To my knowledge Sonos doesn’t currently work with any ‘cloud based NAS’ companies. But you can certainly stream from other companies who are aware you own music, such as Apple.

There are likely semi (or extremely) obscure methods to connect, but essentially Sonos works with NAS’ connected on the same subnet, or the various streaming companies that have associated themselves with Sonos. As soon as you place your NAS data ‘in the cloud’, it is no longer on the same subnet.

One of the reasons I installed SONOS was because I could store my music locally. I use a NAS drive because I may want to shut down my computer during testing or development and the music continues. Now, there are alternatives, such as a router with a USB port or a micro computer, such as a Raspberry Pi that uses less space and power compared to a traditional NAS.

I don’t know of a cloud based smb for Sonos, but you can upload your music to Astiga or iBroadcast and access it on Sonos.

For a simple local solution look at a Raspberry Pi Zero and the Open Media Vault software.

There are other Pi options but the Zero is all you need for Sonos.
