is greyed out on more than 10ft, or not allowed to change the phase of my subs, which should be independent by the way — as should volume, balance, bass, treble, and height controls be SEPARATE for Arc Ultra/Subs and SEPARATE for the Era 300 surrounds?)But once I did the system update to my hardware in 80.17.07 came the problem of the left era 300 being 10x louder than the right era 300 surround speaker!!!!  This is worse with TV Video than with music, as with music the left

I have in my Sonos system 1 Sonos Roam, 3 Sonos Play 1, 2 Sonos One Black e 1 Sonos One white. I'm having a problem updating my Sonos One Black (error30). I tried contact by chat and we tried everything (ethernet cable, turning off the router, etc..). We did a factory reset and now I can't add them in my system. It's a firmware problem. I'm from Brazil and I can't complete this call Anyone else having this problem? 

I have a Sonos Arc hooked up to my TV, when I'm playing music and turn the TV on it keeps playing music. The company who installed it used an optical to connect the two and the HDMI for a distributed video system. Is there a way to fix this without having to switch from Optical to HDMI?Thanks for the help.

Hi everyone,I have the Sonos amp and 4 Sonos ceiling speakers in our kitchen. The same amp also runs the Sonos sound bar and 2 One SL speakers in the living room.Every so often when I play playlists through the amp from my Amazon Music the songs stop suddenly after the first 15/20 seconds and move on to another song. At first I thought it was a preview of each song that I needed to turn off in the settings but then I realized that isn't the case. Is extremely frustrating having spent so much money on what you would assume is a quality system for it to be intermittent and ultimately so frustrating I turn it off.Another issue I have is sometimes my two one SL speakers cut out so I lose surround sound half way through a film and then they suddenly start working again off why I opened the app to see what's wrong.Just for context everything is quite close to each other and I have really good full fibre internet speeds and a good WiFi service within the house. Hello teams,I’m wondering to buy 2 ERA 100 for my home.I actually have a Yamaha YAS-207 soundbar (with a Yamaha Subwoofer) connected to my Samsung Smart TV via optical cable.The TV have a wifi connection to my internet box.My questions are: Is it possible to add the 2 Era 100 to this installation in order to simulate a 5.1 Home cinema ?If not (in this case I will sell my yamaha soundbar) , can I use the 2 ERA on my TV in Wi-FI ? Hi there - Has anyone noticed the varying sound quality adjustments that seem to come with the regular software updates since last year ? I have got a stereo pair of Era 300s set up as a stereo pair. Placement of these are pretty much in accordance with normal principles of equalised spacing in relation to the listening positions . Advanced true play enabled each time software updates are implemented with pretty much the same sequencing ( height movements etc) to minimise variations in the way Trueplay is done . Using pretty much the same test music material I have noticed changes in quality which required me to enable the tone controls to suit taste .  Recently it’s been quite marked with signification changes in the need to increase the treble output .  With the most recent update after Trueplay , treble control had now to be reduced such that the bass and treble controls are more or less flat .  Clearly the software updates have been to stabilise the app but how much of these change

What are your experiences with trueplay on 2x era 300, arc and sub mini? Is trueplay really better? Or should I use my own settings?

I recieved a Sonos email inviting me to ‘hear more with lossless on Apple Music’ by connecting my Apple Music app to Sonos.  I then clicked  on a  ‘LEARN MORE’ button which linked me to a page that says you can listen to both the Apple Music universe of music plus your own ‘entire library’. I followed the instructions to then connect Apple Music witrh Sonos but kept coming up with message saying ‘your Apple Music account access has expired’. It then asked me to re-authorise. I repeated  this multiple times, however it just kept looping back to the same expiry message without giving me access. I then tried all the suggestions in the following related Sonos Community thread without success: So finally, after going via the Sonos chatbot, livechat and finally a telephone call to customer service (0800 026 1526) I finally discovered that you can’t connect the apps without a paid for Apple Music subscriptions. Dear all,thanks to the valuable help of this community, I have focused on my desired setup.I need one last piece of advice on how to connect everything.Here’s a description:on the wall/screen side, I have my internet box and will have an Arc Ultra (can’t wait) on the other side of the room, I have a projector, which has 1HDMI + 1HDMI eARC.  TV signal is provided by a decoder (UHD 4K/atmos) which can either be on the wall side (connected in ethernet to the internet box) or on the projector side (connected in wifi to the box). The decoder has one HDMI plug.One option I guess would be to have the decoder on the projector side, connected in wifi to the internet box, and to the projector through HDMI, and use the eARC port of the projector to connect to the Arc Ultra. But maybe the connection of the decoder through Wifi (6) will be a bit limitative.I was wondering if you guys saw another setup. I’d rather not use the optical in if possible as I need it for another source. I am also intere

In a house with 5 amps, one zone plays music on its own randomly.Why?

Many problems with music library. Navigation is difficult without being able to see the alphabet at the side.Not possible to create playlists. Tidal playlists work but the beauty is being able to link other sources in a playlist.The things that made Sonos good are gone.

How do I adjust the output balance between my main Arc soundbar and my 2 surround sound speakers? The predominant sound is emitting from the sound bar and I want to increase the bias to the back of my room.

Sonos tech support advice: “buy a new router or hard wire the blue tooth speaker 🤦🏻‍♂️.  Obviously the speakers are not stable. speakers go t1ts up every time the App updates and they regularly drop out. Takes ages to “turn off the on again” and the speakers struggle to find the network.Sending the 100’s back along with speaker stands.Probably our last ever purchase from Sonos.All our other WiFi / blue tooth tech works fine.   

Hi,I tried troubleshooting this with Sonos Customer Support to no avail. I’m trying to trueplay tune my home theatre setup which consists of a Beam Gen 2, sub mini and 2 play 1s for surround. It fails every time midway through the test and asks for me to try again. Help!
