Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Good morning to you all,In a nutshell :Is using from Play-5 local source input but without wifi / internet , possible or not ?Let me explain:For one day, I would like to take one or 2 SONOS Play 5 (2nd gen.) from my home to be able to play a ‘virtual organ’, which is an app on my iPad, during an orchestra rehearsal. The iPad is connected to a midi keyboard by a USB cable to avoid any latency. The organist plays on this midi keyboard.I have a few questions about this projectI'm connecting the stereo headphone output (3.5mm stereo minijack) on my iPad to the local source input on the Sonos play 5. Is this possible without using either Wi-Fi/internet or the Sonos App?   If so, am I guaranteed not to add latency by using this local analogue input?   Will I be able to adjust the volume using the usual buttons on the Sonos Play 5?   Can I also use a cable that sends the left channel audio signal to one Sonos play 5 and the right channel audio signal to the second Sonos play 5?  Thank you in

Hey Sonos, could you consider of textile cushions for Sonos Ace to buy as replacements?Textile ear cushions, such as the Air Pods Max, provide much better ventilation for long time listening.

I recently tried to create a new alarm, just to notice that everytime I choose a song I get thrown out off the alarm and won’t be able to choose a song for the alarm.

I appreciate there are probably some old threads about this but a) I can’t find them and b) they’re probably closed to new comments.I have an Arc and two Era 300s. The plan was to use the Eras for surround sound, but I was underwhelmed with the sound until I tried them as a stereo pair for music which I loved. So if that’s the way I use them, relying on surround from the Arc itself. But that’s left me with a worse surround setup than I intended. So… can I have both if I get one more Era 300?My room has an Arc on one wall by the TV and the Era speakers either side of the fireplace on another wall. I have an L-shaped sofa but what I want to do is add a third Era 300 and dynamically switch them as a stereo pair or as a surround for the Arc. Note that this means one of the speakers would be in either one of those configurations at any given time. In my diagram: stereo = black + blueSurround = orange + blueI wouldn’t have thought being able to change speakers like this would be such a rare

When I sign in as an account, I can’t transfer ownership of the system, which means I cant set alarms or add/remove speakers from the “system”. I also cant play anything else than the Sonia radio! (I have a play:3) 

Hi guy,Hopefully someone can help.My set up is an arc, sub and amp with ceiling speakers. All works fine but I’ve added a stereo pair of era 100s to the mix. I’ve have grouped the era 100s to the home theatre set up but I’m expecting drop outs from the 100s. Is there anyway to stop the drop outs ? Do I remove the ceiling and amp from the home theatre set up and add the era 100s to the home theatre and group the ceiling speakers and amp as a stereo pair ?There must be a solution, I know you can’t add more than one pair of speaker to a set up but seen people add an additional pair and group them together.any ideas would be appreciated 👍🏻

I’ve just registered on the Sonos developer portal https://developer.sonos.com/ After signing in, there’s no option to create API keys. Am I missing something? The page only has the option to “Get Started” which takes you to the documentation. 

Hi, After Sonos' awesome systems update, some radio stations no longer play from the Sonos app. I wrote to support via chat, where they said to call by phone. I called technical support, where I hung up on the phone for several hours with no result. In the end, the tech rep collected the contact information and said they would escalate the issue. Several weeks around and all are gone. :) Very good customer service!

I use my Sonos speakers in an office as background music but even on volume 1, the music is too loud. Is there any way to fine-tune it?

Hi - looking for help as I haven’t found a solution online. I am hanging a Samsung Frame above a fireplace. I have power where the TV is going and would like to install a recessed box with power behind the TV. I need to mount a Sonos Arc underneath the TV and run power up to the TV that meets code. I don’t have power below or near the soundbarA solution like Legrand or other dual outlets won’t work as I don’t see how that can hook into the recessed box. Seems as if a single connection option is needed - power from recessed box at TV down to soundbar.i have to assume there is a solution. Any ideas someone could help with?Thank you very much!

Hi all, just bought a lovely Play 3 ... but it's on the Sonos app and I need to downgrade it to Sonos S1. I'm following the instructions in the Sonos app but get continual error messages when trying to do the required update. Any help welcome.

As mentioned in another post. Sonos alarm never seems to be able to turn on the radio. Instead it goes for a chime. The suggestion in the post is super annoying. Try to wake the system up. The problem isn’t that the radio is unavailable it is just not able to connect or something. But when I turn off the chime the radio always works! Like always. Why don’t Sonos wait 30 seconds for the radio to be switched to Chime. Because the chime noise is perhaps the most annoying thing ever to get awoken by. This morning I also tried the idea of waking the network. So it has been super awake.It’s just Sonos which is slow. Please fix this.

For the past few years, my both my playbars attached to identical TVs have worked fine, then a few months ago, they both started stuttering playing TV audio.  3-10 seconds of stuttering, or choppy audio every 5-10 minutes.  It suspect a sonos software issue that was introduced in an upgrade, but i don’t konw.  I tried reseting, powering off everything.  I tried lchanging the audio format, I tried compressed Audio, I changed to Stereo (which would be dumb as everything is supposed to support surround)  I have a playbar, sub, a one and a one SL in each room, both have the same problem.  All apps have the same problem, the TVs are TCL. 

For about a month I have been unable to play any compilations. It’s because the bug, acknowledged by Sonos, that was rolled out like a month ago. With the bug, all albums are sorted by song artist, rather than album artist. This makes many copies of albums. I have some albums where it gets listed 20 times!I can’t imagine this hasn’t been fixed yet - it’s been a month. If it has been fixed, what do I need to do to my system to get everything right again?

Prior to the new Sonos app, when speech enhancement was turned on, it stayed on until turned off. Now I find it gets turned off randomly so I end up checking it every time my television is turned on. Curious if anyone else has experienced this. 

Here’s my setup:living room: two Sonos ERA 100 stereo with a subdining room: ERA 300 with a subThe problem is that when I pair the sub with the 300, the sub HPF filter automatically neuters the 300. I don’t want this. I haven’t checked the settings for a while. Questions (and I only use these for music, not for HT):Is it possible to change the filter in the ERA 300 to allow the unit to go deeper and/provide double bass? Is there still a limitation where you can’t connect 2 subs to a Sonos room if used just for music?

Hey, all - now that Apple Lossless is released for some Sonos products, it’s time to consider an upgrade.My current listening set-up is a stereo pair of Play:3s with a sub (gen 2).Given that Apple Lossless will not play over Play:3s, I am ready to upgrade to a pair of 5s.My question is: if I connect my gen 2 sub to the pair of 5s, will that negate the ability to play Apple Lossless? 

Is anyone suddenly having a problem connecting to Apple Music?  Neither the iPhone nor the PC Sonos app is connecting.  The PC app shows a black screen with “We’ve run into a problem.  Try again.”  The iPhone app shows “An error occurred with Apple Music.  Try again later.”  This first occurred October 15.  Multiple resets results in the same problem and same error messages.  BTW, there is no problem with Apple Music.  Apple Music plays immediately and dependably from all Apple devices.

I just hooked up my 6 era 100 speakers to my cd player with a preamp. i had cd music from all 6 speakers until I unhooked player and then tried to re establish contact.  I can now only get play from direct line speaker.  How do I reconnect all speakers? 

Has anyone had the issue with a Play5 Gen 2 randomly dropping off system with orange and white flashing LED. That reappears with a power cycle?  I bought 2 play 5 gen 2 a few years back to use as a stereo pair. 1 of them recently has started to drop out and display a flashing orange and white LED. If I power cycle it fixes the problem for a day or two. They are built into our cabinets and are a pain in the neck to get at to power cycle. I’ve now run Ethernet cables to both but the issue remains. Sonos support says my amplifier has a fault and have said they can give me 30%off a new one but I would need to buy 2 as the new 5 won’t pair with the old! Just seems strange that a power cycle can resolve a hardware issue? Anyone had a similar issue? Or have any other ideas on a fix?   

I know nothing is truly “future proof”. But thought about how my dad’s old speakers were still usable 50 years later because they shared a common standard wiring and plugs.  what happens to a Sonos speaker once we get to wifi7? Or WiFi stand v10 and beyond?I’m assuming there’s some degree of firmware updates. But is there a possibility sooner rather than later the hardware/wireless radios might become unusable with a new standard?

So I have studiously avoided upgrading from the S2 app (16.1).  My Era 300s and Arc are working just fine etc. so waiting until the Sept release of the ‘New’ App to see if they get everything straightened out in the app.I have a pair of Play 3s that have been in the closet for a few months (replaced by Era 300s)  and I brought them back out today and tried to use them and the S2 app says they need an upgrade which I am afraid to do cause I think it will mess up the S2 app and put my other working stuff at risk.Can I do the upgrade the Play 3s are asking for without messing up everything else or is it all one bucket and you have to do it all if you change any of it?Thanks!

Hey,I already bought this turntable a couple of years ago, but i’m trying to plug it in the Sonos Ampin the Analog Audio In with the RCA Audio Cable from the turntableAfterwards I follow the instructions from the manual to start playbackThe Sonos App shows there is a Line In connection but it doesn’t play on my speakers.It shows a sort of signal from playing and I heard that my Turntable plays a number.Also switched the button on the turntable to switch from phono to line and reverse.I’ve already tried so many things but I can’t get it to work.Can somebody help me?Best regards,Mark

HelloI have Sonos Arc and I have Optoma projector. I have connected everything correctly and they both work correctly, independently.When I try to get the audio from Arc instead of the project itself I start to face compatibility issues. I contacted Optoma and they have been working from their end to find a resolution. Last week they sent me this email regarding the issue:“Thank you for your patience in this matter, we are working diligently but we would also like provide you more depth. The eARC compatibility issue between Optoma’s UHZ66 and Sonos ARC is the result of unconventional CEC timing by the Sonos ARC. Optoma has attempted to “compensate” (workaround) for the timing with limited success yet continues to be work in progress. We strongly recommend reporting this issue to Sonos (as well). We will provide an update to this situation in the coming weeks.”I need help on this issue. is there anyone from the Arc product development team that can advise on this CEC timing issue? Can i

Many of my albums show up only as individual songs when I open my Music Library.  This happened within the last week.  Since currently there is no option to rebuild the music library on my OS app I instead went to my MAC OS and Updated the Library that way.  However, this had no effect.  Can anyone recommend a solution?  Very irritating to have to play each song individually instead of just playing the album.  Also, on my SONOS OS app I cannot even figure out how to create a queue.  Did they do away with this in the last update?
