Hello? I have a unique TV setup that does not allow for center mounting of a single center channel speaker.I want to put in. A surround sound Sonos system and am curious if I can “link” two speakers together as a center channel or if I will have delay or other issues? Thank you.
How do I use my amplifier with Sonos Beam
I have a Marantz nr1609 with a turntable and CD player. I have no traditional speakers. I have the Sonos Arc, 2 Sonos Gen3 subs and a pair of Sonos ones as my rear surrounds. I will replace the rears with eras at some point. I would like to play audio sources (CDs, Vinyl, and even AM/FM) hooked up to the receiver through the Sonos speakers and I fear I bought the wrong Sonos device. I have experimented with all sorts of hook ups and I am either very obtuse or I bought the wrong device (Port). Does anyone have this setup or similar and can you guide me to the proper hook up, if any? I have analog cables, I have a coax/digital cable and I have optical cables if needed. I searched and found many hooking up Sonos to tape monitor - which I dont have picture of back plane attached thanks for any advice If my receiver isn’t capable, what should I be looking for in a receiver to make this happen thanks in advance
Anyone having issues with a Sonos arc skipping (sound skips for 1-2 seconds?, not having any internet issues with speed or other products. It happens across all streaming platforms.
Hi All, I have a question for my future setup. currently I am having a surround set. Which is connected with Xbox, Apple TV, TV receiver etc. this than goes to HDMI out which I then split to my TV and Beamer. Depending on which one I want to watch I can watch all inputs and have the audio. how can you achieve this with a sonos setup removing the surround set? Maybe a hdmi arc switch? Looking forward to your input.
Why isn’t system showing Dolby or pcm? Not showing any type of description
Hopefully I’ve given all the details in the subject title, but just to expand/reiterate:I can add Tracks, Artists, Albums to Library of an individual music service via the Sonos app. Full functionality such as ‘Thumbs Up’ or ‘Dislike/Dont Recommend”. It’s not *perfect* either, as there will usually be an ‘Add to Favorite Tracks’ and ‘Remove from Favorite Tracks’ on the same track, but that’s more than acceptable, just thought I’d mention it in case it suggests wider problems (or not). I can directly add the track into a Deezer/Spotify playlist OR a Sonos playlist/Sonos library. With Amazon Music, the functionality used to be so much better when I was first experimenting with it, in terms of being able to thumb up / thumb down a recommended track whilst it was playing - wish I had a screenshot to indicate this feature, but alas, I don’t - however I got fed up of the total restriction on searches (I just had to start a random shuffle and even skipping tracks was rate limited) so even tho
Sometimes, not often, I turn on my TV and I have no sound from the ArcI check the volume and then change sources, turn off the TV, turn it back on again, press a few buttons on the Arc and eventually it clicks but on. I think what actually gets it working again is the Sonos Arc volumne button. But surely the Arc should continue at the same volumne as it was last used or a pre-defined volumne. Also if my TV remote control can adjust the volume why does it not work when I have this problem? TIA
I currently own a Connect:amp that is working with a phono preamp, pwrd subwoofer, and a pair of passive speakers. Above is Integrated into Home Sonos net work. Interested in using amp as streamer bypassing amplifier to utilize a integrated amp: which I would like to power stereo, speakers, and sub. Is this possible or do I need to trade for streamer.
I recently got a Move 2 and have had a recurring issue when Automatic TruePlay is enabled. It’s especially noticeable at low volumes: there will be frequent half-second swells in volume before the level returns to what it was before. It’s very bad with ambient music; it will be peacefully humming along, then there’s a sudden spike in volume before returning to normal. It happens on any song, at any part of the song; it isn’t repetitive or triggered by a specific track. It doesn’t happen if I disable Automatic Trueplay. It sounds like for whatever reason, the algorithm that balances Trueplay suddenly thinks “I need to turn up the volume,” then the mics feed back and it lowers it quickly to the previous level. The odd thing is that this doesn’t happen on the original Move. I had a Move placed in the exact same position in our kitchen for over 3 years, and this never happened. As soon as I swapped in a Move 2, I started noticing it.So either there’s a difference in how the Move 2 calculates Au
I am fairly new to Sonos. I have a desktop computer running W10 connected to my router with an ethernet cable.I also have iPhone and iPad with the Sonos S2 app on it.I have more than one Wifi network. I have 3 but my Sonos is on just one. I want to use the Sonos Desktop App but it will not find my Sonos setupI have follwed both sets of guides which I have to say for the novice are excellent. (I am not a novice having worked in the computer world since 1979) My settings were already correct. It is almost like Sonos wants to only work on a wireless setup and is not supporting my wired network of my desktop. I have an Era 300 and an ArcI plan to add another 300 and probably a sub Thanks Steve
I purchased a Sanus wall mount speaker bracket and the product simply can’t take the weight of the speaker. It failed twice and had fallen on the floor! The problem I have now is that the side speaker grill has a large dent in it. Can this be replaced and can Sonos do repairs? I’ve obviously contacted the store where I purchased the bracket from to see if they can assist in any way!
I have sonos play 1 and sonos one speakers paired with a hub… I like the look of the new era speakers and other products, they also come with a Bluetooth connection as well as wifi….I would have thought in this day as tech that some older speakers could still receive an update which they could poss introduce a bluetooth connection into or has the bluetooth software had to be installed in to the original speakers. ???I fully understand sonos cycle as 5 years to introduce other speakers etc etc as like APPLE products but ……
Hello, recently I started noticing degradation in sound quality on certain frequencies. The problem is it happens on a very certain range, usually sounds like outside traffic, rain or similar. The sound at those frequencies seems to be very compressed, turning almost into white noise. I am still not sure if this is a new problem but I haven’t notice it before. So I would like to test it somehow and wonder if there are any ways to test it so I can pinpoin it and be sure the problem is trully on the speaker side and not in the source. Do you know some good sources that will let me test the sound range and its quallity?
Why is Sonor ramming “live gift guide events” on the mobile app… whoch then makes it possible to navigate the app? UNLESS YOU ACCEPT IT. Take this rubbish off our screens.
I have been troubleshooting dropouts on my Play:5s the whole day, and even hard-wired they still dropout playing Spotify. Support is now saying that “They have reached their capacity, please use the upgrade program to purchase new speakers” which is kind of ****. Is anyone else having similar problems? This problem only affects the P100 series speakers, not my newer ones (Play:3, Play:1 which are A100).Replacing my 3 Play:5s with 3 Fives would be like €2000. I wasn’t expecting Sonos to deal with such planned obsolence. Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
24 hours after winning the current stage of a lawsuit, Google is rolling out a feature that allows individual speakers to be in multiple groups.Google wins Sonos patent case, immediately ships speaker software update | Ars TechnicaWhere is Sonos on adding this same feature? I have an Arc, Sub (3G), and 2xEra 300s. Based on my room positioning, I’d love to use the Eras with the sub in a stereo format to listen to music or for TV/movies use all four speakers in full surround (Arc as bar, Eras as surrounds). I can do this by manually changing the speakers between groups but then lose TruePlay functionality unless I want to spend a few minutes configuring Trueplay every time I switch. It feels a little odd that Sonos is suing Google for (at least in part) a feature it isn’t even deploying despite request from the community for years, based on my searching.
I have two KRK Rokit 4” monitors connected to a Sonos Amp as shown in the photo. I was thinking of adding a Sonos Mini base to get more base out of this configuration, but the Sonos mini base is wireless and I don’t believe would work with the Amp. I’m looking for recommendations to add a base speaker to this configuration, or some way to achieve more base.-Thanks
I created events, made copies of them, and modified them. And now I can see two of them for the first time. Nothing remains of them now. Please direct me to them.Gérald
Sonos problemsCan you please help. My speakers keep cutting sometimes individual speakers sometimes complete system. I have invested a great deal of money to a system that is not working. I have the following speakers 1 x Playbar - Ethernet connection 4 x Play 1 - Wireless 2 x One - Wireless 1 x Move - Wireless
Hi All - I would appreciate some thoughts, comments or indeed advice of the effectiveness of Trueplay in its current iteration. I use a couple of Era 300s purely for music listening . Two set up as a stereo pair in one room and a single in another room.Initially I bought the pair to start off with and setup with Trueplay before listening to them. They were just placed on top of a pair of sturdy side tables pretty much equidistant from the listening position and below ear level. They sounded fine. The pair was hooked up to a mini sub. However , I had a real problem with the single unit which is in the bedroom. The 300 was below ear level placed on a side table ; again centrally placed in relation to the listening position but after numerous goes with Trueplay it still sounded quite unbalanced with a loss in the treble and voices sounded muffled; sounded squashed in . I tried to position the speaker in different orientations but no joy. Decided to get a dedicated stand with a variabl
Hi, I have been noticing that the volume on sonos components is very low even when the volume is around 50%. It then gets loud quickly as the volume is increased further. I think this is related to having a linear vs a logarithmic volume slider level. The volume should increase at the same level throughout the range. At best, there should be the option within the settings whether to have a linear or logarithmic volume slider in order to provide both options. With thanksKeith
Sharing my experience with a Sonos Connect and my Netgear Orbi mesh network. TLDR: A wired ethernet connection from my Orbi router to the Sonos Connect S2 has made this connection stable, and overall more reliable. It appears there is an issue with the wifi connectivity from a Sonos Connect. Even when I have a wireless router in the same room (w/in 5’ of the Connect), the connection is unstable with many disconnects. Before hard-wireing the ethernet connection the status Network Matrix was not listing the Connect http://192.168.1.12:1400/support/review After hard-wiring the ethernet connection, the Network Matrix shows all components, but no information in the body of the grid - Is that normal?. Also, One row label is all red with the following info. What does that mean?DenRoot BridgeNoise Floor: -112, -106, -105OFDM ANI level: 9 P.S. Even the sad little Sonos Roam SL that is generally a pain in the arse to use seems to be happier now that the Connect is hard-wired ethernet.
Hi all,I already read about this topic online but didn’t come up with a definitive answer. I have an arc with surrounds and planning to pair it with a sub mini. I lknow sonos recommend the sub gen 3 and say that the mini can be paired and work for a small to medium room. Then I read reviews and people saying that the mini is too weak for the arc that already have powerful woofers and the exact opposite with others saying that it’s a perfect match more up to date and more suited for medium small spaces. Other reviews consider the mini more suited for music because it’s sealed design . II must add that I am not looking for too much base . I Don’t want to disturb neighbours and i usually listen 50% and less my room is 25 to 30 square meters and I think the mini must be enough. But I am wondering if I may be disappointed with the mini not adding enough oomph
I am having trouble getting surround sound to work properly with my system. The system:PS5 for gaming, YouTube, streaming services like Netflix and Amazon PrimeBenQ TK700 4K Gaming projector - Supports eARC with Dolby Atmos & 7.1 pass throughSonos Beam gen 1 with 2 Sonos Ones as surrounds.PS5 is connected to projector with HDMI cable that came with PS5. I also have a new ARC compatible HDMI cable going from AUDIO RETURN output of the projector to my Beam. The Sonos system will play audio just fine but doesn’t seem like I am getting proper surround sound. Sometimes I hear what sounds like 2 channel audio coming from the system. And other times I don’t hear anything at all coming from the rears. Why is this? My Beam gen 1 is the only device that isn’t Dolby Atmos compatible. Will I solve the problem by upgrading to a gen 2 Beam?
