Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

I was considering purchasing a second hand Playbar as a soundbar for my TV. I have Virgin 360. The Playbar I'm looking at doesn't come with a remote.  Is it possible to buy a replacement or can I program the Virgin remote to control the volume? 

I have a stereo pair of Ones with a Sub Gen 3, and another stereo pair of Ones on the other side of the same room (Room is approx 8m square). These are grouped together to play as a single room, which on the whole is good enough. Voice control via Sonos is disabled (all microphones are set to off) as it was terrible, but we have an Amazon Echo Dot which is set to play music on the Sonos group as its default speakers. Problem is that when manually starting a new track for this group from the Sonos app (or any other music app that supports casting, E.g Amazon Music, Plex) the track starts ok then about 1-2 seconds after starting the volume dips by about 50% for 5-10s before returning to selected level. This also happens when a new track starts via Alexa voice command from the Echo Dot. Also happens in other rooms where we also have pairs of Ones, given that these are the common element I'm inclined to think they're to blame. I used to listen to music all the time on my Sonos using Spotify, but suddenly it doesn’t work anymore?  The speaker works as I can use Apple Music but when I try and connect Spotify it just says ‘connecting…’ for like 5-10 seconds and then just… stops trying and keeps playing on my phone?  Has anyone met this issue before?

The app is not working with my Sonos Era 300, No product found

Hello everyone,in my Sonos app on my Windows computer under “select a music source” I have both “music library” and also “sonos playlists”. available. I have two questions, which I hope can be addressed.The sonos playlist folder shows all of my music whereas the music library shows most but not all of my music.  Why might that be ? The Sonos app on my Ipad just shows the music library but not the sonos playlists folder. Why might that be ? Any help would be much appreciatedModerator edit: changed “the” to “not” at request

So I own 2 KEF Q550's and a Sonos AMP + Sub Gen 4. The sub seems to have a slight (obvious?) delay due to being connected via wifi. Is there anything I can do to get rid of this?I know having only Sonos speakers would probably fix it but i'm not in a financial position to upgrade everything to sonos (and weirdly enough, people tell me the KEF's give a better sound were I to replace them for a Arc Ultra?) Overall I'm very happy with the AMP and Sub.Thanks!

I'm looking to have music in my bathroom and exploring my options. The challenge is that the electrical socket in the bathroom loses power whenever I turn off the bathroom light. 🙄I want the music to play continuously, so it's ready the moment I step into the bathroom.I'm considering the Roam 2 speaker since it can run on battery. My idea is to keep it plugged in all the time. This way, when the lights (and power) are on, the speaker will charge, and when the lights are off, it can continue playing music using its battery.Does this setup make sense? Will the Roam 2 keep playing music seamlessly as the power from the socket turns off, provided it has a charged battery?I would be grateful for any help from someone who knows his/her way around Roam 2.Best,V

I’m finding that I can view alarms in the new app but any edits to them don’t save, they can’t be deleted and new ones created also don’t save. Basically editing in the app doesn’t work at all. The only way I can edit alarms is via the Mac desktop app, any changes made here immediately show up in the mobile app its just editing in the app that doesn’t work. Is this a known bug?

After multiple threads (since closed) the app still defaults to the wrong room when it's started.  Yes, I have a den and yes I occasionally play music in it.  But 99 times out of a hundred I listen in the living room.   App starts  up showing den even if music is on in living room.  I've renamed the rooms, deleted and reinstalled the app.  No avail.  I get why the CEO got ousted - he should be.  Hopefully Conrad can return the Sonos app to a user friendly, intuitive and working piece of software.Rant aside - if somebody has a fix I will humbly use it and apologize.  

I own 2 Sonos Fives placed beneath my TV on either side of my record player and 3 Sonos One SL's placed in other nearby areas. I was previously running a 3.5mm audio cord from my TV to my Sonos Five and switching between TV and record player in the app. I recently upgraded my TV to a 4k tv that supports Dolby Atmos and does not have a 3.5mm output (only HDMI)I’m wondering if there is a way I can keep my current speaker system to both listen to music and watch movies or do I need to purchase a sound bar? I have looked at the Amp but that seems to be for someone with existing speakers that are not Sonos brand. Any help is appreciated - thanks!

I am setting up my new Sonos Five and use Deezer as my streaming service. Using the Sonos app I click add, choose, Deezer, I have an account but doesn't ask for my Deezer login details?Instead it says 'please authorise Sonos to use your Deezer account'. The authorise button appears and when you press it it simply opens my Deezer app and there is nowhere to 'authorise'  Please help?! Thanks 

One of the main uses of Sonos for me is being woken up by Radio. It plays in my whole flat, and I can go from my bedroom into the kitchen, feed the cats, wander into the shower all the time being lulled by Radio 4 (UK talk radio news etc). But recently, I am now conditioned to the Sonos Donkey (Chime?!) and am woken by Eeyore eeyore - eeoyre; eeyore - eeeevery morning.I have re-booted my router.Yes, grouped rooms is checked - but none of them workI have rebooted my iPhone.I have rebooted the speakers.I have tried Spotify, Sound Cloud, different radio stations - I still get the donkeyI am not interested in anyone talking about ‘connection issues’ I have a 50 sq m flat, and the minute I grab my phone and turn off the donkey and ask it to play Radio 4 it starts no problem. My next step is to erase the whole system and start again. I find that ridiculous having invested so much in this system. Does anyone have any ideas?

a few weeks ago my sonos library started giving me multiples copies of some albums. I think even though all my albums are in different folders and have consistent “album artist” is it now giving me an entire different albume for each song artist! This makes compilation albums completely unusable. It’s not the controller, as this is consistent with ios, win11 and Sonopad controllers. Check out this image!  

I am trying to play Podcasts from from Spotify but you can't search on them and I tried creating a play list of podcasts and you can see the play list in Sonos, but not play it.

Hello I have a Samsung Q90T and a Sonos sound system (Arc, 2x Era100 and Sub Gen 3).  Sometimes the Sonos sound system won’t play any sound coming from the TV. Even though the Sonos app says the TV is connected, the TV says it is connected, and the led on the Arc blinks when I’m trying to increase volume on the Samsung remote.  Previously when I’ve had this problem, I could fix it by turning everything off, and unplugging the arc, my Apple TV and Xbox series x, then turning tv and arc back on, and setting up the tv in the Sonos app again, and plugging in the arc when the app says so. Then it would work again, and I could plug in my Apple TV and Xbox series x afterwards.  When it happened today, my previous fix did nothing. I tried resetting both my tv and arc to factory settings, but still didn’t work.  The problem occurs when the tv is trying to play any content - when it is only the menu, I can hear the menu sounds through my arc. Skipping while playing from Music Library has persisted for years & often angered me. For me the fix was finally simple: ethernet cable from desktop (hosting library) to Sonos device.HDD, SSD or USB attached to router with cable to Sonos would work as well.Hosting your library on a wirelessly connected device (e.g. laptop) is likely to be unstable.

I saw post on here from a year ago but that topics closed now where someone described a metallic sound whilst viewing 5.1 dolby content that cleared when forcing to pcm instead but the pcm upset the balance. I just wanted to say that I too have noticed some issues when the Ray connected via optical to my Sony TV with 5.1 content that I suspect might be the same issue.  I would describe the problem is, that for some reason the surround channels are being mixed to mono through the Ray and are very slightly out of phase with each other, thus creating this awkward flanger type sound when mixed together. I’m reasonably confident (but not 100%) its just the non-stereo surround channels causing this, so its most noticeable on background/fx type sounds.The normal stereo component seems ok (not that you can really sense stereo on the Ray, god knows why they thought it was a good idea to place the tweeters so close together!!) Kinda have a love/hate relationship with this thing. I’m running an 18 or 19 yr-old setup, still using the old white ZP80 controllers to connect to my amplifier and speakers etc. I’m using version 11.15 of the app, SonosOS S1 - I managed to avoid taking the troublesome upgrade that has caused all these issues.  (Although I think if I am using SMB2 to connect to my NAS, which I am, some library issues will be minimized).But now I want to add some new music and the "Update Music Index Now" is grayed out, with a message saying that I need to upgrade the system before updating will work.I’m going to wait overnight to see if my old 2:00 a.m. scheduled update is still working, but for now has anyone else seen this?

Hello! i have two the sonos era 100 and i can succesfully connect to one on the app and my phone but for what is the second era 100 i can connect to my phone but not the app.. also when it is connected to my phone no sound from the phone is coming out but you can hear the original noises from the speaker does anyone have any ideas?

I have many speakers through the house, about 7. I really enjoy the sound and have for years and i tell others to get the system.  But Why do speakers drop out of wifi and become hard to load back un. Can you make auto reconnect easier?     Using fios mesh, setup a specific guest wifi for sonos, yet most speakers drop off, and others continue to work. I reboot when I can.
