Question

Trueplay not initiating on home theater set up (beam + era100s)

Trueplay works on individual components of my system. But when I create the home theater set up, I cannot get Trueplay to initiate. I am able to do the first balancing step but the final Trueplay walk around the room step does not begin.

Error says unable to perform Trueplay at this time. Try again later.

Is the room completely silent meaning no AC blowing through vents, microwave or other internal/external noise. I had a cable box that messed up TruePlay which I had to uplug to quiet the room.

Make sure the app is updated as well as your Sonos hardware.

What iOS device are you using to run TruePlay?

Hiya!  Using iPhone 17 pro to attempt the tuning.  Phone and Sonos app up to date. Case off and mic clean.

The trouble is that after the balancing step, the Trueplay sounds do not play. The tuning fails before even beginning. I get to “Begin Tuning” and then it doesn’t begin.

Do you have ARP traps enabled on your router for the bonded speakers?

If so remove them (ARP traps) and Trueplay should work... 🤞

That’s indeed odd. Which iOS is running on the iPhone 17 pro? Which Sonos OS and controller version are you running? Is your Sonos system up to date, I.e have you checked for updates in the Sonos controller?

Perhaps it may require a call to Sonos Support to discuss it.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.
