What is the loud switch in eq on the app for. I have a Sonos BeamNew to Sonos sorry if this is a daft question 

I am incredibly frustrated with SONOS.  I was at a friends house who had a new SONOS 2.  It made me download SONOS 2 to use system.  Now I am back in my house with SONOS 1 components and it does not recognize my system.  When you open Sonos 1 app, it shows my system for a split second, and then reverts to Sonos 2 screen saying it does not recognize network. This is such a ridiculous business strategy.  It seems like you created forced obsolescence of your older components that worked perfectly fine! 

I have had Sonos for years and have Sonos 1 and signed up for YouTube Music a month ago.  Recently have been getting: "Error getting stream URL for track." and only one song in a playlist would play.  I then deleted Google Play Music since I had signed up for You Tube Music thinking that may be the problem.  Now all the songs in all playlists are grayed out and a circle with bar through it  in front of each song.  Can anyone tell me what is going on?  Thanks.

I’ve kept my system on the S1 software because I think the S2 software isn’t yet mature and there are no compelling reasons to change. When I try to add a Connect the Controller says it needs to update.  When I take that option I’m offered only the S2 app … that I don’t want.  There’s no other option.  It’s a really simple need: I just want to add a Connect to an existing S1 system. Before anybody asks, yes all my hardware (including the extra Connect) is S2 compatible.  But no, I don’t want to migrate to S2.

Apple Music song library won’t queue after playing either an album or playlist from Apple library...it simply adds song to the album played as the album is the current queue unless I clear it...then the new queue is limited to the song(s) selected, and not a queue fro the entire song library….help?...something simple I’m missing here?...I’m a new Sonos user...many thanks

So on the App on my PC I can see my 'Sonos Playlists' as an option to select a music source. However, on the app on my iPhone that option isn't available? I can select 'imported playlists' , Artists, Albums etc. but not Sonos Playlists?

I had some issues recently where I couldn’t find 2 of my 4 Sonos One speakers.  Got that squared away but now I can’t adjust the volume from the app like I used to.  If I move the volume control up or down nothing happens.  The music is playing but the volume can’t be adjusted from the Sonos app.

I have the Sonos app on both my iphone 11pro and my iPad Air 3rd generation.  I am running the latest IOS software and have an up to date Sonos app on both devices.  Whenever I try to launch the app on my iphone when the app is already open on my ipad, I get a greyed out screen (I have a screen shot).  This does not change, unless I close the app on my ipad.  Once I do that, it takes about a minute for the app on my iphone to adjust to the normal screen (again I have a screen shot), but this screen is then frozen.  The only way to get the app to work on the phone is to close the app on the ipad and close the app on the iphone, then restart the app on the iphone.

I can’t seem to figure out how search is supposed to work on Tunein radio, Iheart radio and other services. If I am looking for a particular station or program it seems I need to know in advance which category and  sub-category Sonos has decided to apply to my target, if it is listed at all. There do not seem to be  an effective search function.How do people find stations and programs?

I have music  on Google Drive. How can I play this through sonos?

I would buy more equipment if I thought you’d support your product with multiple genres and more length to a genre.  But it looks like you’re waiting for another vendor to leapfrog you and get your future new business.  I guess I just have to wait until Sonos goes belly-up and someone buys your code.

HiRecently purchased a beam alongside an existing play 1. New app installed and beam working however from app can only see one of my two devices (both in same room currently). Interesting point is both at one stage do appear and work in app. Almost feels like they flip flop. Both on my network and both using WiFi Any thoughts

Please provide a software update that allows Sonus Move to pair with a Sonus Sub. I shouldn’t be forced to buy another Sub-compatible speaker in order to pair with a Sub then group them all.    I understand the reasoning of the Move being portable, but if I want one or more Moves paired with a Sub while they’re in their normal location, you should let me. It’s easy enough to turn off the Sub temporarily if I want to take the Move(s) in another room (or outside) and the Sub isn’t nearby.    In my case, I want a pair of Moves+Sub in my bedroom/bathroom with the Sub under the bed. I bought the Moves so I could “Move” them in the bathroom when I shower and get ready without having to unplug/plug power cables. In order to achieve this, I had to buy a Play:5 to pair with the Sub. The Sub is still in close proximity and sounds great with the additional Play:5 but I don’t really need the extra Play:5 and this kind of use case is exactly why some people will buy Mov

The other thread that had this topic is closed, but didn’t address my problem. After an hour with sonos help, this is what we did.First, confirmed my S2 was up to date. Unplugged all sonos speakers/units Rebooted the router Plugged them back in.It took a little waiting for them to come back online, but it did the trick. 

Hello All in the Community! I continued to be asked to upgrade my app on my phone everytime I log in. I have a friend that did the upgrade and is now no longer able to use their devices. What is the deal with the older devices. Will it brick my networked amps and portables if I upgrade the software? I have Sonos Play 1 and Sonos Connect Amps.  Thank youRalph  

Can anyone help?The S1 app told me to instal the new S2 version. This works with my android phone no problem but unfortunately not with my iPad.The pad is running the latest OS but the app won’t let me past the Terms and Conditions. 

I have a system I installed for a client that where I swapped out a sonos one sl black for one that’s white. The room is a master bathroom. The problem I have is that when I tap the group button and then click ‘everywhere’ the room won’t select.  I can manually click the room and it works fine from there. But the ‘everywhere’ will neither select or unselect that particular room.  I’ve factory defaulted the speaker and added it back using a different name and same results.  My app is up to date and Sonos the sonos system. This problem is repeatable on multiple iOS devices. Sonos tech support suggested posting this question to the community. They are stumped apparently. 

I have never been so frustrated with an upgrade, my system is now down, there is no way to go back to S1….

I just replace my SoundBar with a Beam. The SoundBar controlled the volume properly on my TV whether it was set to cable or streaming from either AppleTV or an Amazon Fire device (I am using a Harmony remote, but I don’t think that matters). WIth the Beam, I have it set up to control the TV volume, but the remote does not affect the volume when I’m streaming from the Fire. In fact, I can’t even set it up with the TV set to the Fire input - it doesn’t see a click on the Volume button. My TV does not have an ARC input, just a digitial audio out, if that matters. Is this something that I have to fix by reprogramming my Harmony, or what?

There was a thread about this topic, but it is closed for comments. It’s still an issue: Sonos can’t see semi-colons as a delimiter for genres. It is musicologically impossible to fit every piece of music into one genre. That’s absurd. If Sonos loves music, it should address this problem!

Hi! have just got my Sonos One and have downloaded the app. Not a fan really as I can’t seem to be able to play my iTunes playlist from my phone? Also I have lists on my YouTube account and they won’t play either as there isn’t an “app” to support this help!!

Hello, been looking through this for ages before finally biting the bullet n asking.  so basically my Sonos one and One SL are connected to my wifi but I don’t want to connect my iPhone to wifi just cuz it takes ages to do anything on my phone. I want to know is there a way I can connect my Spotify to my Sonos system, in a way that when I click the stream button my Spotify it comes up as a option if I’m connected to wifi or not
