I recently noticed whilst watching certain programmes that my arc ultra makes a strange metallic squeak type sound from what I believe to be the side speakers only playing certain frequencies. I watched buy now the shopping conspiracy on Netflix on my Bose soundbar in the bedroom and it sounded fine then I decided to watch it with my partner downstairs through the arc ultra and some of the background music had a strange high pitched metallic sound emanating from the side speakers. I have also noticed it on other programmes with background music or sound effects but just thought I was being paranoid. It almost sounds like some high frequency distortion. I have tried truplay enabled and without and it’s still there, connected to a Sony a80j using EARC and good quality hdmi cables. Has any one else noticed this or do I have an issue with my unit?
Contact Sonos support and have them check it out. Maybe generate a diagnostics report too.
I'd contact support, if you can provide a recording and the source and time of the noise it would give them a good starting point.
Same as original Arc...Sonos first of all does not know how to rectify this..So no use to contact Sonos support. Arc and arc ultra is missing some passive components of beam gen 2...not sure if the issue is due that
But even if, and that’s a supposition on your part, they don’t have a solution, wouldn’t giving them additional evidence be useful to assist in finding a resolution? And give them more support in estimating the number of users that may be affected? I’d certainly think it better than suffering alone with the issue, hoping they can resolve it.

Which passive components are missing?
I think that all such incidents should be reported. This will supply more data to help track down the issue that might be limited to a certain production batch. If you want to be cynical, consider each report to be tracked as a “cost” for SONOS support. An uptick in reports will result in more resources being allocated to resolve the issue — in order to reduce costs.
Checked online..it says passive radiators on beam gen 2 and it also explicitly says it
Supports "reinforcement to low end frequencies in beam gen 2"...but with neither arc or arc ultra ever heard of this term or adverstiment...may be issues like tinny voice and metallic sound of arc or arc ultra are due to missing passive radiators
