Bonjour.
Hi. New to Sonos.I am not able to find any detailed info on using the Sonos Amp as a home theatre set up.I have 5.1 conventional setup and thinking of retiring my AV Amp, leaving me with 5 good satellite speakers and a decent sub.It is easy to see how the rear part works with one Amp. Less clear how the front will work. Left, right and sub can work off the Amo (assuming software\config allows), but how is the critical middle channel (under the TV) made to work? Will a single Sonos One deliver the middle channel? Or is the middle channel somehow virtual, which sounds like a weak solution that depends on crucial sound stage questions. I don’t want that.Or am I stuck with having to get a Sonos soundbar? In this case will my front left and right conventional speakers become redundant? Or will they work in concert with the soundbar? Or will the left and right soundbar channels be redundant?I don’t want to buy a Sonos Amp just to feed a low level signal to my well powered sub. Can the sub out
Hello, I have extreme connectivity issues with my pair of ERA 100s. I’m frustrated with them to the point that I am just going to find a way to hardwire them to my router. However, it is more easy and feasible for me to hardwire 1 of them as opposed to both of them. My question is, if I only hardwire 1 of the pair, will the app be able to locate the stereo pair just fine or do both speakers need to be hardwired?
Given the hype of the Nakamichi Dragon 11.4.6 system, it would be amazing to see Sonos support multiple era 300 surrounds. Adding two more 300s to a large space would yield 11.2.6 which I think would be a good option and in a large room suppprt a better atmos experience overall. Bonus points for allowing the use of more than 2 subs. But I can’t see many users doing that.
Hi all --I'm stuck on setting up my Sonos system in a new apartment. I have a Sonos 1 SL, a Sonos 1, and a Sonos Sub. I only have a ethernet wired to wireless access point (no router) in my new apartment. I can get the Sonos 1 to connect to the network but no amount of factory resets, and power cycling can get the Sonos 1 SL and Sub connect. I tried to connect an ethernet cable directly to the wireless access point then to the Sonos 1 Sl but no luck there either. Do you all have any suggestions on getting this thing up and running?
I’m just putting this out there…Sometimes I need to reboot my speakers when an update didn’t install or something like that. I’ve even noticed rebooting speakers helps if they sometimes are cutting in and out due to interference. Regardless of the reason (aside from speakers not being found in the app) I would love it if I could reboot speakers from the app instead of having to walk to each of my 12 Sonos speakers to unplug and plug back in. I’m no programming genius or anything but seems like a reasonable option to have in the app.
FEATURE REQUESTIt would be cool if you could long-press the play/pause button on the Roam to turn it on, and then automatically group it with existing playback in another room.I often strap my Roam to me and walk around the house with it grouped to another room. I have to turn it on, wait for it to wifi, then group it to the other room. It would be nice to automatically wake/power it with the same long-press action that places it in a group. The Roam takes some time to power up, so it might not be an instant response. However, I think it would cut out a step in my workflow (maybe other users too?...) if Play/Pause also served as a POWER ON button when long-pressed.Maybe an audible chime on the long-press from sleep/standby/off will indicate that the speaker acknowledges my request and is working on it.Totally a first-world problem. But something I would like to have.Any thoughts?...
I am looking to add an arc and two era 100 as rears to my living room and the arc would ideally be situated under my TV mounted on the wall.I’ve found out that using the original sonos wall mount will reduce the bass significantly and was wondering if a non original wall mount would still allow the arc to recognise it’s on the wall and reduce the bass? tia
I’d like to use two ERA 100 speakers paired for stereo as the primary output using an Amazon Firestick? Will they work?
I do have a beam gen 2 , sub mini and 2 x Era100 which I use as surround.Lately I noticed that there are connection issues like when watching a movie the sound is totally lost from all speakers for about a second and continues like every minute which annoys me when watching a movie.Recently it went worse and sound stopped totally when watching movie on apple TV ( Netflix) and never came back until I switched to TV then closed the TV and open again. This happened also a few times but I really don’t know the reason. My modem is in the same room with my setup, don’t think there is anything wrong with the wifi.Any of you facing same issues ?
Here is what you need to know to connect your Sonos devices to your T-Mobile wireless internet. This example covers adding a Sonos One and a Sonos Move to the WiFi network. It assumes you have already used the Sonos App to attempt connecting Sonos devices to the T-Mobile wireless internet WiFi network with a T-Mobile FAST 5688W 5G gateway with default settings, which has failed. These instructions should also work for other Sonos products. However, these two Sonos devices, with and without an ethernet port, are used to understand the difference.T-Mobile FAST 5688W 5G gateway default settings:*Dual frequency bands 5GHz and 2.4GHz set to Automatic*WPA version set to WPA2/WPA3*WPA encryption mode set to AES*Network set to NOT HiddenIn this scenario, the Sonos One must be connected to the WiFi Network first since the Sonos Move does not have an Ethernet port. You will need a Sonos product with an ethernet port. Suppose you only have Sonos products without an ethernet port. You must purchase
With Stitcher service ending August 29, 2023, how do I import the OPML file into Sonos (OS S2) that Stitcher created?
I want to mount 1 Era 300 in the center of big open area as a main speaker for back ground listening. I have angled vaulted ceilings. In other words, the wall I'm mounting it on is about 12ft high and the wall directly across the room is 8ft tall. I plan on mounting it around 9ft off thew floor… its my best option. My question is do I mount it right side up or upside down. I know Sonos says that you need at least 2ft clearance above the speaker. I will have 3 to 3.5 ft clearance above the speaker mounting it right side up. Which is best?
I have had my set up for less than 3 months and my Sub Woofer has quit working. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong with it or things I need to check to see why it is not working? Thank you
I am installing a Google Nest (Battery) Doorbell and I need to hear it ring! Can I use any of the Sonos Smart speakers to link with doorbell and sound the chime. Not keen on buying more kit when I already have two Sonos Move and a Sonos One SL speaker at home.
Problem:It's been several months since I've been able to use the Sonos Play:1 speakers (WIFI) in surround with my Sonos Beam (RJ45), when I play music on them, every x minutes or tens of minutes there are sound cuts on one of the Play:1s, as if I was running out of network. If I use them independently there's no problem, I've tried several times to disconnect/reconnect, reset, but each time it's the same problem.I've also tried maximizing the group audio offset, but nothing (then it's not so much an offset, it's outright cuts). There's clearly a problem with communication between the speakers.Apart from the surround (which allows you to have a single "device" playing the music), the "group" functionality is really not optimized, each time having to reset the sound to the same level, having to reselect the speakers to play the music, ...Solution:By switching my Beam to WIFI, the problem no longer seems to occur, I don't understand what could have changed, I've neither changed my router no
Its intermittent, but sometimes the SMAPI endpoint returns “the spotify service is unavailable”. Sonos status page doesn’t know this.
Buckle up because this is a real doozy:I received the Roam for Father’s Day and have been playing a lot of music through my home theater setup (Arc + 2 Ones) and my Roam at the same time. Today, after briefly playing music through both my home theater and my Roam via AirPlay, I noticed that my home theater wasn’t playing audio while my Roam was. I tried reconnecting via AirPlay to the home theater, but received a generic error message on my iPhone. After a lot of troubleshooting including resetting my router multiple times, contacting customer support, unplugging and replugging the Arc, I ended up performing a factory reset. During the post-reset setup, I had to connect to my Arc to WiFi, but I kept getting an error saying that my WiFi password was incorrect when it was not (I cannot stress this enough). In lieu of writing an even longer post, I ended up hardwiring my Arc into my Xfinity xFi gateway and by some miracle, everything worked seamlessly including the initial setup.I would pre
Hi, I have two Move-s in stereo pair which are working great. I would sometimes like to use one of the speakers in bluetooth mode (connected to Iphone). When I use left speaker (from stereo pair) in bluetooth mode everything works great. However, when I try to use right speaker in bluetooth mode, it connects to Iphone, but no there is no sound. I have tried to factory reset that speaker, and the problem persisted. I have also tried to separate stereo pair, then both speakers were working in bluetooth mode (separately of course) without a problem. I have also tried to switch left/right speakers when creating stereo pair, and then the other speaker was not working in bluetooth mode. Does anybody have similar experience? Is it a software bug? Many thanks for all the help! Kind regards,
This seems to be a common problem but the common suggestions won’t fix mine. I had to re-install Windows 10 recently, along with all programs. I downloaded and installed the Sonos application in order to play my music library from the computer, properly set all firewall exceptions, etc., and my computer cannot find my “Sonos product”. The computer is directly connected to the internet/wireless router and my connect:amp and components are connected via wifi. All music streaming services are working properly, after some excellent expertise from Sonos support. Before I bother them again on this problem I’d like to try to resolve it myself, if that’s possible. Can anyone offer a suggestion?
From the FAQ it looks like you have to use the dongle to do line-in to the ERA speakers… but it mentions analog sources like a turntable or cassette player. I assume the dongle is similar to the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm dongle where the DAC is in the dongle. In this case the ADC stage is in the dongle… and that makes sense if you are trying to connect an analog device, but it seems silly that you can’t input a digital source directly without having to do 2 conversions (DAC on the way out of whatever digital device you are using, say a CD player using optical instead of RCA) and then the ADC via the dongle into the ERA100 since its a USBC port and is seemingly expecting a digital signal from the dongle anyway. Any plans to make a dongle that allows straight digital input? If you had a digital signal could a USBC direct connection work (assuming its 24/48 pcm or whatever sonos expects)?
I have just bought a Sonos Port to be able to stream from my CD player. I have since before 2 Play speakers (L/R) created in ”Living Room”. Now I have added Sonos Port to ”Living Room 2” and then combined these two rooms. Now to the issue:When I am streaming directly to Play5 speakers (L/R) from my Iphone everything works fine but when I try to stream from CD via Sonos Port there is only sound in one of th Play5 speakers.Anyone who have the same problem?Have I done something wrong while setting up the Sonos Port?
It is correct (i.e. the same as the spotify website) on our phones (and on CR200s). On the Mac S1 controller, it is a random bunch of options like “Listas populares de los 80” and “Discover more from David Bowie”. Different again on PC S1 Controller e.g. “Meer van wat je leuk vindt” and “Vos mix preferes”. Have un and re installed controllers - no change. Grateful any help to resolve. Thanks.
