After the last update, the Sonos app on my Pixel 2 (Android 8.1.0) has been the single biggest battery drain, causing a noticeable reduction in my battery life at the end of the day. It says most of the usage is foreground usage, even though I know that's not the case as I rarely actually use it on my phone. While on the subject, the 8.6 version on my PC (Win 😎 has started struggling to find speakers, and when it does it doesn't report what's on them correctly (says no music playing, when there is). If I try to change it to something else, that works and all looks OK for a while again...
I purchased two new speakers and when I went to add them I had to update the sonos program. After the update the "add speaker" selection is missing. Both on PC and on my iPad. How do we add new speakers now?
Hello. Today I swapped out my netgear router for a new Google Wifi system. I kept the network name the same. Every other network device in the house worked correctly with no changes. The Sonos controller on my mac works fine, as does my old touchscreen sonos controller, and so does the Sonos App on my android phone. However, none of my Ios devices (ipad or iphoe) work. It can not find the system and when I hit the buttons for it to connect it doesn't do anything. The android device found the system immediately with no issues. It feels like this is an Ios issue and not a sonos network issue, but looking for help. Thanks.
Has anyone else experienced this? Since upgrading my Sonos app yesterday (7/11/18) for the Airplay 2 update, I no longer see the lock screen controls during playback - and neither can I adjust the playback volume using my iPhone volume buttons.
Really confused by this. I can play music over AirPlay from my iPhone or iPad to my Sonos just fine. MixCloud example here: But on my Mac (which is on the same - and only - wifi network) iTunes and Spotify can find it but no sound comes out of my Sonos, In iTunes, if I set it to play sound out of both my Mac's internal speakers and my Sonos, sound only comes out of the Mac not the Sonos: Other apps such as QuickTime Player can't find Sonos at all: Under System Preferences - Sound - I can correctly see my Sonos Living Room group. I have of course restarted all devices & the computer. All software is up to date. What do I need to do to get my Sonos working on ALL apps on my Mac? i.e. (1) sound playing on the ones that can find it and (2) finding Sonos in all desktop apps. Setup: Sonos One & Sonos Play:1 (grouped as "Living Room") iMac 27" iPhone 8 iPad 6
Looking for support for Sonos to create a 5-band equalizer rather than the simple bass/treble sliders. Fantastic engineering behind the products...can’t be too hard to implement more user-defined listener preferences. Anybody with me?
After updating to version 8.3 the Sonos app rapidly drains the battery on an iPhone SE running iOS 11.2.5 (42% of all battery usage in the last 24 hours, overall to cca 40%, so 25% of battery capacity goes just for Sonos used for 4 minutes foreground and 1 minute background (!)). Lock screen controls is Off (since this was suggested as a possible cause in a number of places). I have also tried deleting and reinstalling the app: same behaviour. Before the update Sonos battery usage was only a few percent. Nothing else has changed. I uploaded the diagnostics 8420376. Sonos "solution" has been very helpful: "We have been investigating reports from customers who are perceiving high battery usage by the Sonos app on their iOS 10 devices. The data has now been analysed and we have determined the battery usage to be reading as expected. Our only advice to customers who do not agree with this is to force stop the app when it is not in use."
I created a daily 6:00 PM alarm a few days ago in a room that I have since deleted from my Sonos system. The original room was called Living Room 1 and that room no longer exist. Now I get notices on all my IOS devices that the alarm has gone off. How can I delete this alarm?
My Sonos Beam is randomly turning off my TV. I had to do some digging and troubleshooting, but I have discovered that the TV Auto Play is the culprit that is randomly turning my TV off. I have turned the AutoPlay off and I do not have any issues. That said, I do want the beam to auto play when the TV is turned on in lieu of having to go into the app to do so. My kids don't have the app and unless they do, the TV sound wont come out of the beam. Any ideas? TV: OLED C7 - 65" Sonos Beam Connection - ARC port
Are there any apps (3rd party even) that will allow me to “DJ” over my Sonos Connect: Amps? I’d like to be able to mix in songs and fade them in and out. A little scratching would be mix too!
I have Sonos throughout my house and have had no problems with it for a long time. I started off with 2 Sonos 5s and a bridge and then added more and now have the following configuration. Kitchen: 2 x play 5s paired, 2 x play 3s paired and a woofer. Living Room: 1 Playbar, 2 x play 1s and 1 woofer. Music room: 1 x Connect Amp. Bedroom: 1 x play1. Bedroom: 1 x play1. Study: Bridge connected to the router with Ethernet cable. I use spotify as my music streaming service. With the above configuration I didn't seem to have any problems. I have since added a Beam in the Kitchen and a Boost (to replace the bridge) and play 1 in the study. Since adding the play 1 to the study and Beam to the kitchen I have had no end of problems. The speakers keep dropping out and sometimes won't connect at all. The iphone app and ipad app are slow to respond when adjusting volume and sometimes when selecting new music to play some speakers continue to play the previous track for 10 to 15 seco
How do I add a song playing on my sonos to an Apple Music (iTunes) playlist? Any help would be greatly appreciated. The scenario I'm running into a lot is when I discover a new song, while using one of my sonos speaker, and want to add it to my Itunes playlist, I can't figure out how do move the song over.
Media reports: Setup and configuration options have been removed from the Desktop Controller for Windows and macOS. It is no longer possible to use the Desktop Controller to setup or transfer a Sonos system, add a player, create or separate stereo pairs, register players, setup a TV, enable parental controls, manage network settings, adjust line-in settings, opt in or out of beta programs, or change Sonos account passwords. Is this a good idea?
I know that sonos havent officially released that the Sonos will work with Google home wirelessly yet but on the assumption that the update will be released in 2018 will all the sonos speakers be able to be controlled wirelessly by it. Im really confused My partner wants a sonos speaker and we are being bought a google home for xmas. The question is what speaker to buy, I want one that will eventually work with voice command from google home
Sonos is getting a lot of grief about lock screen controls disappearing with the update that supports Airplay. But at least part of the problem falls back on Sonos based upon the following observations. After installing a Sonos Beam and updating my iOS apps, my lock screen controls disappeared on my iPad (but not my iPhone.) I read community posts and Sonos statements and was confused. Sonos said that Airplay devices in my home (other than Sonos devices) caused the problem. But I don’t have any Airplay devices other than a new Sonos Beam. Here’s what works for me to restore lock-screen controls for an iOS devices: 1. Go to iOS settings and select the Sonos app. 2. You will probably find the “Lock Screen Controls” in the ON position. 3. Toggle the setting to OFF. 4. RESTART your iOS device. 5. Return to iOS Settings and select the Sonos app. 6. Toggle the “Lock Screen Controls” back to the ON position. 7. The Sonos lock screen controls on my device are no
I was very disappointed when Sonos removed this feature from the iPhone app, because it's really handy to be able to quickly jump to the next song or turn down the volume from the lock screen without having to log into your phone, start the Sonos app, wait for it to connect, then do what I want to do. It's so much slower that way. Is there any way to get this option back? I don't use AirPlay and have a single PlayBar speaker that I control with the app. That's it. Thanks!
Hey there, I have a MAC using Yosemite 10.10.5 and when I'd like to add my iTunes to the music library, all options under manage are grayed out. How can I listen to my music?
The last couple of Christmases I have been able to play on Tune In 'Sverige Radio P2 Klassisk Jul. But this year Sonos Tune In doesnt list it and I can't seem to add it
Wonder if anyone can help. I have the 5.1 setup for my tv and I have my bass set to a quarter on the sub settings which I'm happy with for everyday telly. Now when I listen to music I have to turn up the bass to just over half way to which i'm also happy with the sound. So the Question is,is there any way of saving the Sub settings for music and the settings for tv so I don't have to keep adjusting the sub level settings.
After the last update, my green light is stuck on but is showing in speaker settings that it’s off, how can I fix this issue?
In case anyone is interested in this, Roon now works feeding Sonos speakers as of Ver 1.3, released today. (Not seeing 1.3 there yet at download page, but will likely be there tomorrow). I suspect this is a good option for those with larger than ~65k music libraries. The Roon integrated database of information is quite nice as well. In any case, I have no financial interest in Roon, just letting other SONOS users know about the recent change. From Announcement: "With the 1.3 update, Roon now streams to Sonos devices! This means all the users in a home – with one app and one music collection – can play music to Sonos, Airplay, Squeezebox, Sooloos, and any of over 50 Roon Ready devices available today. Since Sonos discontinued support for the iPod dock I have been struggling to adapt to how cumbersome it has become to play music from my iTunes library. It was a classic iPod so no digital link was possible, but it was easy to shuffle my music or play from my playlists. I have since added the 7000 songs to the music library on my sonos desktop controller but of course it wont play from my iPhone unless I connect to the desktop, which is also a burden. Also in downloading the music library I have lost all of my playlists that were on my library, so what was relatively easy before has now become an issue. The library seems to have been added to the queue, making it impossible to flick between artists and playlists and most of the night the music crashes. It’s all become very frustrating. I have 5 speakers Play 1, 3 x Play 3’s but none of them able to connect through airdrop. As far as I can see, the only hope of having the flexibility is buy a new iPod or a Smart Play 1 with Alexa. An
Hi there, I have just purchased a new PC laptop after many years with Mac. As Sonos have mind-numbingly removed the Manage options from their recent desktop controller software where can I download 9.1 from please? Thanks & kind regards, -=Glyn=-
Hi - I bought Sonos Play 3 speakers last year and love them. I want to start trying out DJing and want to buy the Pioneer DDJ-SB3 Controller. Are they compatible? It would be frustrating to have to buy new speakers for this.
We have a home setup with several rooms. Our living room is the center to our home with a surround system centered around playbar. With the TV/playbar and Apple TV 4K almost always on it would be convenient to have the sonos controller available for the Apple TV to control the home audio from there. As sonos controller is already available for iOS, porting it to apple’s tvOS should be rather easy, right? Any ideas why the sonos controller is not available for Apple TV?
