Controllers and Music services

I would love to have a widget in the lock screen so I can change the volume and skip tracks when my phone is locked! I used to use a competitor system before I got Sonos which had this and it was so useful!! It seems really long winded and not easy to change tracks or adjust the volume when my phone is locked! I have to unlock it then open up the Sonos app again which is a real pain, it should be so easy. Sonos is all about simplicity so I don't understand why no one at Sonos has come up with a solution!

Allow iOS to add Sonos transport controls to the Notifications swipe down/widget area.

I have been wondering if Sonos will be compatible with Google Home as a voice activated controller. Some people talk about it, saying that it works with Amazon Echo, Tap, and Dot, but those run through SmartThings. Has anyone heard anything about Google Home starting to work with Sonos? That would be SO awesome.

How can I delete a "music source" that is listed as a choice that I no longer use/need? I wish to delete 'SiriusXM' as a music source listed

I can't seem to add Pandora. I'm using Controller for PC with Connect:AMP. I was able to add my songza and google music accounts. When I tried to add my Pandora account, it says "connecting" for a while, and then gives a "Account not found" error. I know the account exists because I can login with the same credentials on Pandora.com. I then tried to create a brand new account. That too gave the same error. Version: 5.2 (build 28183040) Hardware Version: 1.16.3.1-1

Play music from the app on your PC/MAC etc. locally.

After my Mac sleeps I lose connection to my music library and have to "Update Music Library" and it is fine. Network is wired from the Mac to the NAS drive where the library is stored.

I am not able to play same music in multiple rooms. I am not getting option to select rooms in the app. Tick boxes and select all buttons for rooms are missing. App version is latest i.e.7.3.

I'd like to remove things from my Favorites. I cannot find the option in the app.

Oh, rats. I just bought three controllers as a test run -- hoping to get two more -- but they'll all have to be returned if there's no way to turn on or off any controls at all. For example, now that I've installed the Sonos controller, the app offers direct radio access with no limitations or filters at all -- which means I can't possibly allow my young kids to use the app to control their own music to their own bedroom, because when handing them access to all our family's music library on my computer, I'm handed them at the same time a controller for all the radio stations. Please tell me I've missed something here. This makes no sense at all. Even iTunes lets you hide or limit features. I let my kids listen to my iTunes library... but to stream that same library to a Sonos speaker becomes a visit to the adult book shop. Please, please tell me there's a solution. Otherwise... back to the drawing board.

Spotify: I like to play my newest added songs easy from the top of a playlist. Sonos always show the playlist the opposite way. The latest added in the bottom. Today I have to start to play from my Spotify-app from my phone to get it done the right way... 😞

It has probably been asked a thousand times but when is the integration with the Amazon Echo going to show up? I am sure I read that it was going to be Q1 2017 (may be mistaken) but not heard or read anything for a long time. Whats the story? Many thanks

Here are some ideas and suggestions for future developments, does anyone know if these are available now or in a pipeline for future development: 1) linking devices: Can a small device be built to attach a single device like a TV, radio, ipad, tablet or PC and will allow the device and sonos speaker to connect and play? 2) Quick actions device: Can a small device be developed to allow for quick actions such as volume & grouping and changing sound output without having to open a phone/pad app? 3) Portable speakers: Can the sonos 1 be made portable? 4) Speakers voice control: Can the sonos speakers be made voice controllled? 5) Group speakers: Can different speakers be grouped as one in a room such as a play 1 & play 3 or 5, currently i have a play 1 & 3 in one room but these cant be linked to show as one speaker in the same room, i have them as kitchen & kitchen 2 and have to keep grouping them manually. Using Windows Media Player. Want to 'cast' music to a Sonos speaker from my laptop. How do I change speaker IP number to a more useful name?

On my iPhone 6, the Sonos app shows a list of the alphabet letters down the right-hand side of the screen when I display the "songs" listing. If I slide my finger up & down the alphabet, a larger version of each letter appears near the lower centre of the main screen. I'd expect the main list to jump to that letter when I lift off my finger but nothing seems to happen at all. I would also expect that if I tapped on a single letter that the main list would jump to that letter, but again nothing happens (other than that the adjacent song sometimes gets sleeted because of fat finger syndrome). I'm attaching a screenshot here. My songs are on a NAS drive (a Brennan B2) and I haven't yet grouped them into artists, albums etc as that info apparently doesn't get transferred from the B2. I have no trouble using this sort of alphabetic slider in (f'rinstance) the Contacts app on the iPhone but cannot see how it's supposed to work in the Sonos app.

Does anyone know when the Alexa app is going to launch..?

I'm planning to create a VPN between my holiday home in USA and my main home in UK. Its really so I can access BBC iplayer and use Wi-Fi calling on my mobile phone. Then I got to thinking what other possibilities this might open up. If I get a Sonos box or two in USA will I be able to access my music library on my NAS and have access to all my music services on my UK setup? If its possible is there any way this needs to be configured?

I used to be able to access my music (all in iTunes) with my Sonos controller; however, it has abruptly stopped working.  When I try to add the folder to my Music Library, I get the error message: "Unable to add the shared folder "\\AMY-PC\Music" to your Music Library (1002)."  I've seen that this is a common error and believe I have followed the steps otherwise laid out (e.g., Kaspersky firewall access).  I'm still receiving the error.  Any ideas?

Has any progress been made at all with allowing Mac users to use their Sonos speakers as wireless output speakers for their computer? If not, when can we expect this incredibly useful function?

Hello, I was wondering if anybody has used any volume control on individual ceiling speakers ran off Sonos Connect Amp? I currently have 2 pairs of ceiling speakers (Polk Audio RC80i) connected on either side of the amp and i would like to put a volume control inbetween to control each speaker individually? Is this possible? I am looking at the Russound ALT-126R Impedence matching volume control. Please see image for a description of what my setup looks like. I have wired my speakers in 16 Gauge speaker wire. I ask for any help i can get!! Thank you for your time. Shaun

I have my music library on one computer that I would like to continue to use for that purpose while using controllers on my laptop and android phone. Ideally, I would like that computer to go to sleep when not used but be woken up when I start my playlist. Right now the music computer is using the wireless network. I have set "Wake on LAN" on the music computer's BIOS but have two problems. First, the machine doesn't seem to go to sleep on the timer when the music is paused - the screen shuts off but the disk keeps doing something. I can make it sleep from the power button. Is the Sonos continuing to do something to keep the network connection open or might it be something else? When I do put the computer to sleep, I can't wake it through my Sonos controller. Any ideas if it is possible to make this work? Thanks.

I am unable to open the Sonos windows app on my desktop (w10) it just hangs on the intro screen. Can anyone help? (i have uninstalled & reinstalled it to no avail!

ok... so i got gideon and yonomi... how do i control playbase to play/pause select genre etc with siri ??? can i sync it with nano leaf aurora? or philips hue? why $700 player doesn't connect/able to be controlled via voice apps.

When trying to add  Music to SONOS, I get the error "The Computer 'Pete-iMac' refused to let Sonos connect to it". I am using the following location when I get this error: /Users/peterellison/Music/iTunes However, when I specify the default location of /Users/peterellison/Music, it works fine. I need to specifically choose the iTunes folder and not the whole Music folder, since I have music production files in my Music folder, and I don't want 50,000 WAV samples being added to SONOS. Also to note, I've tried it with my Firewall off, and I have set up my Sharing setting correctly. In addition, my iMac is new. Previously I was running SONOS on Snow Leopard OSX without any issues. Now I'm on Yosemite OSX
