Basic functionality is missing from the new app. I cant even see what volume number speakers are on unless i click into the group. Syncing all grouped speakers to the same volume feature would be super useful. Doesn't seem like Im the only one who isnt a fan of the new app.
Last night my SONOS iOS app was FORCED updated to the latest version and has now rendered my system inoperative. Attempts to connect to my SYNOLOGY NAS are failing. The APP is PURGE GARBAGE!!!! I tis not easy to navigate My SONOS system was setup to NOT automatically update. Attempts to contact SONOS are useless. The wait time are extremely long. I do NOT care about their important launch that is coming up. In fact, based on how they are treating their loyal customers I am considering selling everything and looking for an alternative.
Everything I’m finding on the Google is a few years old or involves lots of words like XML.I have built a number of playlists in Sonos.I’m hearing that a number of users have lost theirs when they “upgraded” their app.Is there a way to backup (or export) the lists, so if that happens, I can re-import them into Sonos?(And if “yes”, how?)Thank you
Why release software before it has been checked? - why discontinue working apps (DesktopApp) before supplying an updated one? - why do Sonos continue to employ useless software engineers instead of populating the workforce with more able 12 year olds?At least Apple support devices for at least 7 years - my 18 month old Sonos set up seems obsolete already.I was just sent this in an online chat “To access your music library on Sonos, you can stream it from any computer or network attached storage drive to your Sonos system. Here's how you can do it using the Sonos app for macOS or Windows” - the chat ended when I asked where to get this App.
Hi all. I’m less than amused with the alarm being removed from the latest app update, is it coming back? if not how can I turn off the 2 alarms I have set? They are still coming on every morning at 6:45am in my bedroom and 7:15am in my sons bedroom….. Rather annoying. cheers Stu.
Since the Sonos S2 Version 80.00.08 controller for iOS iPhone 13 (v 17.4.1) was introduced a few days ago, it cannot be used consistently producing error messages. “A problem has occured”. Stations previously listened to in MyTuner Radio are no longer available. Some speakers “disappear” and cannot play. “Applying” a change of speaker does not work consistely. My Web version with 5 speaker units still works perfectly. The worse thing is that obtaining support, whatever the time of day, produces 50 minute waits. This is totally unacceptable. Considering the investment made in Sonos (including change from S1 to S2 units, the company is failing its customers and needs to react very quickly. With very comprehensive explanations for a new corrected software.RegardsM.Ransom(French client)
In the new appWhere are my playlists gone? There appears to be no option to recrate my playlists My music is stored on a NASCan’t play any music!
I’ve just upgraded to the new, May 2024 Sonos S2 app. It wants local network access (photo). It already has this.I’ve toggled Sonos’ local network access on and off in iPadOS settings. No luck. The app just keeps asking for access. I’m now unable to use my Sonos system from the device I use most.Does anybody else have this problem, and is there a solution other than to wait for Sonos to fix it?Peter
I’m really missing the now absent AutoPlay feature on Line-In ports as of the latest 80.00.08 (BOOOOB?) update. As I’m using a Sonos system (2xFive+1xSub gen 3) in my office as the main driver for my Desktop PC (Linux, premium sound card connected via jack to Sonos’ Line-In port) I find myself (annoyingly)often having to open the app on my phone in order to enable this Line-In port. This whole operation is really unnecessary since I’m quite confident the Line-In config option still exists on OS2 and porting/refactoring this feature wouldn’t take a huge effort since we’re just talking about a toggle that enables a config flag in the existing OS2 platform (just guessing here).I know for a fact that the current firmware on all my devices was OS2 while using the previous app, so obviously the API to do this is still available.Beautiful hardware that’s constantly apologizing for it’s PoS software.
Hello, I own 2 Era 300 and want to complete with the Move 2 - ca you built a multi room via WiFi with the 3 of them ?
Hello, there are so much dis-mal-functions with the new mobile app. It seems you have no date for publishing a fixed release. True ?Could you please put the S2 release into stores ?Thx
Want to queue albums or tracks, play next or add to end of queue or just play top tracks for an artist... JUST CANT DO ANY OF ITAlso with volume please bring back digits as well as slider, lots of us have a sweet spot depending on what we're doing while listening. Did none of this come up with beta testing. Major fail SonoS!
Used mainly for streaming iTunes library. At first not recognising the shared music file on my NAS. I then loaded the Sonos S2 App on my Mac Studio and was able to delete and re-enter the music directory on to my Sonos Port. Next, still on my Mac, my NAS password was not accepted so I deleted the password and re-entered it and this time was accepted. From my iPad, my NAS music folder was visibly present on my Port including album art. So S..L..O..W, but I was able to select a file to play, however, on every occasion I got a “something went wrong message”. This is where I am now, no music able to play yet. Fortunately, I have another brand of streamer which continues to access and play from the same music folder. If the Sonos app problems still persist in a month’s time I will ditch my Port. I feel sorry for those users who have invested intensively in Sonos products. My Port is connected by ethernet and I have also dis-connected my boost.
Is it possible to revert to the previous version of the app. I installed the new version about a week or ago and now my entire system is pretty much unusable. I can’t play anything from my music library which previously was fine and if I try to play a radio stream it plays in random rooms and I can not turn it off.
“The Sonos app is redesigned and better than ever. Get the latest update now.”Yes, that’s honestly the banner at the top of this page:Sonos liesHilarious Sonos - let me rewrite that banner for you:The Sonos app is redesigned and worse than ever. Get the latest update now if you want to lose a lot of functionality and really regret doing it.Looks like their headphones will be released this week and I won’t be throwing good money after bad - a boycott might remind them who pays their wages.
For those (geek, advanced android user) who want comfort and not wait for the return of this function, with Android only and luck, you can use the much missed Macronos application (His dev should have been hired by Sonos...).But you have to find the apk on an alternative store.Afterwards it's quite intuitive. And there are many other features, such as quickly launching a favorite on a speaker or a group of speakers.Macronos has still been working as well for years even though this App is no longer supported. Oh thank you very much!By the way, another feature that is really missing and which does not appear much as feedback is the control via the notification bar and the lock screen.Having to systematically open the app to adjust the volume or stop the music is simply a nightmare! It is urgent need to restore this control!
App randomly tells me no products are connected, makes it's own decisions when to increase or decrease volume, and at the moment tells me Abba is playing although I know 100% it's Black Sabbath! How can I go back to the previous version.?Not running a large or confusing system - 4x1's, 1x3, 1xconnect.
How frustrating. I spent all day trying to get Sonos to connect to my iTunes library (music folder). End result, I had to turn on file sharing, but my MAC would not allow me to do so. sTo get around that I opened terminal and did it manually via command line - sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.smbd.plistwhile you have terminal open type whoami to see the name you are logged in with and use that when prompted for user name and passwordso go back into system preferences-sharing and be sure file sharing is now turned on from manually turning on in terminal... be sure you click on the music folder and click options and make sure to check the box for “share files and folders using SMB now go back to Sonos app on your MAC and manage - Music Library Settings - and click the plus sign under the empty box to add location of your music. Choose the last option (network device or NAS drive). Here is where you need to put your \\computer name\location of your music and
Thanks for making the app such that I can’t even run it on my preferred old devices (and killing the old S2 app, which worked on everything in my house). Not everyone wants to buy a new phone every year. The last thing I expect is for my stereo system to essentially be useless because I can’t run the app anymore, especially from things like an old iPod touch (which I keep using for music). I expect these things to work for more than three years. Apparently, you don’t (at least on the software side).
I have an array of S1 compatable speakers and amps. I just purchased a Move speaker (not the Move2) as you can convert it to be compatable with ios S1 app. The problem is the option to downgrade within the app seems to be unavailable at the moment. How can i downgrade the move speaker?I have tried setting up the speaker in S2 thinking i might be able to downgrade it there and then delete the app and seach for the speaker but can’t find the function in the S2 app either.Any help of advice greatly apprciated.
Sonos, did you fire your UX Designer on your most recent update. It is a horrible. I’m not sure it even works. Still trying to get my system working. It’s difficult or impossible to play the same music on all speakers.
I was able to buy a couple of Sonos One and a soundbar why my company moved in a new location and was eager to make them play. I must add that I own a complete system at home and was very happy with it. The was is the key and everything said was before the f%”=)&?/(ç”(&g update the S2 App. I have applied a factory reset to the units and tried to build a new system. Then it quickly turned to a real nightmare.First of all, the Sonos App wants to know your exact location. Except of trying to get a maximum of data about you, I don’t see the point. Then the App was able to find the first Sonos One and tried to connect it to a WiFi network. So far so good but the WiFi network selected was not the one my smartphone was connected to.After many other iterations, I believe (absolutely not sure) my smartphone and the Sonos One were on the same WiFi network. Then came the update of the Sonos One since it was disconnected for about a year. The update was, guess what, unsuccessful …You can tr
My system has worked fine since the upgrade but this morning I’m unable to connect via the App or manually.I deleted the App and reinstalled but still doesn’t connect, no support available till Monday.
I have some audio tracks that I made for a project I’m working on and I want to hear them on my Sonos system. I know that the tracks are fine because I can put them in “Local Files” on Spotify on my iPhone and then play them in my car. But no matter how I export the audio files, the Spotify speaker icon shows my Sonos speakers grayed out with the message “Can’t play this track”. It would be extremely helpful if it actually explained *why* it can’t play the track, but it doesn’t do that. So, what does this message mean and how can I bounce my tracks from Logic Pro so that they will play on my Sonos system? Thanks!Best,Jon
