Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

I have a Moto 360 with Android Wear and every time I use the Sonos App in my phone the notification in the phone keeps persistent. Even if I quit the app in the, the notification remains. I can't kill the notification swapping to right. I can only hide it for a few minutes swapping down. I'ts really annoying.
Hi - potentially a stupid question, but after the new update to iOS 11 and associated Sonos Controller update on iPhone, I can't figure out how to switch the room I am controlling sound for. As an example - my controller now can control "Living Room". No problem. But if I go upstairs and want to control "Bedroom", I can't switch control away from "Living Room" to "Bedroom". In the old app it was easy, but I can't figure out how make the switch in the new app. Tapping on the bottom middle room icon merely brings up a list of my Sonos locations and the option/ability to group/ungroup speakers, which doesn't solve my problem. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Hi, Maybe I’m missing something... But why can’t we seek (scrub) through tracks when using the Google Play Music service? Also, I can’t play the previous song either? Really annoying. I’m using the Sonos app on iOS
I'm a longtime Android phone user and switched back to iPhone recently for work. The first thing I noticed is that when I open my Google Play Music app, the 'cast' icon is gone and I can't connect to my Sonos speakers directly from the Google Play Music app. This was one of my absolute favourite features, because I find the Sonos app to be very difficult to navigate when linked up to third-party services. For instance, none of my album art loads (which makes navigating much more difficult) and all of my artists are split up a million ways (especially my hip-hop music... ASAP Rocky is now forty different listings like ASAP Rocky feat. so-and-so). Are there any plans to bring this direct-casting ability to other services outside Google Play Music on Android? I'd even be willing to switch music services if it means I can avoid the Sonos app altogether.
I have a macbook (Sierra) and a touchbar. Could you change the Sonos application to support this touchbar?
Hi! Does anybody knows if it's possible to control Sonos from the Deezer app?
I haven't any evidence that the SONOS team take any notice of what is written here. ,
Where are the release notes for app version 8.2.1?
The app I have downloaded on my android tablet differs from that downloaded on my android smartphone. There is limited functionality on the tablet, and it won't let me update it. I have deleted it and reinstalled from Google play, but still no luck. For instance, when I go into help and tips, custom tune a speaker then 'lets try it' it says: "sorry, this feature is unavailable right now". According to the tablet the version running is 8.1.1. The phone is running version 8.2.1
Ios update required, click yes to open app store, on sonos app it says open, click on this and it just loops you back to the sonos screen without starting update.
Hi I created a queue using the music stored on my iPhone, clicked save and gave it a new name. Now where do I find it to play it again? Logical place was playlists on this phone but it’s not there. Help!
Just read the announcement of the new Google Cast for Audio (http://chrome.blogspot.com/2015/01/introducing-google-cast-for-audio.html). I don't see Sonos listed as an early supporter, though. Any chance something is in the works?
An often requested feature, on the community forums and the beta forums, has been progressive (gradual) volume configuration for alarms. There are tens of threads that have been posted in the past, each with more than a few users voting or commenting; it seems likely that if the interest were aggregated there would be a clear majority of community users that want this feature to be configurable. This thread alone is five years old: https://en.community.sonos.com/controllers-software-228995/please-add-an-option-to-adjust-the-fade-in-and-fade-out-time-for-alarms-and-sleep-4441758/index1.html#post15977567 and there are others. The definition of this feature is to take a start volume, an end volume, and a ramp time and progressively increase the volume over the ramp time from start to end volume. In releases prior to 8.1, the ramp time was locked at a small number of seconds. In Sonos's competitor's products, ramp time is very flexible - in fact this was a feature in the Squeezebox
Controller for Sonos on my iMac has just suddenly stopped working. It won't connect to my Sonos system. I have reset the controller, deleted the controller and reinstalled, reset my router and checked the firewall settings based on Sonos recommendations and yet it still will not connect to my Sonos system. I just get the message as seen in the attachment. When I deleted the controller and reinstalled, I set it up to connect to my existing system, however, it couldn't find it. So I did what it said and pressed the two buttons on top of my nearest Play5 and it came up with a tick that it was now connected, but then when I pressed OK, it just went back to the same screen as per the attachment. It will not connect. Any thoughts? FWIW, the iPhone app controller is working just fine. I am using OS X EI Capitan Version 10.11.6 and I believe my Sonos system is on the latest software as well.
It appears you can only use the master account on a Deezer family package so you can't switch between profiles to listen to another persons music/playlists. Anyone know a way around this or know if any plans are in place to change it?
I have various alarms setup in the house for different speakers and although I know you can set the duration to no limit, once the playlist reaches the end, the music just stops. Is there anyway to configure the alarms so that the playlist runs on repeat? I have had to set up eight different alarms for the one speaker, so that music constantly plays, otherwise the music would stop once the playlist ends.
Is there an ETA on when trueplay will be supported on iPhone 8 devices? I just installed a new sonos system, and I only have an iPhone 8x to use the trueplay function.
I often play music (Amazon Music as source) on all my downstairs Sonos (grouped). I also have a few notification commands coming from SmartThings and/or Webcore, to some individual Sonos speakers for certain activities. Examples: - If the refrigerator is left open > 2 minutes, the Kitchen Sonos should announce "Attention, the fridge has been left open". - When front door opens, after a certain hour, my bedroom Sonos announces "The front door has been opened". The problem: Even though I'm specifying the specific Sonos speaker to make the announcements, it always seems to come out from the GROUP that I had previously played music from. Any suggestions? I checked, but I don't see any 'ungroup' options in SmartThings or Webcore. By the way, same thing with Echo.... If I say "Alexa, play jazz on living room Sonos", but previously the LR Sonos was part of a group, the jazz will play on the whole group rather than just the living room.
Hi, Team Sonos. I remain one of your biggest fans. The SONOS system is one of the best investments I ever made. Thanks! Here's a suggestion for future development: in the player, when choosing "Play All" for a selected musician, SONOS organizes all songs alphabetically. Another nice alternative option would be to allow sorting by album / track order.
yea, no joke. why on earth sooo many software sonos updates, i mean not even IOS requires that many. to be honest i would fire the lot and start from scratch.
Seriously its about time we got one. Hey you can even use Xamarin if you want one codebase for iOS, Android and Windows, UWP (windows 10 and Xbox).... A Cortana skill would also be nice and usable from these devices as well. Some love for the Microsoft user community would be appreciated
These are two quite common problems I have with my Sonos system. 1. I've noticed that quite often when a new unit joins the network (someone coming home with their iPhone, waking a sleeping computer e.t.c.) Sonos will mute and often skip to the next song. I'm quite sure this has to do with DHCP-intervals. So for some reason when a unit gets it's IP refreshed Sonos will lose connection for a while. This could be an issue with my router but since it's a year old Airprort Extreme I would expect it to hande these things quite well. Is there some other Wifi router that is considered more superior in the Sonos context? 2. Another issue I get quite often, especially with the Mac OSX Sonos controller is that it fails to refresh completely. So if I open my laptop and switch to the already running Sonos Controller it's either completely blank or it fails to update to the songs currently playing. Since there's no refresh button a complete restart of the contoller is the solution which feel
Not always but quite often, when I select Sonos from the Airplay devices in iTunes, I get a message "The AirPlay device “Sonos” is currently in use. Please select another device." This is even though Sonos playback is stopped. Is there anything I can do to get it out of that state? Anything to make sure it is not in use? Other than clicking stop, which I have already done? Please note: Sonos Airplay is already set up and works most of the time.
I have installed the Sonos Controller app on my Windows 7 computer, but when I attempt to add my Music folder I get the following error: Sonos was unable to add the music folder Reason: Unable to add the shared folder "\\Computer\Music" to your music library (1002). I have tried connecting to other shares without success.
This new app is a real turn off, not intuitive at all, the colour white against white is awful. Doesn’t flow at all. Sonos, you need to fix this fast
