Controllers and Music services

I’ve been using Plex with Sonos for a while, and after the time it took to get everything set up I’m loath to change it, but I’m looking for something that doesn’t need to be online to work.Yes, Plex can be configured to work just on the local network, but it’s not how the product is built and isn’t the most reliable of changes.  

YouTube music took over Google play music which I have used for several years on my Sonos systems. The YouTube music Sonos app is just terrible.When you search for an artist there is no list of top songs, there are individual albums, often with one single song under each album.  There are songs by that artist listed under "songs" that aren't listed under the artist, so the songs are in YouTube music they're just not showing up on the search by artist function. For example, search for “Darlene Love” and several albums show up under “artists”, but not all her songs- you can go to the “songs” tab, and two other songs show up that aren't under “artists”. It’s ridiculous that simple searching doesn’t work.  There are no YouTube music “Stations” or “Genres”. You can't create a radio station based on a song. There is no genre searching. There are  very few playlists from the YouTube music. If you search for Christmas music, nothing comes up even though they have a million stations on the desk

We have the Sonos One speakers.  We noticed that the “Play” and “Shuffle” buttons disappear for many, but not all, of our saved albums. Often occurs after we play the complete album. To get them to reappear, we have to delete the album and re-save it.  We are using Amazon music for the music source.  Does anyone know why this is happening.  

How can I stream CBC music streams and podcasts from the CBC Radio & Music service?  I'm able to stream the live radio stations, "CBC Radio 1" and "CBC Music On Air" (aka Radio 2) from various markets, but I don't see the other CBC music streams or podcasts on Sonos that are available in the corporation's own CBC Listen phone app.

Can i listen to what's playing on sonos in my Samsung S9? I want to send what's playing on sonos into my headphones... 

Dear members, Since today I have a Sonos Five (horizontally spreading love in the room). Also activated Tidal hifi a while ago and am a long time Spotify user.  So I tried both music services (since the S2 Sonos now supports “hifi”) to see if the difference is substantial and worth the double monthly fee of Tidal.  In short I have a real hard time hearing any difference (maybe with some of the Master quality songs it’s slightly improved).  Can anyone tell me if there is an actual difference between both sound qualities on a Sonos speaker. I’ve red the “facts” - the lossless support - but I’m not that impressed..  Many thanks for any advice or experiences!

Is it not possible to get the three pop ups OFF my app permanently?  Add Voice Assistance. NO. Try Sonos HD. NO. Tune one of my SL’s. NO.I have to clear these out every single time I open the app.  Can’t Sonos remember my choices???

We will be visiting someone who still has their Sonos equipment using S1. Will I be able to use my Sonos S2 app or do I need to re download S1? Thanks!

I use play one in my study and move in kitchen. Play one stopped working from app on PC and iphone. All efforts to update failed - going around in circles. Now if I use latest sonos app both speakers play. I want to control them from separate apps.

Can you please confirm that all music selected from within the Sonos Radio HD section is played in HD?  For instance, if I play Classic FM from outside Sonos Radio HD is it enhanced if I initiate it from within Sonos Radio HD?

Hello everyone. Im kindly asking your expertise. I have Project juke box E TT with a set of speakers from Project (x 2 Speaker box 5), connected to left/right speakers output on TT. Basically, usual set up.The TT also has RCA outputs at line level and preamp/phono level, also stereo RCA line-level input.My question, would it be possible to connect Sonos 5 to RCA line out with current 2 passive speakers connected, so the sound will play from all 3 speakers simultaneously? Or I will experience a short lag from Sonos 5, therefore audio stream will not be synchronized?Thanks for all your guidance!

Hello - I just purchased a Boost today and I cannot get it setup for the life of me. All of the online research tells me there should be an option in System → Settings to Setup Boost. After talking to support they have recently removed that option in the app during the latest upgrade. Has anyone had recent luck in getting the Boost setup?Thank you!

I dearly want to throw my complete Sonos system in the garbage but I can’t because I have invested over $7,000 in equipment prior to the S2 upgrade. The S2 upgrade has reduced my mixed system to barely operable garbage. 

Recently purchased a new Play5. During the set up I upgraded the controller to S2. Discovered that two Play 1’s in separate rooms have dropped off of the room tabs. Have reset them, turned of the controllers and turned off the router but they still don’t display.  what is the solution to get them to present in the right place?

I have purchased a CR200 remote and am unable to connect it to Sonos net. I have a bridge and 1 zone players connected over Sonos net (not wifi) and can connect my iPhone but the CR200 will not connect. It sees the network and says it is trying to connect but then fails and says your Sonos component was not found. I've reset my router and the Sonos system and reset it up from scratch but still no joy. I also tried pulling its battery out and didnt work, the CONTROL still does not connect.

Hello,Some thumbnails of mp3 music files, located on my Synology NAS, show the wrong album art in my S2 app (app version 12.2.5).How can I correct that? Thanks. 

Why doesn’t someone make the android phone app do the same things as the PC app? They both show Music Library, SONOS Radio, Amazon Music and TuneIn. But the phone app does not show SONOS Playlists. If I go to on this Mobile Device, I see Playlists, but I get a message that says, No selections are available. There are no instructions I can fin as to how to add to the phone playlists. Please, can someone help here? I would like the playlist I have set up on the PC to show on the phone so I can choose the fruits of my labor. Thank you.

I have seen this occur with repeatability under MacOS.  Both Catalina and Big Sur versions.  I set the Sonos device as my default sound output device.  As shown below, ManCave and SonosBeam are Sonos devices.  Within a couple minutes the wired ethernet stops working on my Mac and then eventually a kernel panic.  I am able to control spotify music on the Sonos using the MacOS Sonos S2 App with no problem.  All Sonos devices are wired with ethernet.  I see this behavior when selecting both One and Beam products.  Below is crash report from MacOS.  Thanks Davepanic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff800fabf643): "Restart timed out in phase 'Notifying power plane drivers'. The music I play from the Sonos app is registered in Last.fm. The problem is that the name of the used Sonos device is also transferred. The example below shows how my device named “ALRUM” is included in the artist name (Pavement). This is terribly annoying as I have to manually edit all registered plays on Last.fmIs there any solution for this?  

Original Sonos customer, with 5x ZP100 units.  Still going strong. When we upgraded our TV system,  immediately bought the ARC and the Subwoofer. Only in set up did I learn that S2 CONTROLLER APP exists. Yes, S2 drives the two new items well. YET, in the same room is one of the ZP100 units and excellent ceiling speaks. We'd love to be able to play both.  Any way to link them??

Hi folks, I can’t get 2 different Ports to play different music at the same time. I thought the answer was here, but I don’t see a “Rooms” tab in my S2 app. (Photo of that thread below). How do I play different music on 2 different ports from the S2 iOS app? 

So when I search for Artists, Albums or Songs within the Sonos app, I get no results from Tidal or Spotify.  E.g. search for Beatles and nothing.  However when I search Playlists I get results from both Tidal and Spotify. I have tried chatting with support but getting terrible customer service and nobody is responding to me. Has anyone else experienced this? I have tried authorizing again, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and I have rebooted the router, nothing solves this. It is happening n multiple devices
