Can someone please recommend a third party universal remote that will work with the ray soundbar. I've tried all the tricks and tips suggested but still can't get my Samsung remote to pair.

Any IR remote should work. You’d just need to train the Sonos Ray to recognize it, using the appropriate process in the controller.

I’m actually more interested in why you haven’t been able to get the Samsung remote to work. What did Samsung’s customer support say?

The Samsung remote is RF. The Ray requires IR.

Indicate to the SAMSUNG that you want to control an audio system. Specify an arbitrary manufacturer and use the same manufacturer as you configure the RAY.

Or a random DVD/Bluray player, all of which work on IR (especially if they don’t have CEC HDMI-ARC), which should switch the remote to IR.
