I am using S1 system, with a number of S1 only products.  I am getting a message ‘Unable to connect to music library’. The music library is stored on a networked PC. I have configured the PC for sharing, including the firewall. The fiilename is correct. I thought I would try to remove the library and reinstall it, but the Sonos S1 controller app won’t let me do that without updating the software, which I presume would then update it to S2 and I wouldn’t then be able to use my system.  Can someone help?  Thanks.

Hi @armavirumque, welcome to the Sonos Community!

It should just be trying to update to the latest version of the S1 app - there’s no direct upgrade from the desktop S1 app to the desktop S2 app, however the desktop app needs to be running the same exact software “build" as the speakers in the system.

If you’d like to be absolutely sure, you can find here a link to download the latest version of the Sonos S1 controller app :)
