Controllers and Music services

Since this morning my Sonos System is unable to connect to Apple Music.Here is what I done so far resolve the issue: Re-connect the Apple Music accountNow connect successfullyRe-start Sonos App phone and router. Other service than Apple Music are running without issues.  If I choose a song to play the msg appears „Not able to connect to Apple Music“ I checked the Sonos service page and no issues with Apple Music are displayed. 

Suddenly all devices in the house have stopped connecting Spotify to our Sonos:3 - message says 'cant play this right now' when looking at the list of devices. Tried switching off and on, removing Spotify and reconnecting within the Sonos app, but nothing has worked. Does anyone have any ideas that might help? Over the past few months, I’ve noticed that a number of my stored radio stations from Tunein no longer play. Hi,   Google announced that it will discontinue Play Music, and all the music can be migrated to Youtube Music. I just did the migration but now I can’t access my music via Sonos anymore. I added Youtube Music as a new service, but when I click on the service it says I can’t use it without getting a premium subscription. I don’t want a subscription, I just want to listen to my albums I bought from Google Music over a long period of time.   When will you update the YT Music integration to allow us to listen to the music we bought?   Thanks, fame

I just got my new Sonos and everything is great so far. I am an Apple family so I only use Apple Music and Siri. Upon trying to add Apple Music, it seems to recognize my Apple ID but when I click “continue” button I get the error unable to continue or something.  I’ve only had it on for a few moments and all the system updates are applied. I am using iPhone 11 Pro on Public Beta iOS 14. Also seems I can airplay without issue my library, it would be nice to have it fully integrated 

Hi all.  I have recently purchased and plugged my first Sonos speakers. using the Sonos app, I imported all my Apple Music content.  on Apple Music app, I often shuffle on the entire Artist, rather than selecting a specific Album, to listen to. can you please help me and let me know how I can do this on the Sonos app? Also, if I cannot do that (please add it as a feature to correct on the app), how do I create Playlists for Sonos only?Adding artists to my favorites, will simply add those to the first page of the app, rather than allowing me to shuffle on the entire playlist.    Please please please, your help is much appreciated here. hope the Sonos app support crazy people like me :) thank you. 

I’ve played 107.1 The Peak for years on my Sonos system. Now all of sudden I get the error message: “unable to play The Peak / unable to connect to Tunein”?  How can I get my station playing again?

HiI had a Synology NAS DS 216j which unfortunately died a horrible death. I’ve replaced it with a Synology 218[+]. Everything else on my network can see the new NAS and can access it. Unfortunately the S1 controller won’t talk to the new NAS. When I try to add the NAS to the music library I get the error which refers me to the serverstack article.I have fixed the serverstack as MS tell you to, and now showIRPStackSize REG_DWORD 0x000000050 (80). Just for clarity, when trying to add the library, I can browse through to the NAS\music folder and can see all the music there.It’s not the firewall (off or on, same error fault). I have to use the S1 controller as I have a Five which isn’t compatible with S2. I also have a playbar. The S1 can see the Sonos system and works fine otherwise, it just won’t connect to the NAS.I’m running W10 and Norton 360 on the desktop.Any ideas? Search function on iPhone app not bringing up Mixcloud shows under the new “Podcasts and Shows” section. This previously worked when just “Shows” heading before recent release. i’ve reset controller and disconnected/reconnect Mixcloud account on app. Mixcloud search works fine on PC app (you can specify “Mixcloud” search there).   Anyone encountered similar, or even better, overcome issue please?   Many thanks and stay safe   IJP        

It used to work fine and I’m not sure when I lost my search capability. Same result on Mac and iPad: when I search for artists, songs, etc, I get a pop-up saying nothing was found.

Over the past few months, my Sonos One recently started having trouble connecting to spotify, giving me the “can’t play this right now” prompt. It doesn’t work at all from my computer anymore and is intermittent from my phone. I’ve tried resetting the power of the sonos, connecting via wired connection, reauthorizing Spotify and nothing works. Please help!!!   My diagnostics number is 752941994.

Was a happy Sonos SL customer for 5 months.  Amazon Unlimted, pressed the Airplay icon and selected the button for “dining room” and away it went.  Hours and hour of perfect streaming and the speakers worked great.  Last Friday I get a new ISP and new network name and could not get the SONOS speaker to join the new WLAN.   Was on the phone with SONOS tech support for an hour and had to reset the speakers to factory and install SONOS S1 app.  Now I can’t use Airplay from the Amazon App and have to use the S1 App to get the SONOS speakers to work.  Its like SONOS has decided that they want to make me use their App to access my Amazon music.   I want it to work like it used to work.  Was this caused by a new release of SONOS?  Not the end of the world but dammit. I liked it the way it was and I find the user interface on Amazon better than SONOS.

I can’t play 360 songs on my sonos connect ? 

When I go into MySonos, the only option I have when I click Edit is “Recently Played”. “Playlists” does not appear.When I tap the 3 dots to the right of a song, there are no Playlist options in the list - I show “Play in another room”, Play Now, Play Next, Add to end of Queue, and Replace Queue only.FWIW I don’t have a Shared Music Folder set up. Given my SONOS is hard wired to my network, does that mean I have to share a folder on my desktop as a Shared Music Folder to be able to create Playlists and store them there? Or is this a red herring? FWIW I’m running Windows 10.Any help will be appreciated.TIA - R.

Pandora isn’t working this morning through the Sonos App.  Pandora does work from a browser window.  Spotify works fine in the Sonos app.  Hence, seems like a an issue specific to Sonos. Thought I would remove the Pandora service and re-add.  On the re-add, it kept saying to check the network and if the network was fine, to try again later.  Since the network is fine, I tried again later.  Now when I try to add the Pandora service to Sonos, I get a browser tab asking me to input my activation code.  I have no activation code and I see no way of getting one from my Arc.  I checked your status page and is says Pandora is fine.  Something is not right.

Hello is anyone having the following issues when controlling Sonos from the Tidal App: Pausing then resuming the song results in the next song starting (as if the track-forward button was pressed) Adding a song to a queue while controlling Sonos will result in it not being played (TIDAL App for Android Only) Please let me know as Sonos is pointing it to be an issue with my broadband connection as well as the fact there are not other reported issues from users. I’d like to make a better case there could be a widespread bug/issue.

I removed Apple Music from the Sonos app.  However when I attempted to add it again it takes me to the Apple Music Library screen with no prompt to continue linking it to Sonos. 

Hi everyone,  Using a Sonos Play 1 and a Mac, I’m unable to add folders to the Music Library.   The error is: Sonos was unable to add the music folder Access to the shared folder "//computer/folder" is denied - check the username and/or password   I’ve tried the password multiple times - that’s not the problem. I’ve also tried to close and reopen the Sonos program on the computer - the issue persists.    Does anyone have an idea what might resolve this? I searched the forum and found references to guides that only linked to the general support page - it appears the database has shifted and the links have broken.

I have copied the content of the original post and best answer below my description.When listening to Spotify on a Sonos speaker, Friend Activity in Sonos is not updated for me or my partner (both have our own Spotify accounts). All other friends linked in Spotify activity updates regularly. Hi I have a Sonos Move, and iPhone 11 pro (all software up to date). When I use siri to play music on the Move from my local iPhone music collection, the first song played is abnormally loud, and so if I don’t adjust the volume, the 2nd song played is very quiet. If after using Siri I adjust the volume slightly it jumps down the normal level. I have used ivolume to normalise volume across my collection and the tracks are fine on other airplay 1 speakers (but of course they can’t be played with siri), so I think this is an issue specifically related to Sonos and airplay 2. I have Alexa enabled on the Move and notice similarly that despite asking Alexa to set volume 3 - quite a low level, it’s always really loud when it starts next time. Has anyone else experience this and any suggestions on how to fix it?

I typed this out and it got lost, so you’re getting a shortened version. Spotify often starts playing a random playlist when I tell ask the speaker to ‘Play Spotify’ via Google Assistant. For instance, my Arc had been grouped with the rest of my house and was playing the ‘Discover Weekly’ playlist. I then watched some TV, then asked it to play Spotify again. It started playing the ‘Sublime’ playlist, which I haven’t listened to in MONTHS. Additionally, it usually takes two voice invocations to get Spotify playing when it’s been idle for a while. The first one gets a positive response from the Assistant, but neither the Sonos nor Spotify apps think that the speaker is playing. I have to say it again to get it going. Please, please, please fix this, the current behaviour is INFURIATING. I miss the S1 behaviour where it would simply resume playing whatever the most recent device was. Ever since the update to the S2 controller on iOS, functionality seems painfully slow. Amazon music, for example, is particularly slow to render album artwork and there is a significant delay in initiating playback. Same with other services. I have fast wifi and my system is wired in on Sonosnet, so not reliant on my own wifi network.  Anyone else noticed similar slow functionality with S2? Bit disappointed to be honest.       

I recently updated my Sonos app to S2 - since then I have been having issues playing tuneIn radio. Initially it used play intermittently but now is not connecting to TuneIn at all.  Any help is appreciated.    thank you. 

Hi,   I have a pair of Play 5 + Sub and a computer connected to one of the Line In. It used to work perfectly fine until one the Play 5 was not visible - it lost Wifi settings - I got it back online, and now I have a 3s delay between the image on screen and the sound throuh the Play 5… It worked nicely for many years !   It also happened 8 days ago to another french relation.   I tried: No Compression Changing the volume / level of the inpu Changing sonosNet Channel (1,6,11) But nothing works, and support does not have a solution.. I feel desperate as it makes the system useless: 3s of delay is terrible !!   Cheers

Hi there,  My wife and I just recently got Spotify Premium Duo. We both have the Spotify and Sonos App on our phone. We added both Spotify accounts to the Sonos app.   The issue: when I’m listen to Spotify on my phone (via bluetooth headset in the office), if my wife starts playing Spotify via the Sonos Beam, my Spotify turns off?   From my understanding, because we have Spotify Duo, we should both be able to use Spotify at the same time.    Thank you for the help.
