Controllers and Music services

hi!Just been on a chat with sonos trying to sort out issues with playing music from my Huawei P10 (running android 9.1.0 and emui 9.10) to my sonos play 1 speaker.  I used to have a deezer subscription but ceased paying for it last year.I have been trying to use my speaker to play music from my library on my phone, unsuccessfully. The app skips tracks without playing the whole song and then stops working altogether. It also throws up messages about network connection issues even when I have the speaker plugged into the router.The chat with sonos suggested the issue was moving off the app to use the phone for something else and the screen powering off. Has this been an issue for others?  I have changed my phone settings so the screen never powers off and have only had the app running. All is good, but this doesn't really work!  I need to use the phone to do other things, which I could do when streaming.  Are there any gets rounds? I'm using the Huawei music app, but would try something

Hi there, I have a Sonos Play 1 version 11.1 and it’s been fine for a long time until today I notice that playlists on the My Sonos are intermittently appearing and disappearing. I usually see Recently Played, Albums, Playlists and Stations but sometimes when I start up the app the Playlists section is missing.    I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app and rebooted the speaker but this doesn’t fix the problem. I’m running the app on iPad and IPhone and both devices are affected. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thanks, Dave        

Not quite sure where to start.  I've had Sonos for several years now.  These days I use it mainly for streaming functionality and radio listening.  But I have a very large music library on my PC that I used to also listen to on the Sonos and would like to again.  I would also like that functionality to be available from my Ipad and Iphone.  My library exceeds the Sonos's capacity and I for awhile tried to get Plex working without success.  So I haven't tried to use the library for some time now.  I am having multiple problems.  First of all, is there a way to access a limited portion of my library via the Sonos (almost like accessing a playlist rather than the whole library?  Also, when I try to enter the path to my music library, the path disappears the next time I try to access it.  When I try to access things from my Ipad or Iphone, I get a "computer not responding" message even though I have configured the firewall to allow Sonos through and my wi-fi (Google mesh network) is good a

I greatly prefer using the iTunes music app native to my iPhone to play music.  I have speakers in my bedroom, living room, and kitchen.  More often than not, at least one or more of the rooms does not show as an AirPlay option.  The missing speaker(s) are always available in the Sonos app though.  I have found that renaming them and then restoring them to the original name seems to usually work (ie, change “kitchen” to “bathroom” and then back to “kitchen” and then “kitchen” again shows as an option in the iTunes app.  It is super frustrating.  My old rig was with an old AirPort Express- worked flawlessly.  I expected Sonos to be an upgrade, but it is just very disappointing.  Am I missing something?  I prefer to not be forced into the Sonos app to play my library (all songs downloaded to my phone).

For some reason i cannot see any of my playlists on “My Sonos” I only have Resent, songs and stations.Until today it was only an issue on my ipad, but not it is also missing on my Phone.An update maybe ? 

I can find music on the YouTube Music app which doesn't appear in the Sonos interface - do only things listed as "songs" appear, not videos? I have a premium account. Thank you!

I have spent around 2 years building playlists for various occasions and moods but they have recently disappeared off my Sonos control app and there are currently no playlists on the playlists list. Please help!

Amazon HD keeps cutting in and out during playback a got a message from somewhere stating that the buffer couldn’t keep up with desired bitrate? 

I am using Sonos S1 and previously had no issues connecting to Mycloud Home. After a recent router change, Sonos is apparently still connecting to MyCloud (password accepted), but the files are shown empty. MyCloud Home is working ok, direct access through PC is going well. It seems, Sonos is unable to open the music files. Any thoughts? 

Hihave a different win10 laptop so reinstalled Sonos - need Plex as am over the 65000 limithave been trying all options i know but nothing seems to work  have old system so using S1 controller problem 1    Sonos will not connect to WDMirror NAS  will find folder but wont connect wants a password - i have tried the one for  the NAS the folder should not need one but seems to want one !!problem 2     Sonos will recognise Plex and show some of what is on the NAS drive  but wont connect so can play the music as says need remote access - but this has been given  Plex will play the songs via laptop but not via Sonos all help welcomed

Hi All, Can someone please direct me to instructions on how to add my iTunes playlists into my Sonos music library?  I have already imported the music library (on an external drive).  I tried to also import the iTunes folder within the Windows Music folder, but the playlists don’t import.  The playlist section within the Sonos app is blank.  I’m assuming there’s a way to import iTunes playlists.  Please help.Thanks!

Once again this morning, Sonos Radio can’t play any radio station in my favourites.My app is up to date. I already unplugged my Sonos devices and plugged them back in, but none of that works.Interestingly, the very same radio station does work on TuneIn, so it’s clearly a Sonos Radio problem.This happens regularly in the past few weeks, and the problem disappears after a few hours mysteriously… But then the next morning it’s back again.Why can’t this service “just work”??

Hi all, I would love to try radio hd but when I click on the free trial it tells me I need the up to date s2 software. I check for updates which it tells me I am 😫. I've deleted the app on every device that controls my sonos system and reinstalled it yet its still telling me I do not have the up to date version of the app 🤷‍♂️..... has anyone had this issue and been able to solve it? Cheers Dan

I listen to music with long songs and have noticed that Youtube music cuts out and stops playing tracks right around 11:30 minutes.  It then skips to the next track.  The error message is the dreaded “ the song is not encoded correctly.”This hadn’t been happening for a while, but started up a couple of days ago.  The same song streams from my laptop with no problem.I know that there are a lot of issues with Youtube music, but this one is becoming a showstopper.Diagnostic: 767899802Also, please, please, please, do not tell me that the problem is my wifi or internet connection.  It is not.  This literally only happens when I stream Youtube music through Sonos.  Other services through Sonos are fine, and streaming directly through Youtube music via web browser is also fine. 

I recently setup a pair of sonos with One & One SL. The google assistant works well for playing music (from Spotify) on both speakers. However, when I try to use GA to play podcasts (from Google’s podcasts) it only plays on One. Anyway to make it play podcasts on both speakers?

Hello - I have a Sonos One and a Sonos One SL paired in my kitchen and I would like to use them with Apple Airplay.  Apple Airplay seems them, but has never been able to connect - return error message “AirPlay - Unable to connect to “Kitchen””.Everything seems up to date, so I stuck for a solution 

Simple issue, I hope. My iPhone cannot see my Sonos speakers anymore via Airplay. Just updated to the latest iOS, but so did the rest of my family and they're not having the same issue. Worked forever. Doesn’t now.

When I try to play music from my music library I get the “unable to play because computer can’t find the server message.”  And the pathway to the specific song - which Sonos can’t find - is the pathway from my old computer that I got rid of about 18 months ago.  I was able to play music from my library until recently - I cannot remember if the change happened after I upgraded to Big Sur or not.  Any advice?Facts:  My Music Library is on my Mac.  I have removed the old music folder in the Sonos settings which had been carried over from before the upgrade and have installed the new music folder.  I have also uninstalled the Sonos controller - S1 since i have an old speaker - and reinstalled it to see if that would shake things up.  Again, even though I have installed my new music folder for some reason Sonos still searches for the old pathway when I click on a song.  There is no firewall on.  File Sharing is not checked.   And I access the Sonos speaker over wireless but not my library. 

I just got my Sonos Beam set up and it’s been playing music great from my iPhone, iPad, and just from the Sonos itself after setting up a voice assistant. However, I’ve run into a problem with my 2016 MacBook Pro. Whenever I Airplay computer audio to the Beam, it looks like everything is working correctly: the Sonos app even displays the correct Youtube video name. But there is no sound coming out of the speaker itself.I wanted to listen to songs on YouTube using Airplay from my computer. Any idea why this might not be working? I’ve tried the standard troubleshooting process (restarting the speaker, computer, and router) But so far still nothing. Any help would be appreciated

Hello, I am trying to play my iTunes playlists through Sonos but cannot see them.I have followed all the steps:in Settings / Manage music library, I have added the folder where iTunes music library lives - I can see all the songs/artists/albums fine in Sonos. I have exported each playlist in XLM format from iTunes and saved them in the same folder as above. I have Updated the Music library to ensure all changes are indexed.After all this when I go to Music Library / Imported playlists - there is still no selection available. What am I missing? Thanks. 

Hi, when I search for a specific song and selected it Sonos plays a different wrong song. Help please

Sonos stops playing JazzGrove music after about an hour or two. Have to open ap and hit play button and music play will resume

I’ve been using the KISS service for a couple years now, but for the last few weeks it only lets me stream Kiss, Kisstory and Kiss Fresh. It won’t stream Kiss Fresh, Garage or Dance anymore.The stations appear in the list but as soon as I hit play nothing happens. I also have the dedicated Kiss app on my phone and that plays all the stations with no problems... but would love to start paying them through Sonos again. Any ideas?

Recently purchased a new Macbook M1 (2020) with Big Sur OS. I’m now unable add my music library that sits in my Music folder and another music folder on my external hard drive.I get the messages “computer refused to let Sonos connect to it” and sometimes a message saying it cannot find my computer.I have tried EVERYTHING including:Enabled file sharing - adding/ticking the relevant folders in System Preferences Shortened/change computer name - making sure it matches the name in network settings Checked if approved as an incoming connection in firewall settings Checked if added in Full Disk Access and Accessibility within the Privacy options Was on the phone with customer service for a good hour+ to no help.Are Sonos speakers currently not compatible with Big Sur/Apple M1 issue??
