HelloI am owner of a new system of Sonos at my home.I bought set of :1 Five and 2 One SL I am not filling like its the best fit together with the TV and thinking what to do:I am debating what is the better product to improve my home theater experience debating about Sub Gen 3 \ Sub mini \ Beam.I connected the Five to the TV with AUX cable but I feel like its missing some quality on the way.I am sure that buying Sub will improve the experience and also Ray\ Beam that will connect with a better option like HDMI cable to the system. The thing is if there is anyway to connect wirelessly the TV with the FIVE and than i guess I will go for the SUB option.I have also APPLE TV but the airplay not working always the best (some applications not supporting and sometimes having delay) ThanksJordi
I can play music through my Sonos, but I can’t seem to get my TV to run through the speakers. It is an older system. Any ideas?
Hello, all.I have four rooms of Play:1s with four Amazon Echo Dots. When I ask Alexa to play music, it plays it over the Sonos speakers in the correct room. But when it responds to commands, Alexa’s voice comes over the Echo Dot.This was previously working as desired (all sound coming through Sonos) in three of four rooms. To get it right, I went through a disable skill/ de-register/ re-enable process. Now…three of the Alexa’s responses are played on the Echo Dot and not the Sonos speakers. One Echo Dot is not playing anything on the Sonos. The Sonos app still correctly controls that Sonos.Any ideas on how I get both Alexa responses and music to play over Sonos? There has to be a way as I did have it working in some cases. Thanks!!
I use Niagara launcher but the media widget controls do not work. Does Sonos support proper media controls? Every other media widget works fine. This is from the Niagara support docs... ask them if they can support transport controls & implement proper media sessions (e.g., you can share this Medium article).
I just got a Beam 2 and it’s connected via HDMI to a Samsung TU8000 series TV. Right off the bat it worked with my Samsung Smart Remote without me doing anything.I’d like to use one of my old universal URC MX-350 remotes if possible instead of the Samsung remote. How can I get the MX-350 to work with the Beam 2… it can learn individual commands or takes a 3 digit code? It can be set to IR, RF, or IR/ RF. I don’t want to mess up the Samsung remote automatically controlling the Beam 2 in the process though. So can the Beam 2 be controlled by my URC MX-350?Could it also be controlled by a Directv remote?
I have my music stored on a NAS and share names appear as the full server path for that share. Any way to change the display name to something more simple? You can’t even distinguish between shares because the path name is too long
When I first purchased the Sonos ARC the soundbar had enough bass to make me content. Now after a few updates the bass has never been the same. Is there a known issue? I have the Arc along with two sl1
Looking for help please Community.Just changed broadband providers and have an issue whereby my speaker will cause the WiFi speed to virtually drop off. This usually happens at around 20 minutes of usage.Broadband company initially (and naively) couldn't find an issueThey have since changed what I presume is my IP address and are adamant that this will fix. They did this after I ran a ping and tracert test on the network.Nothing has changed however and I have gone back to them again.will they done this as there was a possible conflict with the Sonos set up IP?I have moved the speaker to 5ghz but this has no effectShell is my new provider and they seem quote useless!!Had no issues of the sort in the past with other providers Wishing I had never gone with Shell now but unfortunately tied in! I have seen something similar being asked in on here but no real resolution was ever posted.Any ounce of help would be much appreciated Kind regards and Merry Christmas Darren
I see that a lot of people here and on other forums have problems with activating Google Assistant on Sonos. When I first setup my system there was no problem adding it to Sonos Roam. But after some problems where I had to reset my system Google Assistant couldn’t find Sonos Roam again when I tried to add it.This is how I managed to add it back again.Open Google Home on your phone (I run iOS, might be different on an Android). Click Settings. Scroll down to the bottom and click Works with Google. Click Sonos, and unlink. Go to the Sonos app and add Google Assistant as a voice assistant.Hopefully everything works for you now.
I bought my second Roam recently, to add the option of stereo playback but I must say I’m disappointed with how it works. These are portable rechargeable speakers and will spend a fair amount of time powered off - so with a mic built in (and trueplay++) there’s an obvious opportunity to stereo-up when the laws of physics suggest it makes sense, automatically. This could be done intelligently:If one Roam speaker is playing and another on the same system is turned on and can hear the track playing via the mic (you know it’s a Roam speaker and what it should outputting so can be sure it is the “other” Roam) it should switch to stereo pair automatically. You also know what volume it should be playing, so can judge if the distance is too far for decent stereo imaging (and decide NOT to stereo up in that case). Grouping with another single Roam (eg by long press play/pause) could switch into stereo by default, with an advanced setting not to if the user so chooses when the speakers can hear
Brand new Philips Oled Tv . Hdmi arc and earc ports . 4k . UHD . Smart . Etc etc . Bought the Arc sound bar . great bit of kit for music and audio . Plays fantastic with Netflicks , prime , apps , when played from the Philips Tv . Digital and Dolby Atmos plays superbly and great movie experience. However when played through Sky Q box 2Tb , there is audio sync issues . Tried all options on Sky … no joy . so have had Sonos support technicians the last 2 nights . Tried everything . Unplugs , resets , ultra fast hdmi cables , adjusting sync delay in settings on Sonos app . Discovered that it can’t be resolved . Sky blame Sonos . Sonos lay the problem at Skys door. . Truth of the matter is that both the Sky Q box and the Sonos Arc work perfectly well …. Just not when they are connected together . I’m going to return my Arc as can’t deal with the sync delay and I use Sky for all my Tv channels . Will hang on a week or 2 in case any of you kind people on here can help as Sonos cannot . Ch
I apparently didn't do enough research on these speakers. One Arc SL, two One SLs and a sub. Constantly having issues just simply working. Have had them all for two years and about every three months, I have to re-add them to the system or delete and re-install the app or reset the speakers. No other electronics in my house have these issues with my network. The sound quality is amazing but the constant headaches make this a bad product. My rating is a solid 3/10 and the only positives are the sound quality. The setup, the app and the reliability leave a LOT to be desired. I definitely won't look for Sonos products in the future.
Hey gang,I’ve been trying to troubleshoot this problem and just can’t figure it out. I have a PC with a 3090 connected to an LG CX (passthrough, bitstream, eArc, etc.) and the TV connects to the Arc. Upon booting the machine (fresh) I have Dolby Atmos automatically enabled and usable. I can watch content in Atmos, play games, all good. The moment the system senses a signal that isn’t Atmos it switches to Linear PCM stereo (expected behavior). The problem is once this happens all traces of Atmos disappear from my PC. It will not see the system as Atmos capable. All options of atmos are removed from the system, dolby access app can’t recognize the Arc as Atmos capable, nothing at all. That is until I restart the PC. Once I do that everything is back to normal (atmos on by default, all dolby formats supported, so on.)I’ve noticed it’s some form of communication problem as even with everything enabled as Atmos if I turn off the Arc or change settings on the TV (without changing anything
For those interested in running Sonos S1 with SMB/CIFS and have trouble getting it to work on Samba, take a look at SMB server for Sonos S1.
We have a small restaurant with an outdoor and an indoor area and our new setup looks like this:One Sonos Amp to power two pairs of ceiling speakers inside A bunch of Sonos One speakers to cover kitchen, dishwashing room, office etc One Sonos Amp to power two pairs of outdoors speakers We also have a mixer that we have previously used for live music and music quiz outdoorsHow should I set up the new system up in order to be able to run music quiz nights (basically a wireless microphone and a Spotify playlist)? It is no problem if the sound is not perfectly in sync inside and outside. My initial idea was to simply connect the wireless microphone directly to the Sonos Amp powering the outside speakers but (XLR from microphone box to 2 x RCA in to the Sonos Amp). But now I have started wondering what will actually happen when I plug in an input device to the Amp. I want to be able to have mix the music with different volume with the sound from the microphone and I want this mixed sound (vo
Le son de mon sonos connect saute comme et grésille. Mod edit:Google Translate:The sound from my sonos connect pops like and crackles.
The Sonos Amp goes into ‘idle’ mode when it doesn’t detect an audio signal for more than 3 minutes. It’s a shame that the Amp doesn’t automatically wake up from idle mode when the TV it’s connected to is turned on. Every time I switch the TV on, and begin playing content, I miss the first 3 seconds of audio as I wait for the Amp to wake up. Every other audio receiver I’ve used has been able to turn itself on when the TV is turned on, using HDMI CEC control. Could this not be implemented in the Amp? This problem also occurs when you pause whatever content you’re watching for more than 3 minutes - the Amp goes to idle mode, and then you miss the first 3 seconds of audio when you begin playing again. Could idle mode not be disabled when the connected TV is powered on?
I know this question keeps coming up, but with no resolution. Lutron blames Sonos and Vice versa. There must have been a partnership at one time for Lutron to developed a product that can send commands to Sonos. Why can’t Sonos and Lutron work this out without just leaving dis-satisfied customers? Please provide a solution rather than lip service of calling tech support. It is a complete waste of time. we need playlists to be cleared when a new playlist is selected from the pico. Simple code change in the code that shakes hands with Lutron.
With the new interface for Deezer it’s missing some of the features on the Main app the main one being most streamed albums. Is this something that’s likely to be brought back ?
I spent 2 x 2 hours with the hotline keeping on reseting and reinstalling. After struggling on my own given the poor skills fo the hotline staff, i dicovered that it was a 2 clicks solution:-go on your Orange “My Livebox”app,-go on you Wifi set up where you have the mapping of all your connected devices-and finally “authorize” the Sonos device which was blocked A baby fix that Sonos people are not able to identify...sad!
Here’s what I’m connecting and what I’m hoping for is direction on how I should set up all the various items. Thanks in advance. Sonos Arc, sub, two play 1’s. Roku Ultra 4800X Samsung UN65JS850D TV.Roku choices are: a.) Streaming audio format - auto, Dolby, DTS; b.) Digital output format - auto, passthrough, stereo, custom TV choices are: a.) HDMI Audio Format (input) - bitstream, PCM b.) Audio Format (output) - this varies based on choice in HDMI input, I have bitstream selected - PCM, Dolby Digital, DTS Neo 2.5 c.) Hello all, I have a Sonos one, and I am having trouble connecting it to the wifi here at uni. I have registered the MAC of the Sonos on the required uni wifi website, however every time I try and connect the speaker to the wifi through accessory setup on my iPhone on the Sonos app, it tells me an error has occurred, and nothing I seem to do changes this. if anyone has encountered this before or knows a solution please let me knowCheers.
Hi All! So I’ve seen related questions asked a few times but haven’t seen a clear answer for our needs, so thanks for any guidance! We are trying to set up:Sonos Amp (w/ 2x Klipsch bookshelf speakers and an SVS sub) Sonos BeamTo play back our TV audio (which we have connected to an HTPC and a PS4).Geometrically, I’d like to set up the beam underneath the TV (obviously), and the two bookshelves to the left and right sides of the room, between the three getting good coverage and depth for the whole room (it’s a large open-concept studio).I’d like to avoid using the bookshelves as ‘rear’ channels, because we use the speakers for music as much as TV and we want the bookshelves to actually lead the audio, with the beam there to help out and fill out the sound. How do you recommend setting that up from a Sonos perspective? From what I’ve read on these forums, it sounds like the best approach is to make the Amp the ‘master,’ and the Beam a ‘slave’ somehow? Thanks for any advice!
I have two Sonos One SLs in the back at equal distance and a Sonos Arc at the front connected via wifii and eHDMI. I bought the rear speakers last week. I’m watching a soccer game and the sound in the rear speakers literally sounds like waves. The sound of the crowd comes in and out over the voice of the commentators so noticeably it’s making me nauseous. I had to turn them off. I had a Samsung 5.1.2 surround system and it did not do this.It doesn’t happen only with games. It happens with shows and movies as well. The sound in certain scenes comes in and out in waves and I believe it’s when somebody is talking. Is this a bug? A malfunction? This is terrible quality so far. This is a video that I posted on Reddit and you can clearly hear it.
Hello,I guess this is a very basic question but I haven't been able to find a definite answer to it.I have a PS5 plugged into the HDMI port of my Samsung UE55C8700 old SmartTV. My sonos Beam (gen2) is plugged into the HDMI Arc port of this same TV. Impossible to have a Dolby sound: only comes out of PCM Stereo 2.0. (the TV supports Dolby Digital plus)Sonos Support tells me that the Beam can only output Dolby if and only if it's the TV that generates and outputs the sound (in short, if it's an application on the TV). And how to do with a bluray? Have you ever seen a TV with built-in bluray playback??? Is this a joke???
