Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

I’m using the line-in entrance to drive a stereo paired Sonos Five speakers, joined by a Sonos Move 2 speaker.All components have the latest software updates, including the Sonos app.Any pause in the audio source longer than a few seconds, causes the Mone 2 to disconnect from the currently playing set of speakers - namely the line-in driven pair of Sonos Five which do resume playing correctly.The only way to restore playing from the Move 2 as well is through the app, re-joining it to the paired Five speakers (that are connected via the line-in). In other words, if there is no constantly playing sound/signal - the Move 2 will disconnect and require re-joining every time playing resumes.I’ve tried: Turning off and back on the Move 2 speaker. Updating all system components (app itself and the latest Sonos system updates). Changing Sonos network channel. Killing the Sonos app once the Move 2 is correctly connected/joined and is playing.But nothing helped so far.  

Hi, I own a hotel and have several separate groups of speakers in different parts of the hotel all running on the same SSID .This works ok, but the staff have to usually select ‘switch system’ in the morning as the iPads dont seem to stay connected to the group of speakers that was selected previously when they arrive to work in the morning. When you select switch system you get a list of ‘Rooms’ with the different number of speakers beside the room number.  This mixes up daily so the order the list is in changes so making it difficult for the staff to identify what ‘Room’ relates to what area as some of them have the same number of speakers . Is there a way to name the ‘Rooms’?online articles says there is but when I try it, it seems to relate to the speakers not the ‘Rooms’Hopefully someone can help me. 

We just finished our basement and added a stone fireplace and hung our LG OLED evo 77” tv above. We are wanting to add some kind of additional sound system for watching movies. Are there any Sonos options out there that we don’t have to get a soundbar?

I am having trouble setting up my SOnos home cinema.In my sitting room, I have a One connected to my router. All my other speakers use Sonosnet and this mostly works great.I added an Arc Ultra to the sitting room and this is also working. However, I am now trying to connect up rear speakers.I moved another One into the sitting room and tried to setup both this and the One connected to my router with the Arc. I get a little way through the process and then I am told that the Arc needs a wired ethernet connection.I should say at this point that I have tried my Sonos setup in wifi standalone mode before and it did not go well - the network was incredibly unreliable and I do not want to go there again.I spoke to technical support about this and from what I can gather I have three options.1. Get a very long ethernet cable and drape it all around the walls of the sitting room so I can plug the Arc in. One of the reasons I chose the Arc was to avoid having cables everywhere.2. Buy a mesh netw

Lot of comments and disappointment with Sonos Sub Gen 2.  All seem to be ignored by Sonos.  I had 2 of these units.  Both have now failed and become useless within 5 years.  Very disappointing considering I still have alternate old school speakers that are 25 years old still going well.  Obviously a fundamental issue with these subs which Sonos had no solution for fix.  Only receive 30% reduction on new product.  Sonos should provide 5 year warrenty to standby their product.  

I’m planning to set up a Sonos Arc ultra with two Subs(gen 4 and 3) for my great room and am debating between adding in-wall speakers powered by a Sonos Amp for a more immersive experience, or using a pair of Era 300s as surrounds. A few questions: If I go with the in-wall + Amp option, are there any limitations in terms of audio formats (e.g., Dolby Atmos, TrueHD, DTS)? Will the in-wall speakers only handle surround channels, or can they contribute to Atmos height effects? Does the Arc + in-wall setup provide the same level of immersion as using Era 300s with spatial audio? My hesitation with the Era 300s is that I have small kids (3 and 4 years old) and nephews who might knock them over. Any thoughts on stability or mounting options for the Eras? 

My turntable connects to a Sonos Amp. I wish to listen using headphones. I believe I can connect my headphones to a headphone amp which in turn is connected to a Sonos Port. Will this work?Fernando

We’ve moved home and needed to set up a new network but Spotify isn’t showing up as a content service we can add when it was and should be compatible.  I’ve tried some of the other suggestions such as deleting the app and reinstalling, rebooting the iPhone but with no luck, Tried on our iPad but it would need updating to allow us to update the system functionality.Thanks

I am trying to repair a generation 2 sub. I have narrowed the problem down to the secondary power supplies. R37 has been burned out, there were posts that said R37 is a 18 ohm resistor however the marking on posted pictures show a smt resistor marked 18d. This is not a 180 Ohm resistor.  Has anyone successfully repaired a sub 2 with the problem being the secondary logic voltages ? I believe I have identified Q16 and D6?  marked as Y2 and 2F.  Any help would be appreciated, as there is very little info on the web. Thanks,  Carl

The last update a couple of weeks ago made my gen3 subs sound so much better there is another update today I googled about update it says to revert Sonos sub gen3 back to previous update I haven’t done update cos I love the new sound is anyone else in this situation 

Wondering if there will be a new Sonos amp coming? I have Sonos products but I have some passive speakers that I want to hook up into the Sonos eco system in a surround sound set up. The current amp has aging WiFi, and I see there are some rumors swirling of a new amp. If anyone can shed light on this it’ll be much appreciated 

Can someone please tell me how to get Apple Music to stop dropping out on my Sonos system? It’s gotten so bad. I can’t take it anymore. It’s only Apple Music and Spotify plays completely perfectly through the entire system no dropouts no nothing. Unfortunately, I’ve had Apple Music for over 20 years and all my stuff is on Apple Music and everything I stream is on Apple Music. So I’m not gonna pay for a Spotify account Just to listen to everything on Sonos. I know this didn’t happen when we actually had the old app that worked. And I’m sure Sonos’s won’t acknowledge any of these problems because they never do and then it’ll be 2 1/2 years from now and they’ll post something on the forum saying we finally fixed Apple Music problems so does anybody have any type of a setting fix or something for this?

Hey folks,So I recently got a Sonos Arc (super happy with the sound 🔥), but I’ve been noticing something weird… every now and then it just disconnects randomly from the app. Sometimes it takes a minute to reconnect, other times I need to restart WiFi.I searched a bit and found a couple of similar reports, but not sure if it’s a common issue or just my setup messing up. Using Arc with eARC on LG TV WiFi is mesh (TP-Link Deco) Everything else works fine on the network Anyone else facing this? Or maybe some hidden setting I should tweak?Would love to hear your experiences 🙏

For years my SoundCloud account worked just fine through my Sonos system.Today all in SoundCloud all was empty but other services like Mixcloud were fine. I removed my SoundCloud account to re-add it but that isn't possible anymore.It says network connection error  I already rebooted the whole network including all Sonos speakers :(

Hey,Over the past couple of months, I’ve been using my move speakers to play music on when I practice bass. A few days ago, I went to play the music, and one speaker sounded incredible muffled like it was underwater, and the other speaker was fine. I could kind of adjust this and fix it with eq but it was still noticeably bad. I just used the other speaker that night. Last night, I went to go use the other speaker, and it seemed to have the treble maxed out on it with little to no bass coming from it. Same thing, even with messing with the eq, it still didn’t sound right. I haven’t used them since and I really don’t know what to do. I really want to avoid getting a new speaker if that’s possible. Has this happened to you, and what did you do to fix it?

I've recently been away on my return my system is offline i went to readd my system and make sure the network is ok and the sonos app on iso will not allow me to login so i can not configure my system pressing sign in takes me to a blank page I've tried everything. The system was working great before i went away  its it a sonos software issue with the app? .I've reached out to sonos support but tbh I'm more advanced with tech then the person i was speaking too so this was a dead end (not to sound arrogant)has anyone had the same issue and found a fix I've reconfigured my network from scratch changed dns incase its not compatible with sonos appreset all sonos speakers reset the app rebooted my phone tried on windows 11 pro sonos controller uninstalled the sonos app and reinstalled plugged into Ethernetnothing has worked ive managed to get the surrounds and sub back showing on my network but still cant readd them to the full system because i cant login to configure the app does allow me

This nonsense still persists. It's constant and annoying. Once you reauthorize, it never loads the service. You have to close the app, then re-open, then it works (until the next day when it stops working again).My setup: iphone app, 99% ethernet speakers/amps, high-speed internet, all devices have assigned ip address. No excuse for this. 

Awhile back, the Arc Ultra surround was changed so as to increase only the rear speaker volume with the TV level slider. I propose an option in which you can choose whether to increase the arc ultra surround and rear surround in tandem if you wish. This would maintain the balance between front and raar in certain mixes. 

Firstly, I totally understand that when the speakers are in surround mode, that they need to operate differently with less room for latency and error when they’re acting as Slave speakers to a soundbar. I totally acknowledge and accept that. However, I think it would be a great idea in the future to be able to quickly switch between a sort of “Surround” mode and “Standalone” mode. That way, when I want to watch films with the surrounds, I can enable it with the click of the button, just waiting a few moments for it to be configured and my trueplay profile saved. Rather than the need to set it up from new again. Same with connecting it back as a standalone device with my line-in input. I bought a pair of era 100s with this idea in mind, not doing my research to find out that it wasn’t possible. I am likely still keeping my 100s, but I would love to be able to easily switch between a theatre mode and standalone mode for these speakers. 

Soundcloud service has failed today and I am unable to re-add it. When it provides me with a code to enter into Soundcloud to reconnect it but once I log in and go back to Sonos it says ‘Something went wrong, check your internet connection and try again’. Other times it does not generate the Soundcloud code and just goes straight to the same connection issue message. Have tried restarting apps, turning all sonos zones on and then off at the plug. 

As reported here:apple music recently played not showing on apple music app after using sonos Apple Music updates to Recently Played in the Sonos App remains an unreliable mess.  Has there been any progress on this matter? 

Sonos (S1 on Mac and iPad) is randomly losing connection to my music library… one day it will be working fine, the next it cannot find it.  The stock answer seems to be the firewall is preventing access/network or wi fi issues… but the firewall settings have not changed and everything else on the network and wifi is working perfectly.  File Sharing is on, Sonos is listed as a user with full access, have tried removing the library and re-adding it.  Works for a while but then randomly loses it.  I removed and re-added the library about a month ago and today it cannot find it.  There have been no updates to the system or software (have manually made sure that nothing is updated automatically that could cause this)… So I go through the same process, remove and re-add and it’s working fine.  Anyone else having this issue?  

This is our yard and the red line indicates a new pergola that we are going to install. All the gravel and some grass in the front will mostly be converted to concrete pavers under the pergola. I am planning to buy the sonance mag6.1 with Sonos amp (Best Buy exclusive) and was wondering how to place the 6 satellite speakers and the son woofer to get optimum results. We do want to focus on the pergola as the main entertainment area but would like to distribute atleast a couple Of the satellite speakers on either side of the yard. Woudl also need some recommendation on how to connect the left and right channels too.. Also this is the first time we are doing something like this so Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
