Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Is there a way to set the volume to an auto setting? By that I mean the sound difference between shows and commercials.  The commercials are typically much louder than the shows we are watching,  which results in constantly changing the volume up and down.  Any help is appreciated.  Thank you

Changed internet to Virgin and wow what a nightmare again, this time much worse tbh, having to reset all speakers, can’t connect bean to Sonos 1 surround or the sub, I was okay with using the s1 app before but seems my beam connected to the new Sonos app but S1 not so can’t link surround help prior to all in the bin 

I have the following setup.Apple TV Connected to TV using a HDMI Port. | Sonos ARC Ultra connected to TV using the HDMI eARC port.Everything works fine via CEC, I am able to control the volume and TV Power ON/Off using the Apple TV remote. Most of the time during the day usage, when I switch on/off the TV it goes to the standby mode and wakes up quickly.However, in the morning after 8-10 hrs of sleep time, when I power on the Apple TV , the TV restarts [shut down and starts] . I have tried switching the HDMI cable & performed HDMI refresh also, didn't resolve the issue. This doesn't happen when I connect the Sonos ARC Ultra to the Apple TV using the AirPlay, so I assume this is to do with the HDMI connection. Looking for a solution here. 

Hi - I want to reset the Sonos system to get the maximum benefit on sound

I am trying to find the setting for managing guest access in the iOS app. https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/adjust-connection-security-settings When I follow the instructions of the article, I am not seeing the options that are described in the article. I am going to:Account / Legal and Privacy Section / Privacy & Security The only options displayed are “Additional Usage Data” and “Personalization Service” and nothing about managing guest access. I reached out to support and they only had me follow the same steps, ensured my app was up to date, and then suggested a full reboot of my router (???) and deleting and reinstalling the app. Surely the app was just updated and the setting was moved / removed and their support article simply wasn’t updated. Has anybody had any luck in finding this setting? Thank you!

Bumping this thread.Setting the volume limits in the app is NOT actually setting the limits - it just diminishes that speaker’s volume completely.I’d like to be able to set a room’s limit, so not only can I never turn it up beyond the set level individually, when I have multiple rooms selected, the “all volume” button caps at that limit for that room.Example - ‘Bedroom’ Is Set to 7Individual SpeakerI can use the slider (or the volume button on my phone) or the physical volume button to adjust that single speaker.I can cycle up through 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. If I try to take it higher, it won’t go.Group SpeakersI have Living Room and Bedroom grouped.I can cycle up. Both are at 5. Both are at 6. Both are at 7. I press the Up button, Living Room goes to 8, Bedroom stays at 7. I press the Up button again, Living Room goes to 9, Bedroom stays at 7. Etc.  

Understand I could do own reserach but hoping those who have done these can provide answers. I currently have a pair of Sonos Five speakers and a Sub Gen 2 for music listening nicely setup - very happy although a second Sub will be even more awesome. I also have the following older gear in storage - 3x Sonos Play 5 Gen 1 (S1 app only) speakers and a Sonos Connect:Amp Gen 2 (S1/S2 app compatible) all in excellent condition.I have a vague impression from reading somewhere that the Connect:Amp can be connected wirelessly to Sonos devices. So I wonder if below are possible:Using S1 app > Connact:Amp > wireless 2x Play 5 Gen 1 speakers + a suitable non-Sonos sub via wired sub-out Using S2 app > Connect:Amp > wireless 2x Five speakers + wireless Sub Gen 2Reason for deploying the the Connect:Amp is I am thinking of using the line-in feature. Any help will be appreciated. 

Hi, just bought three Era 100s, and set up two of them as a stereo pair with a Beam under the TV.I’m attempting to plug in a Pro-Ject cd player using the Sonos adapter with a QED 3.5mm Jack to Phono cable. Problem is the line-in isn’t showing up in the app as suggested everywhere.I tried the usual restarts, router, app, phone, sign-out/in, made sure the cables are pushed home, etc.Weird thing is, the menu shows up, albeit greyed out, under the bedroom Era 100 which its not connected to.Any thoughts?!JB

I have a Scott LK 72 Amplifier that I want to integrate into my SONOS System using a Port. I am using the Tape Out on the Amp as my Input to the Port and the Extra on the Amp as my Output from the Port. I am concerned about the Load Resistance and Capacitance on the Port and the compatibility with the jacks on the amp. The Scott Tape Output jacks are rated at 200 k ohms and Capacitance at 200 pF. I do believe that the Port Input jacks are rated at 10 k ohms and 100-200 pF. Would there be an issue with this setup seeing as how the impedance on the Port is not adjustable.

I’ve read about an issue with the alarms on Sonos systems from earlier this year, with most people saying they have now been fixed.Unfortunately since the last update for the app a week ago the alarm on my system doesn’t go off. I switch it on in the app, it switches it off straight away. I can’t create a new alarm. I’ve tried resetting the Sonos, force closing the app - nothing works. Any suggestions?!

One of my Sonos speakers was making a crazy “ding dong” sound. I tried everything to make it stop. Solution unplugged speaker let the battery discharge. The “ding dong” continued until the battery was completely discharged. I then plugged the speaker back in and allowed it to charge again and the “ding dong” is gone and my Sonos system is working fine now.  Technology just needs a reset every now and then. 

When The new design of apps launched in May 2024 I found that the only controller left that would allow you to control your sonos devices without an Internet connection was the Windows Desktop App. This appears to no longer be the case and the Windows app now fails without an internet connection. Can I askin which version was this change made? and can we get a copy of the old version from somewhere?  

Does anybody have a list of what specific 2.4 GHz network settings are required to have my Sonos sub hook up to my Sonos arc? The sub is GEN three. Arc is an older model. The sub used to work just fine. I did not do any auto update updates nor did I Change any wireless settings. Somehow it just suddenly stopped working. When I connect the sub to the 2.4 GHz network it shows as an item in my list then it lets me add it to my arc. It immediately stops working and then I get an error message Soonest wants me to wire the connection, which would be a complete pain in my balls. Anybody have any ideas I can try. Thank you in advance for your time. 

Not sure if it’s a bug or a feature request, but when I open my Sonos iOS app the “now playing” song metadata is always behind (showing the prior song).  A small gripe since it takes a second or two to refresh and get caught up.  Why can’t the app just update this metadata in the background all the time if music is playing?   FWIW I don’t have this lag with Apple Music or Spotify apps.  

Amazon Music keeps cutting out on Sonos systemI’ve been having ongoing issues with Amazon Music streaming on my Sonos system. The problem only happens with Amazon Music — all my other services (Spotify, Pandora, etc.) stream perfectly without interruption.When I play Amazon Music through the Sonos app, the music will randomly cut out, stop in the middle of a song, or skip ahead to another track on its own. It happens across my speakers at the same time, which makes listening really frustrating.For context, I have two Sonos Amps (one powering my inside speakers and one for my outdoor deck speakers), a Sonos Move 2, a Sonos Move, an Arc Ultra system, and a regular Arc system. Hello Everyone,I just ordered a pair of Sonos Era 300’s to run as rear speakers for my surround sound.Please excuse the condition of the house, we just had a flood and I’ve been tearing everything out.Right now we have a Sonos arc, Sub Gen 3 for the front and I have recently acquired a Sub Gen 2 for behind the couch. Up to this point I have been using two Sonos Play 1’s as rears which will move to a different room.The couch will be placed in the blue rectangle, and is 43” tall. We are building a half wall between the rooms outlined in red which will be 40” tall.The rear sub will be placed behind the couch as outlined in green.As for the era 300’s the placement is a little bit more tough, as you can see on the left side is a light switch and the mantle to our fireplace, so realistically I’d have to place it above this, and I can match it in the opposing corner however it would be about 6” further back.At this point because of the placement it will obviously be above our heads as well as

I’ve been charging my Sonos move with a USB and the main charger it came with for 5 hours each and it does not switch on regardless of what I do. Whilst it is charging, the battery symbol at the front constantly flashes. I’ve tried to hold the power button but the light at the top just flashes white and switches off again. Really wondering what’s happened and would love some help, feel like I’ve tried everything.. 

Never mind, fixed it.  My Beam Gen 2 is cutting out on Atmos content on Apple+ and Disney+. TV audio is set to pass through. HDMI cable is good. 5.1 content plays with no issues.

I’ve recently purchased the Sonos Arc Ultra. I bought the latest David Gilmour and Peter Gabriel albums for their Atmos mixes. However, the vocals on both albums sound like they were recorded in echoey caves. Horrible. They sound fine on normal stereo mixes. To say I’m disappointed is a major understatement. Is there any particular setting on the soundbar that could improve matters. 

HiI have a Samsung S90D TV and Sonos Beam 5.1 Setup and I get 5.1 from my Apple TV and Firestick fine.I also get 5.1 from my Blu Ray player for any non DTS audio discs but for any Blu Rays with DTS, I just get Stereo PCM as Samsung does not support DTS.My question is. Will a HDFury Arcana solve this for me?Ideally I want to avoid a HDMI switcher but I assume if I will need to get one for the ATV/Firestick too if I am going to use HDFury for the Blu Ray PlayerThanks

Hello,I was using Spotify with my Sonos speaker for some time and recently I gave Apple Music a try. Normally, when using Spotify service, when I request a song from Sonos Voice Control, it would first tell me what song is being played and then the reproduction would start. When I switched to Apple Music it doesn’t do that anymore. It just plays a chime indicating that the request has been received and then the song playback start.My question is - is this a bug or feature? :D Is enunciating what is being played not available for Apple Music?Thanks in advance!

Hi, We have 5 Sonos speakers in total, using Wifi setup to connect to the speakers. 4 of them are grouped whereas one is individual speaker. (4 Sonos 5; 1 Sonos Era 100)We have set alarms from 730AM to 730PM and the playlist are from SoundTrackYourBrand (12 hours in the settings).However, the alarm is only trigger/playing on the individual speaker as shown below: Please help!

QUESTION 1: Why doesn’t MOVE 2 have TV Dialog Adjustment like other speakers?  I sent my son off to college with a MOVE 2.  He thinks Sonos clunky. I’m trying to show him it’s user friendly.  His TV has Bluetooth connectivity so he connected the MOVE 2 to it.  But, TV sound is delayed.  He says- dad, I told you. Sonos isn’t user friendly.  No, he doesn’t want a big soundbar or subwoofer for his room. He wants his MOVE 2 to work. QUESTION 2: why doesn’t MOVE 2 have a battery management and bypass feature to avoid wrecking the battery if it’s plugged in 99% of the time?  

Can't set surround distance after I do quick trueplay. My right surround is more than 10 feet away and my left surround is 5 feet away. Both are set to more than 10 feet after I do quick trueplay. I can't even adjust the surround level because of the different distance between the two. Plz give users of quick trueplay the option to adjust the surround distance.
