Controllers and Music services

I must be using the wrong terminologies when searching for an answer to this. There are times when I want to use surround sound for movies etc, and there are times when I want to have just stereo for music.  So, I added a separate Sonos account on my ipad.  However, the ipad won’t let me sign in to Sonos with my new user name and pw.  Here is what I get: status_code "401 UNAUTHORIZED" message "authorize flow not properly initiated"  I can’t be the only person wanting to do this. There are lots of questions about similar challenged on this community but I haven’t been able to find an answer as to how to have two separate system settings for 1)surround and 2)hifi stereo.Background info:Beam Gen 2, Two Era 300’s, Sub mini All in one room (no interest in having music in any other room) Using iphone for Sonos app LG C1 tv Comcast “

After entering about half of the albums I want into a playlist, it will not allow any more albums. Recieve a message “unable to add …..to ….playlist.  These are albums on my computer.

I like to play music in Dolby Atmos. But unfortunately it only works through the Sonos app. I'm annoyed by the inaccurate search, the slowness of the app, the long loading times. It drives me crazy.Is Sonos planning a fix?

Various people have messed around with my system ( including myself!) . It is a complete mess and I want to redefine rooms/ speaker groups. How do I achieve this without the need to completely go back to factory settings?

hi all. For certain podcasts I am getting the message - the connection to myTuner radio was lost - and podcast will not play. Other myTuner podcasts do play OK. I have refreshed source etc. Specific podcats are:DishKermode and MayoCrucible moments Thanks for any helps

Just purchased my first Sonos device (the Beam Gen2) and have it connected to the Apple Music service and my music library using the Sonos app on my phone.  Only using SonosVoice and so far it is working great. My family also uses Apple’s Family Sharing and my wife has her own library.  To get her library connected to the Beam is it as simple as using the Sonos app on her phone to connect to the Beam?   Does she create her own account or use the account I created when I first set up the Beam? Will the Beam’s SonosVoice assistant be able to identify both my voice and my wife’s voice and then use the appropriate libraries?

This problem seems to have fallen off the watchlist at SONOS.  I called over a year ago after I upgraded my NAS to a SSD to store my music local for my SONOS system.  The last time I called I was told “SONOS knows about the problem they are working on a fix.”   The error ‘//outta/l/music” is no longer available … blah blah.  I can mount the location using a Windows 10 and Windows 11 system as well as a MacBook Pro so that eliminates and possible connection issues.    Has ANYONE connect an external disk to TP Link Router and had success getting the SONOS app to work?

From my wife’s  i-phone i can control itfrom mine it says  IMPOSSIBLE TO CONNECTcould it be a phone problem?

For weeks now Sonos skips every other song in the queue. It seems to only be while using Spotify, which is my main source. I’m on the older software v1, and up to date. It gives an error that it can’t play this song and moves it up the queue and plays the next. However, I can go back to the song and double click and it plays fine.  Help! Thanks!BRent

I’ve been using TuneIn for years for Double J and Triple J channels (from ABC Australia). When TuneIn announced the new service they suggestion I added the new TuneIn service, whcih I did. But when I browse there is no “My Radio Station” option, in fact the whole TuneIn selection is different … and I cannot even find any means of searching the new TuneIn choices.Wondering if I am the only person experiencing this?

Hello - hope someone out there can answer this as I’ve tried everything.  I recently purchased a new computer and have reinstalled the Sonos app.  I have also reinstalled my iTunes and re-established the correct music library path.  Even though the legacy path with former computer name has been purged, Sonos is still trying to use this to play music, so I only get an unable to play message.  I have gone rounds with this removed, reinstalled, reset everything including the Sonos app but nothing seems to work.  What gives?Note:  the music path setting is correct but the error message when trying to play clearly shows the legacy path.

How can I increase the listening speed of my audiobook from Libby using the Sonos app?  I can increase the speed when listening to Libby normally but not when I want to listen to my book on my Sonos

When trying to add my iTunes music folder to my Music Library, the indexing runs for a minute then fails with “<share path> is no longer available. The device where the music files are stored may not be powered on, or the path may have changed.”  I have been researching this and I’m not the only one experiencing this issue.  I have drilled further from the iTunes Music folder to the next level (the Artist) and it will add the music instantly seeing the album and then song.I am running DSM 7.2, Sonos S2 Version 15.11 on both Windows 11, and IOS.  SMBv1 set as minimum with SMBv3 as maximum.  Diagnostics submitted: 2120586443.

Spotify shuffle has three states: not shuffled, shuffled, smart shuffled. The third option will let Spotify recommend and add songs to your queue and playlist. However, Sonos only have two. When enabling shuffling on Sonos, it will actually enable smart shuffle on Spotify, leading to unwanted songs in my playlist.A current workaround is just disconnect and revoke spotify approval to sonos. I think it’s the problem from Sonos side.

Whether I use the Sonos app to listen to Pandora or cast to the Sonos Arc from the Pandora app, the AutoPlay feature does not work.  However, AutoPlay does work from the Pandora app if I use Bluetooth to my car or other non-Sonos speakers.  I emailed and discussed this issue with Sonos customer support and received the reply below - basically, they know this is a problem and have no get-well date.  My questions:Has this been fixed yet (I cancelled my Pandora Premium subscription so I cannot check if it works)? I’ve noticed some strange ghostly Sonos playing, that shouldn’t be happening!If I ask Alexa (using the Sonos mic) to play something on Spotify, then stop it, then get in the car (which automatically starts Apple CarPlay and plays music from Spotify) the music in the house will continue playing too!I only noticed this because it was my wife who got in the car while I was still at home.I can’t imagine how, but is there a way I can prevent this from happening or is this a bug with Sonos, Spotify or Apple CarPlay? It has left me wondering how often this has happened when we are both out of the house!!I’m happy to run further tests/diagnostics to try and figure out the root causes. Thanks, Paul

SMB 2 and 3 supposed to be supported but always fails indexing a library on a NAS. Have to switch SMB1 on to enable indexing. Once done switch off and will load and play library.Synology DS723+DSM 7.2.1-69057 update 3Mac Sonama with S2 build 15.11.Anyone solved this? I read a post about it all working fine, but not for me. 100s of posts out there. 

Sonos Roam, Sonos android app, trying to create a playlist of “BBC6 music” (via “Sonos Radio Station”), TripleJ (“TuneIn Station”, Australian radio) and DoubleJ (also via “TuneIn Station”).The three are in the “Stations” but weirdly only BBC6 can be added into “Favorites”.Anyway, the goal is to go to the next/prev station by double/triple tapping on the speaker’s “play” button, is there a way to achieve such thing? Hi, I’ve been setting up Sonos system, right now only one speaker 8) (Roam SL)I’ve configured a Windows 10 Pro laptop to have a shared music folder with subdirectories of artist\album.Using the android sonos app I’ve tried indexing the directory. The app seems to start indexing, but only one album shows up as available. All the files have the same permission level set to “Read”.(There are 100+ artists)Has anybody experienced this, or indeed is there a workaround/fix ?Many thanks

I have many playlists created in Apple Music.  They are comprised of songs I own and songs through Apple Music streaming service.  The way that the Apple Music app sorts playlists is alphabetically with a priority (listed at the top of the list) to folders made up of multiple play lists.  To me this is the way I prefer my playlists sorted with folders first.  However, in the Sonos app (iOS and Windows desktop) there isn’t way that I can find to change how playlists are displayed.  They appear to be in alphabetical order with the priority to individual playlists first then at the bottom comes the playlist folders.  Am I wrong and is there a way to change how these are sorted?  Thanks!

so i bought a NAS from Western Digital in the Summer when the SMB2 issue meant the SD card would no longer work.  I set it up with the WD app which Sonos had in the options,  i was away for a while and had been using the Wife’s old talblet to play music but the oher week i realised th WD app had also gone and i needed to use thee SMB2 connection,  I have asked WD support but i cant get it to link.  has anyone had same issue and a solution?   i have tried multiple variations to the path with and without the past woords logon etc.  Just says unable to connect, possible error (900).  Waiting on WD to come back .  

Thought this was worth a message, as I've been struggling with Sonos/Spotify for the last year, to the point I stopped using it due to frustration.Like lots of others on here, Sonos worked OK via Spotify app. Using Spotify through the Sonos app resulted in dropped connections all the time.Lots of reading, contacted Sonos support etc but never got anywhere with all the updates, resets/reboots/re-authorising accounts and clearing playlists etc. All appeared temp fixes.Pleased to say all is now working fine by adding a traffic rule to enable the mdns setting:Address 224.0.0.251Port 5353Screen shot below showing more, defo worth checking your router settings or googling this to set up your router if you've got the same issues!For info, if relevant my split s1/s2 system is connected wirelessly to a 5g teltonika TRB500 gateway via Devolo magic 2 homeplugs so totally off the supported setups list!!
