Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

I copied my iTunes library to my NAS (iomega StorCenter ix2) and then added that NAS folder to my Sonos Music Library. I can play all the music files from that library via all the options (Artists, Albums, Composers, etc) except the Imported Playlists. When I select any song via the Imported Playlists, Sonos gives an error message: "Unable to play {song name} - the file \\.... cannot be found. It looks like Sonos cannot translate the pathname of the files from the iTunes library play lists to the "new" location on the NAS... or maybe I did not set up the NAS folder properly... Here is the complete error message: Unable to play '01 Paper in My Shoe.m4a' - the file \\HOMENAS\Homedata\Users\XXusernameXX\Muisc\iTunes\iTunes Music\Zydeco Dependents\Zydeco Dependents\01 Paper in My Shoe.m4a cannot be found This is the path to the iTunes library on my NAS: \\HOMENAS\HomeData\Deja Vu Backups\iTunes
Hi y'all... I have eight ceiling-mounted speakers in different rooms, two in each room. I want to add them to Sonos. If I use multiple Connect:Amps, can I pair the Connect:Amps? Thanks!
Is it possible to have two (or more) Sonos accounts within you own (1) network controlling one(or more) device. This idea in order to create separation between users, freeing up the favorites list to the individualized user (5 members of family all with different musical preferences) This way each could have their own personal speakers (in bed room for example) which would only be accessible from they're own acct, but then shared spaces (living room, kitchen) where each account could access the speaker system from their own account therefore allowing access to their own favorites list. All this with out creating a third account which would be a "family" account.
I have kids who listen to their sonos music too late. Can we have an "alarm" function that stops music playing at a set time?
I bought the coolest refrigerator with what Inwas told was an android tablet in the door. I quickly found out that it is not an android OS, but a limited/proprietary OS made by Samsung. It has TuneIn, Spotify, and other apps. Sonos should absolutely get the Sonos player in that app list! Someone who owns that refrigerator would likely be a sophisticated consumer and have Sonos products! And Sonos already has a relationship/partnership with samsung. Make it happen quickly please!
How do I play audio (e.g. soundtracks for movies and TV in iTunes) or stream internet content (e.g. netflx or iPlayer) from my iMac through my Sonos system? I've tried a phono lead out from the headphone socket on the Mac into a Sonos bridge "line in", but the sound was poor and very quiet. My music library is on my iMac, and that works fine.
I can make the update, ask me for an update I do and looks like all ready did but it keep as me for the update.
I know this is a low priority and small request, but I think it affects me a lot as a new Sonos owner. The App Icon for the Mac Desktop Controller looks super dated. Is there anyway to create an icon that is similar to the icon on iOS and consistently with the rest of your branding? Or at least the bold-colored flat UI Apple branding that has taken shape in the last couple version of Mac OS? It's important to me because I use the Mac Desktop controller more than I expected I would and it just looks so unsightly next to all my cleanly designed icons.
Latest update to controller software background "WHITE" is terrible and there needs to be a customization option to darken it. I do not WANT a flashlight when using the controller.
Looking for steps to control different rooms in your Sonos app? Here's an easy demonstration of how to change which room you're controlling. The red text of the room name pulls up a quick grouping menu that you can use to add other players to the group you're controlling. You can use that to sync rooms to play the same thing. It can also be used to move music playing in one room to another room. If this isn't working right, you may have some network latency causing trouble, the process to move music in this way takes a lot of steps behind the scenes and could fail if something goes wrong. If you need a hand, feel free to send us a message.
I hate to use the phrase "Airplay" but in a sense, that's what I'd like to do: Take the audio from a web site, such as http://coffitivity.com, and project it to the Sonos speakers in my office/family room.
It appears as if my entire iTunes library is not being indexed by Sonos. I checked the details of the songs some are in an m4p format. Others appear to be just regular mp3. My library is approximately 66 GB. How can I make sure it all syncs properly with Sonos?
I have 2 phones in my hands, both connect to my home wi-if. My iPhone connects to Sonos just fine. My Samsung will not, no matter what I try. Any suggestions?
how do o delete stations on sonos I have choosen once I don't want them
Okay, I must have been blind, not having found this earlier. There are all kinds of crazy and futile efforts gojng on, like Android controllers under Arc Welder, and Windows controllers under Wine and PlayOnUnux, just anythjng to get a glimpse of a Sonos controller for Linux. But the real thing is here. It really is. Maybe even it was here all along. Look no further: http://pascalopitz.github.io/unoffical-sonos-controller-for-linux/ Still in alfa stage, but it really works well for me. lt recognizes my system and its groups. It handles radio, my music library, and even my subsonic server. lt manages the cueue. It can add new music services... THIS IS PLATINUM ! Grab the .deb paçkage from GitHub, double click it, and Bob's your Uncle !
Greetings, After the most recent update of the sonos app on my Android, my on this device playlists are missing. The artists and songs are there and play fine. The app for some reason can't see the playlists. I've tried un/reinstall the app but no go. Other apps (DoubleTwist) can see the playlists fine. Note that this worked fine before the update. Thanks, Brian
Sonoair is really useful, given the lack of Airplay (for now). However, if your house needs a Boost, then Sonoair doesn't function and doesn't pick up any speakers. Anyone aware of a workaround?
This may be totally ridiculous, but wouldn't it be great to use something like Cortana to help control SONOS? It's available for all the mobile OSs (including Windows 10 mobile by the way - which we know you love so much SONOS ;P) It will be available on xbox one and the band 2 - not to mention the Apple watch. End result being something like "Hey Cortana, play Bob Dylan" random Bob Dylan comes on... Nice. Don't really care if it's Siri, Cortana or Ok Google. Maybe a bit of IFTTT would be nice as well
I have a very simple set up: A Sonos One at the front of my house (labelled Foyer), and the Play 5 in the middle of the same room (labelled Living Room). Clearly they are not in stereo, but fill the room between them. When I take a phone call and reach over and tapp down the volume one of them (say the One because it is usually nearest), the volume goes down but the Play 5 is still booming. Alexa only controls the One, and the physical volume controls only control the One. Getting my phone out is so impractical, so how do I link these devices so when I change the volume on one it does it on both? Or can I not? Thanks!
Is there an easy way to delete songs from the queue. Currently I press Edit, then press red circle (like the UK No Entry sign) next to the song to remove, then I have to press the 'Delete' red square that appears on the other side of the song name. This is fine if doing one or two tracks but if I want to delete a bunch it gets tiresome. Is there a way to mark a group of songs for removal I have missed?
I have subscribed the Google Play Music All Access. The Radio recommendation is great - and the reason for my choice of Google - yet I am generally dissapointed by the fact that features available on the web interface are not available on the Sonos controller. The Sonos controller (for Google Play) is a very poor transposing of the features available on the web interface. Here are some examples : > auto playlists (Thumbs up) not available on Sonos. > no possibility of seeing the upcoming tracks of a 'radio', very very frustrating. > access to the button for creation of a 'radio' is hidden behind the 'info & options' button. Hopefully Sonos and Google can work together to enrich the user experience. I feel leftover over with a sub standard service/product using the Sonos controller. I am so frustrated I am contemplating alternatives.
What was Sonos thinking with this new app? It is literally impossible to figure out the most basic commands. For instance, let's just take a very simple task: selecting a room and playing a specific Pandora station I want to listen to. How do you even do that? If you select the room, there is no menu to go select the station! If you select the station, you can't logically pick which room to play it in. Instead of rambling on, I'll just add to all of the thousands of posts and ask Sonos to please either go back to the old app, or develop something that is actually intuitive. If Apple can make everything intuitive since the creation of the iPod, I think Sonos can figure this out to some degree. That was one of the biggest selling points of installing my entire house with Sonos...because it was so intuitive and compatible with the Apple interface.
As the title asked, does Sonos adjust for more than frequency? For example, does it adjust for phase between speakers which may be different distance from the listening area? Does it adjust for phase between subwoofer and speakers so that manual phase adjustment is not necessary? If yes, it is more powerful than I anticipated. Curious. Thanks.
I've looked around and found a few posts on this, but nothing seems to work. I want to speak into my android phone and hear my voice in real time through the sonos:1 speakers I just bought. Sonofy, Intercom, Sonos, and a host of other apps I've tried don't seem to do this. Is this at all possible? Am I going to have to ship these things back?
Hi Folks. I'm new to the forums. I have an LG TV which runs webos. Does Sonos have plans to have a webos app in the future? That would be great because I could then control my system via the TV. 🙂
