I recall I used to be able to play my local (NAS server) music files when the internet was down.
However, lately, I’ve discovered that I can’t even get the app to load win order to select my local NAS server.  As my internet service has become less reliable, this has become more important.
(I did not see this exact issue brought up on this forum… which seems odd)

Not sure what I’m doing wrong.  I have no issues playing my NAS files when there is internet connectivity.

Hi @BradNTulsa

Sorry to hear that!

I see you have a Sonos One - do you also have an Apple device like an iPhone, iPad or Mac? Preferably a Mac. If so you could stream music to your Apple device from the shared folder that stores your music and AirPlay it from there to the Sonos One. To be clear, this would depend on the device being allowed to browse a network share and I assume you would need a third-party app for that on an iPhone or iPad, which is why a Mac would be more likely to work, or more simple to get working, at least.

Holding the Play button on any other speakers while this is playing will make that speaker join in too.

I hope this helps.

Hi @BradNTulsa

Thanks for your post!

Sorry to hear of the trouble you’ve been having accessing your Music Library. We are aware of this issue preventing users from accessing their local libraries while there is no internet access to the controller (Sonos app).

We are investigating, but we have no estimate for when a fix might be put in place. I will update this thread when I hear of a resolution to this issue being implemented.

I hope this helps.

Thank you very much for the quick reply.
I hope they are able to fix this soon.

After hurricane Helene, power has finally stabilized - but not as much for cable.  So there is no music at all when the internet is down again.

Use a third-party app, they should be fine without an internet connection.
