Hi there I have a smart TV connected to a set of Sonos Play1's & 3 via a Connect (and the sound experience is really great). But my experience could get another boost if it would be possible to use my TV remote control to control the volume settings instead of using the Sonos App. The same install settings as the Playbar... Is this possible or will this be made possible by Sonos? From my point of view this really would enhance the possible use cases of the Sonos products... And no, a Playbar is not an option for me :) Looking

So what gives? Why can't I add my iTunes library to the Sonos Controller 6.4. The menu "Manage" is all greyed out. Is this yet another limitation to this Play One speaker I have? I currently cannot update the system due to some older software I still must run. Is there anyway around this limitation? Both Sharing and Firewall settings are set as recommended by Sonos. I have just tried to leave the beta program as I would prefer to use all the controller functions on my iPhone and iPad including EQ settings, Trueplay setup and other points. However, it did not work and I received a message saying Error code 9: and then all the room names.

The title says it all! ASAP. Everyone I know is using Alexa (Amazon Echo or a device that uses that). QVC just sold 108,000 units of the Amazon Echo. But no Sonos integration or even an IFTTT to use my speakers with Alexa. Please.

Everyone who uses an alarm, would rather like to be waked up by a progressive increasing (and decreasing) volume and not directly to the settled volume level. Shouldn't be that a normal setting nowadays? If every one agrees, please add that feature asap.

When I use Pandora (not Pandora One) I can select Shuffle Play and choose which of the many stations on my list I want to be included in that Shuffle. How is this feature enabled when using Pandora on Sonos. Does the Quickmix allow you to select a limited number of stations or does it just toggle between all of your stations.

Since sonos has access to microphone on ios devices. It would be a great idea to add a feature where i can record a message on the app and send it to a dedicated room. Sometimes when im in the kitchen cooking and i want to let my kids to come and eat, I would like to announce it through the play 1 that is in their the room rather than shout it out. :8

Ever since upgrading to the new controller, my iMac no longer stays awake while using my Sonos. I have my music library stored on my iMac and have it set to sleep after only a few minutes. In all previous versions on the controller, as long as I had music playing in Sonos, my iMac would stay awake so the the connection could stay alive and the music would keep playing song after song until i paused it or the end of the queue was reached, at which point the iMac would sleep after a few minutes of inactivity per the energy saver settings. However, since upgrading to the newest controller (5.4), this is no longer the case. It now sleeps even if music is playing if i am not also using the iMac for computing. As a result, Sonos loses the connection to my music library and is unable to play the next track in my queue. Is there a fix for this issue? I know I can set my energy settings so my iMac never sleeps, thus fixing the connection loss issue. However, I do not want to do this because I

A Sonos user would like the ability to add multiple individual tracks to a playlist.

I recently gifted a Play 1 to a friend. She told me that she was not very computer confident,so I installed in for her. She has a new iPhone, but her laptop is old (7 years). I attempted to install the Sonos controller on the laptop (windows XP) I downloaded and installed the Sonos app and attempted to hook up the play 1 speaker. However, the program didn’t “see” the speaker when I hit the stop & + button. I tried several times to no avail. I then tried to install the Sonos app on the iPhone, that took a while but was eventually successful. The app functioned fine. I wanted to give Sonos access to her music library, but her music was only on her laptop. After her iPhone installation, I again tried to install Sonos on her laptop. This time the laptop “found” the speaker immediately. But the music library settings was ‘grayed out’ and I am unable to get access to her music library. Hi, I am a new customer / Sonos 5 owner... I do not know why you make it so complicated to hook up a direct line into the speaker. Or to use apple play or any other direct app to device functions. The SONOS app sucks. I just want to use the Spotify App, and be able to control the volume of the speakers from my keyboard. Seriously SONOS, the speakers sound great but this whole app thing is totally not necessary or what customers want. Super frustrating experience.

If I make a radio station or playlist a Favourite it stops being available in the alarm choice, what is the way around this?

I updated my Sonos system this morning and now the manage options are greyed out-cannot manage system or library now. I use an Apple computer.

I just purchased the Play:1 to listen to music without turning my TV on. I use a Mac mini as an HTPC for all my media I was hoping this device would be able to use my iTunes library from my iPhone however I soon realized that the music needs to be stored on the iPhone. What good is this if my only choices are to cherry pick songs to store on my Phone for playback or running the risk of using all my phones space to store over 50,000 songs just to use this device. I hope I'm missing something and the community is able to help because at this point the speaker is useless. Sorry if I'm coming off vexed I'm just irritated. I was hoping after hardwiring (ethernet) the speaker I assumed I was able to play from my iTunes iOS app or at best be able to play ALL my music from iTunes without using every bit of space on my phone. The speaker is beautiful and is well made. I want to like it but maybe Bluetooth is the better option. Thank you for help in advance.

On MAC desktop, playing music from Pandora or Amazon (haven't tried other sources) when new tune starts playing a popup with artist and tune name info appears on top of whatever else am working on. It is distracting and often annoying when am doing work. Is there a way to disable or stop this from happening? If not, hope Sonos will consider building-in that option. thanks-

I have been using my three Sonos Play:1s quite happily now for well over a year, but now I have bought a new Play:1 and when trying to add it, I'm told "Your Sonos controller must be updated before you can add and set up Sonos products". I recall getting an email saying that the latest version of the Sonos Controller would not be compatible with Windows XP, which I'm still using on the machine where the Sonos controller is used. Does this mean that I will be forced to update to a version of the controller that is not compatible with my OS, thus rendering my entire system unusable? Before anyone says it, I am not interested in updating to a newer version of Windows at the moment. It's an enormous amount of work and there is no compelling reason for it. The OS is just background infrastructure in my view, not a toy. It should be meddled with as little as possible.

Hello, Is there a way to automatically clear the queue when you start to play a new song or a new album? I don't always want Sonos to continue playing when my new selected songs or album is finished playing. I thin it would be a great feature.

Hi there, Apologies if this has been covered but I haven't been able to find anything relating to it. I've downloaded the beta that supposedly allows me to access my PLAY 1 directly through my SPOTIFY app on my phone rather than the limited SONOS app. However this option doesn't show when I go to select devices? Is the capability available through iphone or is it limited to certain phone/tablet types? Cheers

Regarding the new beta release which integrates with Spotify Connect... Controlling playback from within Spotify I find it quite long-winded to change the individual volumes of the grouped rooms. To do that I currently need to: (1) From Spotify, click on Devices (2) Click on the room Group "hamburger ..." menu (3) Click on 'Sonos Group Rooms' (which launched Sonos) (4) Click on the icon of the song playing (5) Finally the song menu appears with the combined volume slider (6) Click on slider to get the separate room sliders (7) Change the volume of the required room Am I missing the easier way? Anyway, I'm aware one is limited when developing code from within another's application, so I understand the situation. My suggestion is to at least add the following to speed up the volume setting process ... When clicking on the (see step 3 above), display one more option over and above "Sonos Group Rooms", also display an option called "Set separate room volumes". Thi

My Daughter changed our Deezer Password; when I opened Sonos it wouldn't recognise the Deezer Account, so I decided to uninstall and reinstall Deezer. I couldn't as all of the items under the manage settings bar were greyed out. I read that the best thing to do is to look for and install updates, which I did. However the Manage settings are still greyed out. I am now stuck. Can anyone help me please?

Hi. I have 3 Sonos Play:1 speakers, each located in different rooms around the house. I like to run my system with a 3 speakers/rooms grouped together in Party Mode. This works fine most of the time, but whenever i have a network problem with my Virgin Media UK Superhub Router, the Sonos system fails to start when the Play button is pushed on any of the speakers - i get the dreaded red LED light flashing. It is easy to fix this by going to any of the controller Apps that i have (IOS, Android & Winsows PC) and 're-grouping' the rooms/speakers, then selecting the chosen media to play again (usually a Tune-In radio station). So, my question is, why does the Sonos system 'ungroup' my rooms/speakers whenever my incoming broadband fails or the router is rebooted? I can recreate the problem every time. Thanks for any assistance.

Are there users of SONOS with LINUX (Debian , Ubunto , Mint or others) ? Is it possible to use LINUX with SONOS?
