So, as a joke I set the alarm on my brother's Sonos via my app, now every morning at 5am I get an alarm notification on my phone... because I didn't set the alarm on my system there are no alarms to clear when I go to "alarms" in Sonos ..... how do I get it forget about an alarm on another system?!
How do I go about deleting a room from my sonos app that doesn't have a speaker in it. It is not needed as a room choice anymore
My wife and I both have the controller app on our respective phones. If she has selected, say, Abba in the bedroom, I cannot see how to select, say, Elvis in the kitchen without completely wiping her selection. In other words, in my simple speak, there aren't two simultaneous Windows to control two separate room/music selections. Please advise
I can't express how much I dislike the new app update. Yes I know this topic isn't new, but our community needs to make our voice loud, and we must keep talking. Have confidence that Sonos is listening, and dont wait to speak up until they reply "okay we've heard you, and we are giving back what you want."
I am not a fan of the new UI. It seems to be designed to quickly save the radio you are listening too to a list and also group the speakers to send the music too . However if you want to change radio stations (possibly also music ) you have to jump through hoops to do it . I am sure I am missing something here so am sure you can correct my issue
I have a Chromebook. Can I control my Sonos with it? I hate that it's only controlled by my phone. How do I let my guests or kids use it when I'm not home?
1. There is a Play1 on there that isn't mine. I don't have a Play1. It was recently added and that is when my troubles started. I'd like to delete that but cannot find a way to do so. 2. There are also a good many Software packages (iOS, PC, android and one other I don't recognize at all) that I've used over the years (since 2012 or 2013) and I suspect there is some kind of iOS Beta conflict that I can't resolve. I don't have any iOS devices anymore. Basically, I can't update my software. I can't add or remove services. Is there I way I can go into the sonos webpage, login, go to my products (which will show hardware and software from the beginning of time) and just delete the hardware or software I want to delete. Then I'll reset controller (android) if need be. Any ideas?
Hi, I bought a 2nd hand CR200 on eBay a while ago which worked great. But after an update it has stopped working. Dug it out recently as I'd like to fix it or get rid of it. When I place it into the dock, the LED goes orange for a few seconds then goes off. Screen stays blank. When I put it in dock holding mute/home the LED flashes orange, and logo screen appears (Sonos Alpha shows here) then an Update complete page shows. I can remove it from cradle holding these buttons, and battery shows as full. As long as I am holding a button, the screen stays on. If I let go, screen goes blank. Googled around and obviously can find issues with the CR200, but not this specific issue. Anyone else had this? Anyone managed to fix it? Thanks, Gavin
I know there are a few threads on this, but being a software developer myself, I wanted to provide a somewhat more tempered response, and some additional technical aspects I've noticed, in an effort to be more helpful to the app developers. Note: I'm using the Android tablet app (on older ASUS tablet) and Android phone app (Samsung). (The desktop app is still blue/black, and no layout change - Excellent!) 1) The new bright/white mode is blindingly white. Yes, I know I can adjust my screen brightness (which still doesn't help that much), but I don't have to do this for any other app, much less one that I often use in dimmer environments. IMO, I think the white background looks unfinished and like something is missing/broken. That's just my personal preference though (along with seemingly everyone else on these boards). If you want to keep the bright/white mode for whatever developer or higher-up wanted it, then that's fine - just add an option for a dark mode for the rest
What have you done to the interface This is a retrograde step, plus why do the icons have to be so large. Extremely disappointing and irritating. Please sort out something better !
For me there is an "old" Sonos experience that started about 5 years ago which I can describe as a joyful experience where me and my family happily used it as an add on to playing our beloved records. Even to an extend we introduced Sonos in our business as well. And there is a "new" Sonos that started a couple of months ago, especially from update 7.4 forward which I can describe frustrating, policed and bold. We stopped using the Sonos system in our house. I've been in contact with some competing platforms, including Bluesound. Non of them were clear about the future direction of the software and so far non of them support rolling back software, so whatever platform your hopping on, you will always run into the risk of getting your devices useless because of software decisions you do or may not like. It seems to be the consequence of investing in "connected" devices. You assume you buy a hardware device but the (future) functionality entirely depends on the software, on which you
Is anyone else fed up to the back teeth with he latest update? I use my phone as my main controller playing music from my NAS, it works beautifully but the new app is a nightmare. Often a whole album will add to the queue and getting just a single track selected is tedious. Making playlists is 5 times more tricky and time consuming. I am seriously thinking of ditching Sonos in favour of another system where the app is more user friendly and selecting single tacks is obvious........ just like Sonos was before the last update. I don't understand the logic of the last update and wish I had never done it.. I hate it. Please bring back the easy single track selection in favour of this hideous play whole album default.
I would like to use the Philips Hue Motion Sensor to play music while I'm in the kitchen and stop the music, when I leave the kitchen. Is this possible? I have Philips Hue all around my appartement today and in the kitchen, the light is controlled by the motion sensor. I basically want the music to turn on, with the lights and off again, when the lights turn off. If possible, I would also like speaker to stream a radio station on the morning hours and an Apple Music playlist in the evening. And if I'm playing something on other Sonos speakers, I would like the kitchen speaker to play the same, when turned on. I don't own any Sonos products today. I'm asking before buying. I'm looking for a sound system for my appartement.
Sonos Android app, version 8.2.1, running in Android 8.0.0 on Nexus 5X In the app's "Advanced" settings, I have both "Show Notifications" and "Show lock screen controls" enabled. In the Android settings, under "Apps & Notifications", the Sonos app's notifications are not blocked. Until a few days ago (I would guess the update to Sonos app 8.2.1 or 8.2.0, but not certain), whenever the Sonos app was playing music, an Android notification was visible. Now, it is not. Android notifications are still working normally for all apps other than Sonos app. Yes, I've rebooted. No, I haven't reinstalled the app. Why does this matter? Apart from the general function of the notification, like being able to quickly pause or switch, of course with no notification, the notification volume control is not available. The volume control in the app itself is often not very usable because it disappears after a few seconds, so if one is making gradual adjustments it is quite anno
I have a Moto 360 with Android Wear and every time I use the Sonos App in my phone the notification in the phone keeps persistent. Even if I quit the app in the, the notification remains. I can't kill the notification swapping to right. I can only hide it for a few minutes swapping down. I'ts really annoying.
Hi - potentially a stupid question, but after the new update to iOS 11 and associated Sonos Controller update on iPhone, I can't figure out how to switch the room I am controlling sound for. As an example - my controller now can control "Living Room". No problem. But if I go upstairs and want to control "Bedroom", I can't switch control away from "Living Room" to "Bedroom". In the old app it was easy, but I can't figure out how make the switch in the new app. Tapping on the bottom middle room icon merely brings up a list of my Sonos locations and the option/ability to group/ungroup speakers, which doesn't solve my problem. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Hi, Maybe I’m missing something... But why can’t we seek (scrub) through tracks when using the Google Play Music service? Also, I can’t play the previous song either? Really annoying. I’m using the Sonos app on iOS
I'm a longtime Android phone user and switched back to iPhone recently for work. The first thing I noticed is that when I open my Google Play Music app, the 'cast' icon is gone and I can't connect to my Sonos speakers directly from the Google Play Music app. This was one of my absolute favourite features, because I find the Sonos app to be very difficult to navigate when linked up to third-party services. For instance, none of my album art loads (which makes navigating much more difficult) and all of my artists are split up a million ways (especially my hip-hop music... ASAP Rocky is now forty different listings like ASAP Rocky feat. so-and-so). Are there any plans to bring this direct-casting ability to other services outside Google Play Music on Android? I'd even be willing to switch music services if it means I can avoid the Sonos app altogether.
I have a macbook (Sierra) and a touchbar. Could you change the Sonos application to support this touchbar?
Hi! Does anybody knows if it's possible to control Sonos from the Deezer app?
I haven't any evidence that the SONOS team take any notice of what is written here. ,
Where are the release notes for app version 8.2.1?
The app I have downloaded on my android tablet differs from that downloaded on my android smartphone. There is limited functionality on the tablet, and it won't let me update it. I have deleted it and reinstalled from Google play, but still no luck. For instance, when I go into help and tips, custom tune a speaker then 'lets try it' it says: "sorry, this feature is unavailable right now". According to the tablet the version running is 8.1.1. The phone is running version 8.2.1
Ios update required, click yes to open app store, on sonos app it says open, click on this and it just loops you back to the sonos screen without starting update.
Hi I created a queue using the music stored on my iPhone, clicked save and gave it a new name. Now where do I find it to play it again? Logical place was playlists on this phone but it’s not there. Help!
