Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

Hi... I would love to have a feature where I can predefine a group of players and be able to play to this group... I have a two story house with 11individual players, and it would be perfect to have a predefined group for first floor and second floor. It would make it so much easier compared to the current where I have to choose between the individual players to make my group... Hopefully some others out there also find this feature request important so it will be implemented some day... Best regards to you all Bo Urskov
I would like to have a feature where you can permanently lock speakers in a group (not in a stereo pair as they’re not close to each other, but similar arrangement). So that even if they are added to a group and removed from the group they automatically stay in their permanent group. Also if they’re switched off & on it would be good to be able to get them to automatically stay grouped (or join a default group), rather than appearing as individual speakers. What do you think?
Hi, my Sonos system keeps stopping songs while they are still playing and then not starting the next song until I go into the app, then the song will start part way through before stopping early. I have changed the wifi channel several times and this does not seem to work, I have placed the device I am playing from next to the wifi router and it still happens. At the moment it is an expensive radio and am thinking of going back to bluetooth speakers
On December 6th we released Sonos version 7.0 and added a new registration method for Sonos systems that enables the listener to play music from Spotify straight to Sonos. As a result of the changes, this update also broke an unofficial Control4 integration with Sonos. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause some users of both Control4 and Sonos. If you’ve already updated your system and are unable to play to Sonos via Control4, you can still use the Sonos App on any compatible device. If you’re a Spotify subscriber, you can now also use the Spotify app to control what’s playing. We are in talks with Control4 on potential solutions and will provide updates here as they become available.
The recent 9.3 update required me to unplug all of my Sonos products and add them one at a time, to avoid the useless "error 30". However, I am now unable to re-add one playbar and one amp, both of which were working perfectly fine until the update. I submitted diagnostic #2117542868. Previous updates have been a pain, but in two years of ownership of a professionally-installed system I've never loss the use of speakers after an update. I have rebooted my router, and none of the MAC addresses or assigned IP addresses are duplicated in the network. I work in I.T. so managing a network is not new to me, but these constant issues with updates is making me reconsider my choice of hardware.
google home hub looks interesting. https://www.techradar.com/uk/reviews/google-home-hub
A customer would like to have an App for the Samsung Galaxy Gear SmartWatch. Including full control for the volume, skipping tracks etc. What do you think about it?
Is it me or can sonos not do something basic like play next track. If I select a track in an album, playlist etc. It just plays that track and doesn't continue to play the next tracks. What's that about?
Is it possible to get the pattern wallpapers that the beam displays on the TV? They would make great laptop, mobile wallpapers but I can't find them anywhere.
As we listen to our sonos system, the volume has started to fluctuate up and down on its own. This happens with the radio apps, Apple and Spotify. Is there a solution?
As a long time Sonos user and advocate in the UK, I feel more than slightly aggrieved at only recently finding out that Sonos were offering a limited time voucher scheme for old CR100s. Clearly I've missed the deadline and frankly Sonos Customer Service couldn't give a damn... Anyone else caught in the is position or have any advice?? I suspect it's corporate greed taking over at what I used to think of as a innovator and trail blazer, that should be supported through thick and thin. Well, no longer.
i can't seem to find any instructions online anywhere to give me directions on how to import a Sonos playlist to Apple Music. I want to try and use it with CarPlay but I'm struggling find out how at the moment!
I updated to the most recent release for Android, v9.0.1. At first, it was laggy, then would freeze up and crash. When I say "at first", I mean after the first 5 minutes of use. Now it crashes immediately on opening and I can't even submit a diagnostic report because it just keeps crashing! Tried reinstalling but to no avail.
I have had two Play 1 speakers working since 2016.We recently had to change router and now the controller app version 9.2.1 (on a Samsung SM-T310) won't work as the app states "The software on this device is outdated.......", and won't go any further in letting me try to re-connect the system. The Android version is 4.4.2 and the notes for version 9.2.1 shows it works on Android version 4.4. Does anyone, particularly Sonos, know what is going on here? Can I get a software version that works with Android 4.4.2 as this tablet won't update to anything newer? Help!!!!
Updated to 9.2 but now the "manage" options are greyed out. I can't find any of my imported playlists. I am running a iMac OS X 10.10.5. I can't find any related resolutions so looking for help. Submitted diagnostics # 1769237365.
I installed Wine on Mint 19 without problems. Then installed the Win Desktop Controller .... all I see is a nice black Sonos flash fixed permanently on screen. Have to reboot to clear. Any gurus with some tips out there?
When you are on the same wireless network as my sonos play:1 device, you have all access to the device. Download the app, add device, and you are in. You can even DLNA push whatever you want to the device, provided you are on the same network. Is there a way to add a password or to lock down some services?
Hi, Whenever I use the "shuffle" feature, it always "shuffles" in the same order. Is there any way to have it shuffle the order differently? I thought it would be a random shuffle but on my system it is not random at all - always the same order. (Or maybe I am incredibly lucky and should play the lottery?). Is there a way to either mix up the shuffle order, or to have it actually shuffle in a different random order each time I choose the shuffle option? Thanks! Juggernaut
how can I prevent Sonos app [only] on my android mobile from going to sleep?
I need to update my music library and the whole manage menu is greyed out. MacOS 10.10.5 Please let me know how to get that functionality enabled.
This is since a fairly new update. Every now and then the hardware controls of Sonos on my iPad Mini 2 stops working and it happens even when there are no other Apps active on the iPad. Sonos is running all by itself. It usually happens if I pick up the iPad efter a while and wake it. Then for a short moment the iOS "Volume" icon (kind of half transparent with small quadratic dots indicating volume) appears and after that hardware control of Sonos cease to work. My only "solution" so far seems to be to restart Sonos. Then it works again, for a while. I would say this happens maybe one time out of five so it's pretty annoying. Is this specific to iPad/iPad Mini 2 or is it a general bug?
Here is a tutorial to install Sonos on ubuntu using Wine, PlayonLinux and Samba (for the music library). I/ Install the Sonos Controller The first thing to do is to install Wine and PlayonLinux so your computer can use Windows software. Open a terminal (ctrl+alt+t) and copy/paste the following line by line. sudo apt-get install wine sudo apt-get install playonlinux Then download the latest version of the Sonos Controller for Windows. Start PlayonLinux and click on "install a program". A new window opens. Select "Install a non listed program" (at the bottom). If it is the first time you use PlayonLinux you may not have this option. Then close the window and re-open it. Select "install in a new virtual drive". Name the drive however you want (but "sonos" seems a logical choice). Untick the boxes that may be ticked and choose "32-bit installation". Browse to the sonos controller you downloaded and click "next". The installer starts. Install the software (leave everything as it is)
Availability of App
Just added a Sonos Sub to my system and due to my setup (some wireless speaker setup and some hardwired speakers) the subwoofer would work better if it had separate speaker controls (like the other Sonos speakers). Is it possible this option will be available in a future update? I can't imagine that I'm the only person out there that this is a problem for.
I have a Sonos connect in my living hooked up to my AV receiver. If I'm in a different room in my house with my Mac, is there a way to also play the same music through my Mac using the Sonos Controller?
