At issue the multiple lines for single compilation Albums that still has not been fixed.

  1. I know this has been “answered” multiple times...incorrectly.  Not a feature...a mistake.
  2. Music players all over the market work for album compilations, without users having to alter meta data...even free ones...except Sonos.

I love Sonos.  I have a library of over 14,000 items.  No I shouldn't have to change those.

Please, reconsider correcting the database method that has led to this problem.

Thank you for reconsidering.

This is being looked at, although it wouldn’t do any harm if you raised a case too with Sonos support.

It doesn’t just impact compilations. And yes, we’re all frustrated on this for the same reasons you state… 😉

Forum posts get some visibility, far less than a phone call to support.

Things with low visibility and that are rarely used (like the music library) need all the visibility they can get to move up on the priority fix list.

Thanks for the support suggestion.  I'll go ahead and do that.

As to the lesser used comment: If you looked at our usage, we have 1 person who streams all the time.  We don't use our music library for as many hours a day as that person.

  1. One is passive, and is not a good way to measure use.
  2. People won't use a malfunctioning local library service as much.  No way to compare accurately.  Sonos has lost a lot of market share though.
  3. People who pay for the system, especially more expensive hardware are more likely to have their own music.
  4. Example: We stopped going to a certain restaurant because they got rid of the items that the person paying liked.  The items were less ordered and more expensive to prep.  They lost 4 clients for the price of one.

Marketing is a tricky field, takes a real expert and years of experience to get good results.

Sometimes as counterintuitive as it seems having less customers is more profitable than having more, as long as the ones lost were costing more to support than they were bringing in income.

I've seen companies that had an ongoing contract option refuse to renew, not just ask for more money, to shed problem customers.
