Controllers and Music services

I’ve got a handful of Sonos devices using the (dreaded) S2 app on iPhone & iPad (latest versions of iOS/App).I’ve named each of the devices/rooms appropriately and some names stick (e.g. Kitchen which has a Play:1, Living Room which has 2xPlay:3 + Sub) but others (e.g. Snug with a Five,  Garden office running an Arc) don’t.  They look like the name has stuck but at some undetermined point in the future, it reverts to Sonos Five (so I have a couple of rooms with the same name or a name which isn’t helpful to anyone other than myself as guests don’t know/care about the device type).I’ve tried using either the canned names (which I don’t want to do as they don’t all match the names I use for the rooms) or bespoke names but the same happens. I’ve looked through a load of other posts but they all seem to be about how to rename a device from the app rather than it not working. Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong or is this just another bug which will at some point be fixed? 

I recently got a few Symfonisk speakers, and encountered and issue when adding youtube music, my primary streaming service, to my account. When i go to access my playlist, most being over 100, with a few encroaching on 500, i find that the list will loop after the first 100 or so songs, meaning i am unable to view any songs in my playlist after the first 100. Steps to reproduce the issue:Add Youtube music account Open any playlist over 100 songs Scroll down the playlist until you reach the 100th song, and voila, you will see that same section of the list repeat over, and over, and over, and over, and over!This is an issue I've had for a while, i had a Sonos play:1 a few months back, and it had the same problem. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, using different phones, and as previously noted, even using completely different products, all with the same problem.I can add any more details if necessary, but in my case, it really is as simple as that, nothing really more to

Hi,For more than a year now, I’ve had a persistent issue where I need to re-authenticate my YouSee Music account in the Sonos app **every single day** to be able to play music.I’ve contacted Sonos support (ref: ******** ) and was told the engineering team is aware and working on it – but no ETA has been provided. Also, there’s been no clear statement on how or when affected users will be informed.I’ve followed the “remove and re-add service” workaround from YouSee, but it’s only a short-term fix. This issue started after the new Sonos app was launched – and it still isn’t resolved.❓Is there any official update on this issue?  ❓Has it been identified and prioritised internally?Thanks in advance – hoping the community (or someone from Sonos) can shed some light on this.Moderator edit: Case number recorded and removed

This is me: I am a 79 year old guy who began my hi-fi journey in 1971. Last year I upgraded from an Arc to an Ultra; I hear a positive difference. My rear surrounds are in-ceiling Klipsch speakers powered by a Sonos Amp; works fine, a real improvement from the SL Ones, which I sold. My Sub 3 is in the hardware mix, too. Good device.Late to the party I guess, but I just heard about Sonosequencr a few days ago, and I am interested. I am reading all I can find on the internet, but need more information from real users.I would choose between a pair of Era 100s or Fives as exernal l/r speakers, but space and budget have me looking to the Era 100s. Looks like I still have a 15% discount coming from Sonos. I would love the Fives, but WAF would prevail. Not sure there is enough audio info to make good use of the Fives.Hardware choice is the easy part. I would like to hear from my fellow users about your experiences with the software. How can we remove other guests from spotify connect.So they are no longer linked to a speaker or multiple.We have a house that we let friends and family come in. And we ourself are also in the house often. But sometimes the Sonos starts playing music - and then someone's Spotify is still linked to sonos.How do we get rid of it. Since there is no Sonos account linked in the services.And since there are many friends who also can connect to the Sonos. We never know who is / was there. And played on the different speakers.We have Home Assistant running - if this helps with a solution.

When the HE, double Hockey Sticks is Sonos going to fix the Android S2 app so that there are playback controls on the phone lock screen??? This is a ridiculous, and somewhat insulting, oversight!

How do I get my Beam to play music from my network library? I have a Microsoft environment. 

In the past few days, my Sonos app shows a small circle with a "1" in It showing in the upper corner of the speaker image in the display. It looks like.a notification indicator of some sort.  But selecting it does nothing.What is it for, and why has it just started appearingThanksRon

Hi there I have been using Amazon Prime for streaming and just seen its now £20 a month.  Please can anyone recommend a good streaming app for my in multi room amp the speakers are built I to ceilings.Thank you.  

So, like many, I have older S1 SMBv1 compatible units that can no longer access shared drives on my NAS, even if I enable SMBv1 on the NAS. I was frustrated and had read many on here with the same issues and frustrations. So I set about finding a way around this.My solution will not work for everyone (I know, sorry) but those with a compatible NAS should be able to do this.What worked for me.I run TrueNas on my Beelink NAS. (It’s available as a installable package on many NAS brands) I installed Plex server on my NAS and configured it to run a media server on my local network only. I then added the Plex music service to my old S1 devices and now have access to all my music again! Here’s a video to help with the setup of Plex on the NAS. I only have the free version of Plex and it is working fine, so far.I hope that helps some of you! I was getting really annoyed not being able to access my music since I upgraded my storage but as the saying goes “there are no problems, only solutions”

Trying to play music from Plex to my sonos. I get the following error message. - “Unable to play ‘song title’ - the connection to Plex was lost”I tried everything.I have the same problem if I use the app on my phone or my computer. I am able to play these songs through “Plexamp” - which makes me think it is a Sonos problem?My server is hosted on a Synology 718+.I have the same issue whether I am in the home network or outside (1 Gbit).Thanks for helping.

I wonder if my Sonos will ever work again as well as it did before the update. It’s been a year and I grit my teeth every time I use it. Times out, doesn’t connect, drops components, sound glitches.

while I have a well controlled environment with my music library on a Synology NAS that works fine, I would like to have some insight about the repository on SONOS - in particular I would like to know how SONOS stores the index and on which devices (if not all) - I have a mixture of SONOS devices (Move, Beam, One, Five, Port, Amp, etc.) and would like to know if there are any good practices to follow to make the Music library update work faster  - many thanks in advance 

My Apple Music library playlist (rips of my CDs) came in as this gibberish mess. How do I fix it? The songs play fine but, I have a lot of playlists I would like to play. 

Group volume not synchronised so each speaker a pain to adjust to same level volume each time!  used to be able to zero main slider and realign all volume sliders that way but not working now! 

Sonos Connect started to make  unstable stoppages during Spotify playbacks. I assume, it started roughly with the final software update... Please someone help!!!

Hello All BBC sounds channels and podcasts have stopped playing on my Sonos system this morning having worked fine yesterday. Is anyone else having this problem in the UK? Thanks 

When, Oh WHEN will my Sonos app list my playlists alphabetically? They are already alphabetical in my Tidal streaming service. Surely this is possible?

Hi, I’ve purchased a used Sonos 5. I have set an account on the Sonos website but, when I go into the app, it asks me to  sign in but gives me (I guess) part of the previous owners email address and, I cannot submit my own.could you please advise of a solution to this issue?thanks 

Brand new Era 100 stereo pair will not airplay. Have Sonos Beam connected to my TV and every time I attempt to Airplay via IPhone and IPad I receive a message “Control other speakers and TVs.” Then a message “unable to connect to Family Room.” Tried rebooting speakers without any change. I have a one SL in another room that works with airplay 

Hi, I love entertaining and keeping my music in the Bathroom, but sometimes I want to crank and jam on certain speakers but don’t want all my speakers in my group cranked. I suggest adding a volume lock feature so while speakers are grouped, individual ones can be locked so their volume will remain fixed even while the entire group volume is altered. Thank you

Still cannot get my local music library to work.Stored in various places on Windows pc with attached hard drive also..Have been onto Support 3 times and they have got it working and then the next day back to the same scenario.. Cannot play music message…. Have tried the delete and re-add library and get the 913 error ..Have tried all the Share and Permission stuff…sooo frustrating..hellp!!
