Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

I’m beyond annoyed that these speakers randomly recognize the wifi, one speaker plays at a time OR they will no longer group and strangely enough, 2 different songs will play at the same time while using Spotify even though I have one account. it is absolute madness!They used to be paired. They used to work! what happened???

My Samsung TV only has hDMI ARC and no optical port. As the Ray is optical only, will a converter like this work https://amzn.eu/d/fyaQpn7Or am I best just getting a Beam? 

Sonos deletes songs from my playlists and substitutes them for other songs in My Music. Why, and how do I stop this happening?

I have a new Sonos setup (2 x Era 100 speakers with a Sub Mini).  It works perfectly with my iPhone 16 over Airplay 2, and on my mac mini it works fine using the Sonos App.However, my mac mini refuses to connect to it via the system “sound” settings.  I can see the Sonos, but when I try to connect it just fails.  I also cannot cast any audio using the Apple Music app, or any third party all for that matter.I have tried restarting both the Mac and Sonos system to no avail.  Ideally, I want to use the Sonos speakers as my Mac speakers, for all music/musics, etc.  I cannot be restricted to use within the Sonos app.They are both on the same network, so that is not the issue.  Any ideas?

I am using Sonos1.added MyTuner as a service to Sonos.like to Play Station MyTuner: FilSwissFM.This station does not play via Sonos.using MyTuner as stand alone app, FilSwissFM plays through MyTuner.please find the reason why Sonos can not play this station and correct the problem.

Have the S2 app on an iPad and iPhone. iPhone looses the height setting on my ERA 300’s and the Sub Audio setting on sub-mini multiple times per day. 300’s are a stereo pair with the sub mini. The settings stay as set on my iPad. What causes that? All things are updated.

I have been using my Play 5 Gen 1 for a couple of months now and thought I would share some thoughts. I managed to find an excellent used, boxed model will all documents and original leads as I am on a limited budget. I owned one previously, but sold it chasing the holy grail of hi-res and voice control!Why this model? I live in a nursing home with very poor WI-FI and find the Play 5 Gen 1 with S1 Controller connects to the poor WI-FI with ease and complete stability. I have borrowed later Sonos speakers to try and they do not like nursing home Wi-Fi systems. Yes, the older Play 5 limits you to cd quality, but I doubt my old ears can now appreciate higher quality 🙂. For me, the sound is mellow and easy, with just enough clarity. Because of my condition, I listen for several hours a day every day. I have never experienced the volume dropping or any dropouts with prolonged use; as with some of my previous speakers.I use Tidal, which offers some unusual music and has a pleasant UI, BBC S

I have several SOnos Ray used tor speakers connected to TVs via optical cable. All TVs have IR remotes. But Sonos Ray is not able to learn the volume keys from most of the TVs.When setting up the Ray it clearly registers the signal from the remote (the LED light up on the Ray) but the app continiues to fail and saying it does not register when prompted to press 3 times.I have read it could be due to the remotes using the common “Toggle Bit” feature. So trying the tips related to covering the remote IR diode every second press to get the Ray to learn the remote with no succes. 

First this small entry from the ‘Spotify’ community for the background. I seem to not be the only one struggling with it: Spotify will play track A, continue to B.Then it stops, while showing it's still playing A, but at the end.If I hit 'Next' it will play B again.So, I have to hit 'Next' again to go to track C.It will play C, then D.And then it stops, showing it's still playing C.I have to again hit 'Next' twice to go to E. I have the above problem, and after a few weeks of non-interrupted music, it started again.And I think it has to do with Sonos alarms, or with a lack of proper communication between Sonos and Spotify. Below are:(A) for the Alarm Song,(X) for the song that was running before the alarm started, and(N1) for new song 1 and (N2) for new song 2. Sonos was playing an alarm song, (A).I launched Spotify (desktop).In Spotify, the playing alarm song (A) was not seen. I’ve got 2 Era 300s that I’m trying to use as rear speakers in a surround setup. They’re mounted on the wall right above my sofa (about 90 cm directly above my head/listening position), as I had some custom brackets made so the speakers can point straight down toward the listening position.The issue is that the system won’t let me set them up like this – it throws an error as soon as the speakers are placed facing down toward the floor. Has anyone run into this before or found a workaround? Hope some of you guys can help 😊  

I have a Sonos TV system consisting of an Arc soundbar (wired), a subwoofer, and two Era300 speakers with Asus ZenWifi XD6 communications. The sound from the speakers is extremely choppy. It's impossible to hear the music. I previously had Sonos Ones instead of the Era300s, and I changed them to see if it was a hardware issue, but it wasn't. Now it's even worse. It stutters much more than before. I've tried everything: turning off the router, waiting two minutes, reinstalling the entire system. Even the recommendations given by IA: Disable Airtime Fairness, Disable QoS, Disable Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), …The Asus mesh system (one node on the same TV room) works great. Any advice will be highly appreciated.

Hi all,I tried many time after updating to iOS 26 and wanted to connect with Sonos app to my Sonos play 1. But it does not work and even when I connect cable it works but once I take out the cable again it is gone and not working. Anyone know the issue ? Thanks 

I had all my Sonos on one app. I was able to group all my speakers in any scheme. Now I am setting up my system after getting back in house after flood and I have to run two apps. What happened. Two of my speakers are “not compatible” with sonos1 app. I lost my capability to group my speakers    I have called Sonos and spent time in phone deleting system adding app adding speakers again resetting speakers deleting apps adding other apps WTH. I also can’t use Sonos I had on my laptop. Web app doesn’t work. Sonos app doesn’t work sonos1 app doesn’t work  what happened?I am so frustrated over such a simple thing to do  

My phone is not capable of iOS 17, so I can’t download the update to the Sonos app. How can I then “add a device” (2 x era 300’s)?thanks

I have a multi-zone Creston system with 2 Denon Amps that I’m looking to convert to Sonos.  I’m assuming i can connect to all my wired speakers and TV’s but what Sonos device(s) do i need to tie them all together (Port or other)?  How many do I need if I’m trying to establish 5 different zones?  Thank you for your insights.  Adam

I not be able to add sub mini with Zone to create home theater2 EAR300 in front 2 EAR100 at the backWith 1 sub mini  When I connect sub mini with one of the speaker then I not beable to see that speaker when I create zone.  

I was having issues with speakers dropping from my system. When I reset them and tried to re-add them, they consistently said they could not connect to my Wifi. I tried restarting my router, factory resetting my speakers (repeatedly), connecting with an Ethernet cable (which worked but only as long as it stayed wired, which wasn’t a viable solution). I reset my app, deleted and reinstalled my app. Upgraded my system… none of it worked. The only speakers that would connect were my old Sonos Ones—which led me to my Wifi frequencies. My router has 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, and they are not entirely separate (you can’t turn one off and not the other). My phone automatically connects to the ‘best channel available’ which is probably the 5Ghz, and the Sonos speakers only seem to use that bandwidth for interspeaker communication.Ultimately I did what I had resisted and gave each a unique SSID and password (sub-optimal, as it makes it so my network isn’t dynamically switchable). I'm having trouble to connect my zp90 to my Sonos setup/network. I have the S1 app and have a play:5(gen1) connected. I used to have my own soundsystem connected with the zp90, but moving some parts I can't seem to get the zp90 online again. I'm following the instructions on the S1 app but can't seem to find the device, even if connected to the router with LAN cable. The zp90 just keeps blinking very fast white light. What am I missing? How to set up the zp90 these days?

Since 2014, you have gone from bad to worse. While your sound remains great (who’s isn’t?), your lackluster software upgrades / support have been a perpetual joke. How are you still competing with superior vendors, one might ask?  I’ll leave that to others to discover.

for years I used the apple music app on phone/mac/apple tv. I find the interface intuitive. If I search for an artist, it shows that artist with the option to navigate to albums, songs, "artist essentials" ect. In sonos app, I don't get that. If I search for an artist, the results are just mashed together. It makes exploring the work of an artist almost impossible. For reasons unclear to me, the interface through the sonos app is different for the worse. Im I missing something?

I have 2 x Generation 1 Sonos Roams. One white and one black.I changed my WiFi Router a month ago and had to reconnect all my Sonos kit.For some reason I have never been able to reconnect the Black Roam to my WiFi. The White Roam works fine.I noticed that the "Find Missing Speakers" tool has disappeared from the App, and when  I used "Add New Speakers" feature it doesn't find my Black Roam.I can still use it as a Bluetooth speaker and I can transfer music across from any home speaker to the black Roam as per the switch feature. I suspect my black Roam is missing an essential update because I know in past the Speakers have gone missing when they aren't updated. However since I have a new Router I am unable to update the Roam speaker. Help?

I can only connect our classic Hub via Ethernet cable + Play:3 speakers / or my Playbar via cable to Router – yet not both in the S2 app. Any suggestions how to fix this?

I understand sonos does not support DTS:X or DTS-HD Master.  What I am trying to wrap my head around is: if the DTS:X or DTS-HD Master signal is “passed through” my tv or device, does sonos 1. play it as full dtsx/dts-hd, or 2 convert it to pcm and discard height info, or 3. not play it at all…??? Also, if I route it through an apple tv and it converts it to pcm,  does sonos then play that (without the height data?Sorry for being a noob...
