Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Ok, what I want to do is to remove SonosNet completely and use only ethernet and wifi for my devices. Here’s what I have:PlayBar Roam V2 6 x Play:1I originally setup SonosNet for my network pre-wifi-on-sonos being a thing.I want to keep the Playbar and one of the Play:1s connected via ethernet, and have the rest use WiFi.  I want to disable SonosNet completely.  I have seen suggested processes that say to disable wifi everywhere first (I can’t disable wifi on my devices, the option does not exist anywhere on the app that I can find).   I’ve seen countless posts saying “If your devices are disconnected from ethernet they’ll just use wifi if it’s configured”.  I have both my 2.4ghz and my 5ghz networks configured to Sonos,  Sonos tells me they’re they’re and available, yet none of my devices are using it except for the Roam.  I followed advice that says I need to factory reset my Play:1s to add them to wifi (including the app telling me to do this).  So I tried it.  When I re-add them, t

My TVs main audio is connected to my Beam and it works just fine but when I try to connect it to my Kitchen Amp speakers, audio comes through for just a split second then stops. I can play any other audio source through my kitchen speakers but not my TV. I can also play my TV audio through other Amp speakers I have throughout the house but not the kitchen.  Thoughts?

So I had a cunning plan. I was going to rip all my old CD’s and play them through a couple of Sonos speakers. The speakers are great, but I am struggling to find a device to play them throughI tried a Brennan, but the poor UI, lack of a dedicated app, and limitations of file format and slow ripping performance has meant it is less than optimal. I could but a NAS on there, but I would like a box that contained online access with physical controls (and if it could connect to internet radio and streaming services, even better). I’m am looking at the WiiM Ultra, but Sonos dedicated support seems to be still in Beta, or unclear.Has anyone got any better suggestions? 

I bought arc ultra and connected to sony tv. TV keep changing it to external speaker instead of TV speaker. i don’t want to use external speaker all the time and turn on Arc only when I needed  

I bought new ERA 100 speakers and suddenly AirPlay stopped working in several speakers/rooms all the time. It was total chaos and I hated Sonos.Sonos Setup: Arc, with sun and satellites. 2 ERA 100 in Stereo pair, Move and two ikea speakers in two different rooms.WiFi setup: Ubiquity UniFi with Wifi 6 APs and USG Pro.I spent ALOT of time troubleshooting and started to get crazy, when I finally seemed to have found a viable solution. Sonos is apparently extremely picky with the frequencies and WiFi settings in general, but what solved it for me was to:Set the WiFi channel to 1, 6 or 11 depending on what channel you’ve set the Sonos net to (it should not be the same)  Set the channel width to 20mhz.    Lock the speakers to a certain WiFi-accesspoint (wifi hardware) in the UniFi portal.    Disable the 5 GHz frequencies on that particular accesspoint. So EVERY speaker stream on the same bandwidth (2,4Ghz in my case, but I suppose you could force them all to 5ghz also, but I have other IOT s

I currently own 2 x era100 (stereo paired) & 1 x Move 1I am considering to buy 1 more Move1 to form an other pairCan I then connect the two stereo pairs together in the same room?Is it worth it? 

Read a few posts about sub mini not maintaining connection to the Sonos Amp and I have the same issue. They are 5 or 6m apart with a wall between them. It seemed to be stable for about 3 days but is still dropping out regularly enough to be annoying. I’ve read about cabling the sub mini and in the posts I’ve read people suggest that is to the router, but I would have thought to the amp makes sense as it’s WiFi connection to my home network, certainly in my case, is stable. Am I just reading it wrong and a cable from amp to sub will resolve the issue? I do have a home network, but have actually found my Sonos devices work better wirelessly (the WiFi coverage is good), I’m assuming because, other than the sub mini, they use their own Sonosnet network? It would be a pain, but it’s feasible that I could run a cable between Amp and sub, but didn’t want to start drilling any holes until I was sure! Thanks!  

The audio settings in the app, eq, etc are gone again today. Reappeared yesterday for a day and gone again. Why is this happening? 

Hi,When I play Podcasts via the Pocket Casts Service on my Sonos system I get US adverts but I am in the UK. I have checked my Sonos profile and it says that I am based in the UK.If I play the same Podcast using the Pocket Casts app on my phone then I get the UK Ads.Is there any other setting that can be changed to fix this?Thanks

My new sub 4 initially connected to my arc ultra then noted it was no longer working and disappeared from the iPhone app. I have tried to connect it again. It goes all the way through the process and says connected to system but checking settings it says sub 4 not connected and no sound. I have tried factory restarting, resetting app, deleting app and starting fresh with arc ultra and sub 4 and resetting router and nothing works, any ideas

My BBC Sounds plugin has stopped working. Fine yesterday afternoon, but had stopped working by 10pm, still not working today. I just get a meessage saying “BBC Sounds couldn’t play Radio 4. Try again”Not working when invoked via either phone or tablet; Not working on any Sonos device, including wired devices. Other content (Sonos stations, Spotify) works fine.I’ve tried all the usual stuff which never works (cycling power on devices, cycling power on router), to no avail…….

I use the apple music but I cannot start station as before. How to fix it. 

Hi, I have recently upgraded my router and now my Beam, Sub and Surround Play 1s won’t work correctly unless the Beam is connected by Ethernet. Sonos help helped but after the best part of a day and numerous system reboots/resets I was told it’s down to the router not having split bands…? Vodafone showed me how to change it to compatibility mode, but still no use.  

Just ordered an Arc Ultra to replace my trusty Beam gen 1 which I’ve been using via my TVs optical out. All 4 of the HDMI ports on my TV are used, and as I now want Atmos on the Arc and therefore have to use the TV’s eARC port, I’m looking at a splitter/switch. Current ports are 1 - Virgin, 2 - 4K Blu-ray, 3 (eARC) - PS5, 4 - Switch 2. Only ports 3 and 4 are 2.1 spec.The obvious choice would be to use HDMI4 with a 2 in/1 out switch for the consoles, and connect the Arc to HDMI3. However, is there a splitter (not a selectable switch) with which I could connect to HDMI3 (eARC) on the single port side, then connect the Arc and PS5 to the dual port side? This would take the PS5 signal in one direction, and eARC audio in the other, through the single cable connected to the TV, and the splitter. Hope this makes sense.

Hi,Since the new Sonos app update, the “View Album” option is missing when selecting a track from Apple Music.This feature was very useful to quickly jump from a single song to the full album.It would be great if this option could be reintroduced in a future update, as it really improves the listening experience for album listeners.Thanks for considering this request!Eric

UNC campus ITS will not allow Sonos on UNC wifi.  I have 4 rooms that I need synced music, for a 2 hour period before every football game.  Was going to try a Verizon mifi device with ethernet port, attach it to one of the Sonos 100, then create the SonosNet.  Question, what are the chances that speakers that are 40 feet away will catch the SonosNet, or said another way, whtat’s the distance that this configuration might work?

If you have 5 minutes and want to avoid the same rathole, read on.I purchased a refurb ERA 100.  It came but was basically DOA.  I returned it and got another refurb.  This one at least tried to connect.  After hours with tech support and after resetting all my wifi stuff (as well as my neighbor’s wifi, ok, not quite)  I got it to connect to an existing sonos system with 4 well used and stable devices, 2 Play1’s, a One SL, and a Port.  Three days later it was no longer connected.  Nothing changed.  Power was on, the other 4 units are still connected.  So I gave up and decided to get them to honor the money back guarantee.  Then things really started to go downhill.  I was able to process an RO online but they never sent a shipping label.  I called weekly.  I chatted.  I emailed, I emailed the CEO.  It has been over two weeks, still no label.  During the email exercise they decided that to be helpful they would cancel the RO.  Still no shipping label.  All I want to do is return this th

I have a Harmony Hub that talks to a Sonos Connect.The routine I set up works perfectly EXCEPT I cannot seem to get the Sonos device to affect “PLAY” through the Harmony activity (music source is Pandora). After Harmony gets all devices in the proper “state”, I can THEN go to the Sonos app and the Harmony routine has selected the proper Pandora channel. but will not start playing music. I can (in the Sonos app) click “PLAY” and then all is well, but I cannot seem to get the Harmony activity routines to include “PLAY” even though that command is one of the options on the Sonos device.I’ve also tried sprinkling in PAUSE DELAYs as well, no joy.FWIW I had this working but this stopped working after a recent electrical storm (all devices still work fine, just the “PLAY” operation will not work through the Harmony activity).

We can ignore my previous setup - I factory reset my Play:1, connected to router (eero) via Ethernet and when I go to Manage Networks / Update Network, it displays “We are unable to find a compatible product to update. You can try factory resetting the product to reconnect it to your network.”  I recently changed my network SSID (quite a normal practice). My goal is to disconnect the Ethernet cable and have the Sonos Play:1 successfully identify the new network.When I first connected the Ethernet cable (before factory reset), it picked up the Play:1 (connected by cable), and three other devices — which is a bit strange, given they were on the old network (but I thought, maybe the new network has propagated.) anyway, with no success configuring the new network SSID and being able to disconnect the Ethernet cable, I was forced to do a factory reset.Somewhere else, someone said I had to do an IP Reservation for the Sonos Play:1 device (and all other devices) and that didn’t solve the issu

My left surround is 2 feet away and my right is more than 10 feet away.  After doing Trueplay, both surrounds show more than 10 feet away.  Any idea why the surround distance isn’t accurate when doing Trueplay tuning on iPhone?

I trying to set up a stereo pair of Era 300s using a line-in connection from my TV. I have tried multiple paths including using an HDMI extractor and more recently using an A/V receiver to do the same. Both setups have the same issue. The speakers turn off at repeatable locations in movies, generally when things get quiet. Are there any settings that can be used to stop the speakers from turning themselves off? 

This is a feature request, I would love DTS-HD / DTS:X on my Sonos sound system. I have a lot of 4k Blu-ray’s that are mastered in DTS. As a premium sound system, it feels weird to not have this feature. I love my system, this is pretty much the only negative!

My TruePlay tuning just stops at this screen and does not play test tones since I updated the speakers to V17.1 

SONOS IS THE WORST F****** SOUND SYSTEM EVER, it never works, connectivity is awful, ALL THE TIME. Thank god I purchased from Costco because ai am heading over and returning all my speakers , over $2k , bytes be ware , SONOS DOES NOT WORK, but they still charge you a f*** lot of money for their Minimum Viable Product Speakers.
