For the last month my Spotifiy alarm hasn't been working, and I've been waking up to that dreadful Sonos Chime. I have deleted and re-created the alarm numerous times, re-set my internet, re-set my Sonos, re-connected Spotify, and it still starts with the Sonos Chime. I know it is not an Internet connection issue, because once it goes off I immediately turn on the Spotify playlist while I'm half-awake. Any ideas on how to fix? I'm using the S1 app for a gen 1 Play:5
Hello everyone, my colleague was struggling to reconnect her speaker to the desktop apps (we tried S1 and S2), and I only succeeded in reconnecting when I plugged it into the computer (an HP w/ Windows 10 OS) via ethernet cable. However, now the app won’t play any of the music we select for it. Normally she uses Pandora. The chat bot was unable to identify the issue. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? I suspect the age of the speaker has something to do with the problem. Thanks!
Hello, My stereo speakers in my office rarely work. My right one often is recognized and plays, but many times the left speaker does not play with it. One of the speakers fades out probably 60% of the time. Assistance would be appreciated.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a portable CD player that I can connect to my Sonos Five? I have a large CD collection that I'd like to inergrate into my Sonos environment and my Five appears the best way to do so. I'm looking for something under $100. Thanks in advance.
For the past week, for some portion of the day, my Spotify stops working and I get “unable to play, connection to Spotify lost.” Some random time later in the day (or the next morning), it works again until it doesn’t. We’ve also experienced Spotify skipping songs randomly. Never happened previously.Issue is when using the sonos app. I can get Spotify to play to a single speaker using the Spotify app. Other services are working fine, so it makes me think it’s not a connectivity issue. Litany of products. Diagnostic number 2039938.
Deari have the old generation 5 and 1 and i may not update the app otherwise it won’t fonction anymore. But now i cannot access my apple music account anymore because i NEED to update my sonos app to be able to that. So at this point, i can’t listen to my music on my system! Quid??? thanks nico
My wife and I have been trying to connect our Roam everyday since May 10th. Here are some issues we’ve experience - just wondering if anyone has experienced the same. Roam will not connect to wifi phone will not connect to the roams wifi roam will turn itself off during set up Roam will not turn back on for hours set up will complete but the roam does not appear, when doing a restart it suddenly is not connecting to anything. Roam is not making a chime during set up Roam does not make sounds while turning off or on Roam does not accept the phone tapping on the back of it. It automatically cancels once it completes. every set up sequence is different. This has been one of the most frustrating experiences dealing with this. I’m looking for a little insight before I spend hours on customer service. We don’t have a receipt for our roam either. It was a gift and the individual who gifted it does not have the receipt or the packing slip.
Tried factory reset Tried signing out of accounts both Alexa /Sonos and removing from speakersalexa will say radio 2 or radio x or Spotify but then will not play anything.would appreciate some further advice
While looking around at the new features in the latest Alexa app update on my phone. I noticed that all of my Echo devices including my Fire cube’ now has a prefered speaker option under the ‘connected devices’ section in my Android phones Alexa settings. By default this is set to ‘built-in speaker’ but you now have the option to select ‘change’. Once the ‘change’ option is selected you can choose to uncheck the ‘built-in speaker’ option. Then select ‘WIFI Speakers/Use my preferred speaker option’. Now you will be able to select any Alexa enabled Sonos Speaker not only to play music but to also respond for the Fire Cube/Echo device’s voice commands instead of the ‘built-in speaker’.If you can see the Sonos Speakers but can’t select them as they are greyed out. Then you will need to simply make sure both the Echo device/Fire cube & Sonos speaker you intend to use are in the same group e.g. ‘Living Room’ group. If the group does not yet exsit, then you will need to create a group &a
Hello, I own a sonos 1 and a sonos Play 1 that are synchronised. From time to time the Sonos play 1 stop playing, you can see the equalizer icon moving on the app icon but there is no sound coming out from the device. When this happen I try to stop the music or mute one of the speakers, even reset completly the app but it does not work. The sound just randomly come back on the sonos play 1 for no apparent reasons.what should I do ?thks for your help
Just bought a roam yesterday. I’m having issues with the Wi-Fi not connecting and the device not being recognized by my phone app. I literally have to reset my router anytime I wanna use it… Also, as an aside, the power button sucks and it sucks that it’s combined with the Bluetooth pairing. Think I might return the device.
Hello.I found an annoying little thing when the volume limit is set to any other value than 100%.For example when the volume limit is set to 99% the volume levels 0 and 1 are muted and when the volume limit is set to 30% the volume levels 0,1,2,3 are muted. I’m guessing it is problem with wrong rounding method (rounding down instead of up).I think that expected behaviour is to set 0 to mute and 1 to minimal volume whatever the volume limit is set.I found it when my alarm volume was set to 3 and later I changed the volume limit to 30%. There was no morning alarm next day. ;-( RegardsTomasz
I updated my Mac to Big Sur and Sonos S1 Controller no longer recognises the path to my iTunes library, gives message “//iMac-Main-4596/Music in no longer available.” I checked the firewall settings (Sonos is permitted), unchecked “Share Files” in privacy settings, nothing produces the result. The name of Mac is correct, as stated in File Sharing settings, the only difference is that it is iMac Main 4596.local, however when I tried this in my mobile app (on iPhone) it relied that the computer does not allow access. I could not find library setting in the S1 Controller. As a result no changes made to my iTunes library are synchronised to my Sonos Library. Any suggestions?
Whenever I do (almost) anything to a sonos playlist, I get an. I cannot save the queue to a new playlist or as a replacement of an existing playlist. Sonos always gives me an error (usually “unable to save queue”). Sometimes, in spite of the error, the new or modified playlist will show up only to be missing a hour or two later. This is very frustrating as it is how I save playlists from my own physical library.
I have just had my wifi upgraded and now I cannot connect to my Sonos Play 1 speaker. The app doesn’t even recognise I have one. My speaker is plugged in next to my router with the ethernet cable attached to the router from the speaker. What is going on?
Hi,I’m trying to add a new Sonos One to an exiting system, using the S2 app. After selecting to add a new device and selecting the new Sonos One I get a message saying “Let’s make sure you SONOS App is up to date”. After that I get a message saying “There was a problem verifying your Sonos app. Error code 800”. There are suggestions like “reboot your router” etc, all of which are fine. The phone is connected to the internet, and the app is up to date. Since this message is from the Sonos app itself, I’m not sure why it’s having problems verifying itself.Does anyone know what the 800 error code means (no reference to this on the Sonos site), or what the problem might be?
So I have 2 Beams, a 1 and a 3 at home. The system has been working perfectly for the last few months (apart from the sound cutting out when playing radio some times....) And now both of my beams have dropped off the network and cannot connect to them on the app any more.I have tried connecting them again, they are found but just fail to connect to my WiFi. There's nothing wrong with the WiFi, the 1 & 3 connect just fine. The access point has been rebooted. I have a virgin suberhub 3 and ubiqiti AP for the WiFi.I have factory reset one of the beams and still no joy.One of them has been plugged in via ethernet and was available on the network but needs to be unplugged to add it to the WiFi…I have removed the networks from the Sonos android app and set it up again for the 1 and 3.This seemed to start when I connected to someone else's Sonos network then came home and the beams had dropped off the network.I have also noticed since then that the sound keeps cutting out on the beams for
One of the recent updates introduced an annoying bug so that makes the last song a playlist played from the music library ignore the replaygain tags and thereby bypasses loudness normalization, meaning the last song of an album is way louder than the rest of the album. The issue can be worked around by adding more songs to the playlist, but this is really awkward for album-centric listeners like me.
Since this has come up again with recent Apple news of release of HD music, I thought a separate thread on this subject might be useful in general.I will start with a link to a recent thread where this is seen to be a problem on Sonos:https://en.community.sonos.com/troubleshooting-228999/sonos-speakers-cut-in-and-out-when-playing-hd-music-6858735I don’t have or plan to have HD music in my home, I don't believe it add to heard sound quality. But I have seen problems in the past with grouped wireless play while playing uncompressed files from Sonos line in jacks. And the link above is a case of someone having problems playing Sonos HD radio. In grouped mode as well as on a single speaker, where the Sonos response has been: ethernet wire the units to the core network.By all accounts, Bluesound has the same problem. And so do many others I thought till yesterday...when I read here that Roon does this with no trouble at all. Now, I don't know Roon, except vaguely, to know that it is server
For about a week the Sonos connection to both Amazon Music and Audible as well as Sonos Radio has been very patchy. When streaming an album or audiobook, either: - it refuses to start playing the album altogether and doesn't queue any tracks, or - it plays or fails to play the first track, moves on to the next then will either play or fail to play track 2 and move on to the next, etc... or - it does nothing, circle spins and nothing gets played, "No music selected" As examples, I get these errors:> Unable to play 'name of song' - unable to connect to Amazon Music> Unable to play 'Sonos Radio' - unable to connect to Sonos Radio> unable to add music to the queue> An error occurred while adding tracks (error 701)> ... error 1002> Unable to browse music - there was an problem connecting to Amazon Music> Unable to browse music - there was an problem connecting to Sonos Radio It is annoying when playlists/albums don't play in the correct sequence, but is extremely frustr
Recently one of my two Sonos Beam started to not respond to me saying Hey Google. I just started looking into it and when I opened the Sonos app all my speakers are not connected now. Two beams and two Play 1s. At the top of the app it's says Unable to connect to Sonos: Let's fix it But when I click Let's fix it, it says it can't find my 4 devices, and then it searches for the for a few minutes but it doesn't find them. I've power cycled all the Sonos devices and my router. Other device's can connect to my wifi just fine and I haven't changed anything. Wtf is going on?
Dear allI ask you to urgently REPAIR the SONOS app to the following topic:I move daily between three places. Everywhere SONOS is in place. The sites are connected with VPN.The SONOS app is always showing the last connected system. So I have three times a day “Ignore actual system”, closing the app and connecting to existing system.Very annoying.I had the same installation before when using the old app (S1). And it worked. Why not showing the system in the actual network instead of one far away? Please!
Hello!I have a home theater setup with 2 One SL’s and 1 Sonos Arc. The system is then setup to a SOny Bravia X900F, with 1 ARC Port. My question has nothing to do with ATMOS… When I play a 4K UHD Disc that supports Dolby Digital Plus, the Sonos app says its playing in Dolby Digital 5.1 instead of Dolby Digital Plus 5.1.My UHD Player Supports DD+, the Disc contains a DD+ Track, the TV supports DD+ passthrough over ARC (only). This same issue is with Netflix and Amazon Prime, when I play content where they provide a DD+ Track - Sonos says I’m only playing in DD 5.1 My TV, UHD Player, and Sonos system is all up-to-date. I’m using the HDMI cabled provided by the Sonos Arc for Audio and I’m using an over priced 18gbs HDMI cable for video from my UHD player. So why do I never see DD+?EDIT: Please keep in mind, both the TV and UHD player are configured to output DD+
