Controllers and Music services

Can anyone please help - my SONOS system has been working fine for several years, but tonight I couldn't connect to my SONOS system from my PC. It just comes up "No existing SONOS system could be found" The boost is hard wired into my router, but it doesn't register as a device on my PC, however the PC can see all the wireless speakers. I've reloaded the software, re-powered everything etc etc... any sugestions as to what to do next? However I can connect to my SONOS system from the App on my android phone and can stream music from the net and play music files from my music library on my PC, but not from the SONOS desktop app on the PC

Hi, I want to delete On the iPhone Playlists that I have created and no longer want, and cannot find out how to do it. On the iPhone Sonos controller the top level menu lists; Sonos Favorites, Sonos Playlists, On this iPhone, Radio by Tunein, etc. Clicking the "On this iPhone" item gets you to a next level menu; "Playlists, Artists, Albums, etc. So there are two playlists; the Sonos Playlists and the On the iPhone Playlists. I can delete entries in the Sonos Playlists but not in the On the iPhone Playlists. Deleting Sonos Playlists entries involves clicking the ... item at the top right of the screen listing the playlists which gives you the option to Edit Playlist. You select this and can then select a playlist to delete. Trying to delete entries in the On the iPhone Playlists seems impossible to do. When you select the On the iPhone Playlists option you get a list of playlist entries under a Playlists heading but there is no ... selection item at the top right.

I'm trying to set an alarm that uses music from my Music Library. The shortest time I can set in the alarm setup is 15 minutes, but the music I have selected is less than 2 minutes. When the music ends, the Sonos Chime plays. How can I avoid having the Sonos Chime play?

Anyone know if it's possible to stop people chasing the order of songs in the queue or to only allow them to add songs to the end of the queue and not use the play now option. At a recent party I gave a few people access to my music library sp they could browse through and pick some stuff to play but it just ended up being a war with people adding songs to play now instead of the end of the queue, then someone else would do a play now and so on and so on, hardly got to the end of any songs and it created a bit of tension. Some people might ask why I gave anyone access. They're my friends and I can't force them to listen to what I want all the time. It would be great if there was a party mode of sorts where people could access Sonos and add songs to the queue but only to the end of the queue. They then get to pick some music they like but don't cut off music that other people like.

Periodically, my Sonos systems gets into a state where the volume reverts to zero (mute) whenever I try to turn it up. I think this is mostly when I am using Spotify Direct, but I am not sure about that. It has happened multiple times and I have friends with the same periodic problem. Same problem on my iPhone interface. The problem was resolved by resetting the controller from my Mac.

I have an album where the embedded cover art is 1500x1500 and it is shown. However I found it often loaded really slow and sometimes not at all. However I found that reducing the filesize rather than pixelsize was more effective in making Sonos Controller read it faster. So which are the size and pixel limits nowdays? Also, is there a recommended filesize and/or pixelsize where the compromise between resolution and loading times are optimal? Or some kind of table showing the relation between loading times and filesize/pixelsize? I'd like to keep resolution high but if there's a size threshold somewhere when loading times are significantly slower I'd like to go below that limit. Also,

Library indexing is MUCH faster when performed on a wired (as opposed to wireless) Sonos component. But how can I convince/force Sonos Controller for Windows to use the wired component as its "Associated ZP"?

For a long time now I've enjoyed a Sonos setup with a bridge, a play3 and a play5.  This has always worked fine, but suddenly my controllers can't find any components other than the bridge, and when trying to re-add any of them (pressing mute+vol up) the indicator light flashes orange.  When re-adding the controllers (I've tried a PC, iPad and iPhone) detect that I've pressed mute+vol up (they change to the 'connecting...' screen) but always fail to connect and show the 'Your Sonos component was not found' message. My wireless network is working ok, and I can see that the Sonos equipment is set to a relatively empty wireless channel (1), my own wifi network is set to a different channel (11). On occasion the Play5 has been able to connect, but drops off within 20 minutes or so.  Any help or advice you might have would be greatly appreciated! Tom

How about showing the lyrics of a song while in the sonos app on your smart phone of tablet. My son likes a bunch of the music we have on our network and it would be great to use this awesome set up as a way to learn the song while listening to it... Matthew E

As a full time wheelchair user I like to have all my connected devices all connected in one place, will I be able to add my sonos music system to Apple Homekit? As more and more people are joining the home automation system I'm hoping sonos will add there support to Homekit.

SKINS I think it is necessary to introduce the possibility to change (or best: customize!) the SONOS controller for WINDOWS with coloured and clear SKINS. Actually it is very poor. AUDIO Depending when or "where" I play music, every time I have to do a new setting for volume, for every SONOS speaker (i have 4 Play:1, 1 Play:3, 1 Play:5, 1 Playbar + SUB). I have had all kinds of issues with my Sonos. First, it wouldn't find my iTunes music library. Then, not sure how, started finding it. Maybe it was when I shortened my computer name? It worked for a day or so.. Then it started not connecting to my macbook.. I submitted a question, Sonos said try to restart the Wifi. I did that and restarted the Mac and that worked for a day, day and a half. Now it's back to "can't connect to Robs-Macbook pro/music. " Once in a while I get a "1002" message but not consistently. I restarted the WiFi and my computer again and that fixed NOTHING this time.. I have done the Firewall procedures. The controller will let me add music into the que but will not allow me to play it. That's when I get the "cannot connect.." error message after a short time of (not sure what the technical name for it is..not pinwheel but..) the little thing that spins, looks spikey, basically saying it's thinking.. get one of those those on top right of controller as well as somet

Hi There, Newbie Alert !! I have an Amazon Echo and a Synology NAS running PLEX which stores all my media, I am able to control PLEX from the Echo. My question is will PLEX be able to play direct to the Sonos with out having to have Laptops or tablets open and running ? Thanks in advance

I deleted my Spotify account from the Sonos app in order to add a new Spotify account (I couldn't find an easy way to change the account). But now Spotify doesn't appear as a choice under "Add Music Service". I can't find Spotify under any of my controllers, PC, other phones, etc. System Diagnostics number 7369575.

I was instructed to update my Sonos desktop controller software on my laptop running Windows XP. However, following the download I was told that my OS did not support the Sonos desktop. Is it correct that XP is not supported? Thanks. Andy

Hi all, I know from @Chris that you can lock an iOS device to just one app but would like to do this on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite. If you can how do you do it and if not can I make a android widget that just displays the sonos app. I got the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite to solely use as a family controller.

Sonos app does not recognise podcasts downloaded on my android phone (kitkat), I've tried downloading both recommended apps Beyondpod and Pocketcasts neither work! I've also tried moving files to podcasts folder in the root . What happening sonos? This worked perfectly on my previous iphone

I have my music in ITunes on a Mac Mini. This used to work ok until 12 months ago when Sonos coul not find the music library. I have tried adding the music folder again but get the same message "Unable to add the shared folder to your Music Library (900). I am able to play online radio overmy Sonos system and play music from other devices eg from a smartphone with Sonos controller installed. I have checked my Ststem Preference > File Sharing and added the Music folder and Itunes Music folder to Shared Folders but this has not resolved the issue. Any suggestions welcome?
