Hello all, I’m hoping someone here can help me out because I’m going insane in frustration. I’ll try to put in as much detail as possible but also try to keep it concise but I do tend to waffle, so fair warning.Alright so….. I own just the one Sonos device (play 3) and up till recently I haven’t had any problems with it. I had it setup so it was running wirelessly using the S1 controller (on a OnePlus 5t phone) and everything was fine. However, every time I went to use the S1 app I was bombarded with annoying pestering to download the new S2 app. I had put off downloading the S2 app as I read some very negative reviews and I had everything I needed in the S1 app. Eventually the constant annoyance of the S2 update prompts was too much and I caved and downloaded the app.Immediately after downloading and going through the setup of S2 app I couldn’t connect to my speakers and the frustration began. After going through all the troubleshooting options I decided it would probably just be easi
Hi All,Been a Sonos user for ages. Recently I’m getting a heck of a lot of drop outs, various components drop out and come back on line in 10-30s, or all drop out. Streaming services drop out, songs skip, overnight looping of white noice tracks randomly stops.Thinking it was some sort of wireless issue I recently moved to a wired setup with one of my play 1’s directly wired to my primary Google Wifi puck. I’m still getting these issues unfortunately.Anyone have any ideas or pointers or could I submit a technical report to someone at Sonos to take a look for any issues for me?Btw I mainly use Amazon and Calm for streaming services.TIA
On just a couple of my hundreds of albums, the track time that displays is longer than the actual length of the music. When it gets to the end of the actual music it starts playingagain part way through the track. Why?
I have mistakenly updated my Sonos 1 to Sonos 2 however none of my Sonos products are compatible. How do I undo the update and reset all my products?
Hi My Iphone 11 (software version 14.4.2) sonos S2 app continually shows ‘unable to connect to sonos lets fix it’, when I click to fix it and follow the instructions (power off speakers and then the wifi hub), eventually it connects, until the next time and then the same message. The system is less than a year old and includes a bean, 2 x one, one sl and sub.I’ve put the app on my laptop and it seems ok but keeps asking me to reauthorise apple music, which I do but still doesn’t show it.I have 180Mbs fibre internet on a BT smart Hub 2 wifiAny guidance appreciated, thanks
Hi, I’ve seen various posts on this but I’m still struggling to keep all sonos’s connected, they regularly stop playing and drop off the app.Google router is ethernet connected to a virgin hub that’s been put into modem mode. Also ethernet connected via a switch is a play:1.I then have 3 more play:1s and a Play:5 that continually play up. I’ve tried switching the channels and have tried removing the wireless network from the app, nothing seems to fix it. They barely work for 5 minutes before one of them dropping off. Any thoughts? John B - you seem yo be bit of a pro - interested if you can help.
My ethernet-connected Play 5 keeps disconnecting. I unplug and restart the device and it works again for a few hours but then can’t be found again. The rest of the network (wifi) works just fine.
Hello, I have reconfigured my home network and I have to reconfigure all devices. My Sonos (I have a couple of Play:1 configured in stereo mode) are unable to complete the config procedure. I go to SYSTEM - NETWORK - NETWORK MGMT and I launch the procedure. As the sonos are plugged (they are working only in wired network) I have to unplug to proceed, the app say to connect to the local Sonoswifi THAT IS NOT TURNED ON and the procedure fails.Any suggestion ?Thanks in advance
Alarm comes on. Notification appears. I hit the Snooze icon. A notification confirms the snooze and when the music will come on again. But the music doesn’t come on again. Anywhere from 3 to eight minutes in, the system just forgets it’s doing a snooze. Doing testing, the snooze works properly maybe once out of 10 tries. Spent two hours with customer support - chat and phone. They had me change the SonosNet channel (“Could be interference”). Had me unplug everything, including the router, to reset. The alarm has worked fine for 14 years, then just stopped working a week ago.I’m on S1. I have a hybrid system with an ancient Connect:Amp and Connect, plus a new Amp purchased last year (when they scared us into upgrading) and two Play:1s. I also have a CR200, but the problem happens whether I’m using the CR200 or an Android phone. And it happens regardless of which “Room” I set for the alarm.Any suggestions appreciated. My next move is to try to isolate the problem by removing
Just wondering if/when android 7 devices no longer funtion as controllers, will the S1 app (and spotify app) for Windows 10 still work as controllers for my 6 Sonos speakers?
I have a Playbar, a Beam, 2x 1, a 3 and a 5. And a Bridge. At different times, one of the 1s and the 5 and now my Playbar have just stopped registering any power.I’ve changed fuses, interchanged cables, tried different locations and sockets, and nothing works.I think Sonos are simply shocking products for the rate at which they seem to be failing judging by my experience and that of other users I’ve seen commenting on the web with the same issue and lack of any fix support.I have two bose systems; a Wave I’ve had since 2001, and one home entertainment system which I’ve had since 2005. Both of which have been no problem. What explanation can Sonos offer? And what will they do about my most recent failure being the Playbar?
About a month and a half ago Stitcher stopped working with my Sonos system. I tried deleting it and adding it back and I get an error saying the stitcher server did not recognize my account. Stitcher works fine. I can listen and sign out and back in to it’s app with no problem. Interestingly if I choose create account when adding stitcher to sonos it takes me to a 404 page https://www.stitcher.com/Sonos/sign_in.php Can you please fix this bugI ran a diagnostic. The number is 444405896
I am not a radio engineer. In the past four months I have had to factory re-set my 3 Sonos multiple times. There have been no changes to my WIFI system, location, etc etc.“Which” advises that there are more reliable wifi music systems and my wife has decided that we will abandon Sonos and buy a system that works
Hi This question was raised 4 years ago and it’s baffling that there is still some issues about it.Songs with Japanese characters as their title/artist/etc. are displayed in giberrish although they are perfectly displayed with other software (MediaMonkey, or just Windows Explorer...)This is the case on both Windows and Android apps.Any idea how to fix this issue?
Hi. I am using Playbase with my TV and Apple TV 4K. Setup:HDMI from Apple TV connected to the HDMI ARC port of the TV. Optical cable connection between TV and Sonos Playbase TV sound settings it set to ‘External Speakers’It was all working as expected. I was able to control the volume of my Sonos with the Apple TV remote It would not link/change the volume on my TV. I recently did a software update on my Apple TV and on the TV (Android). Not sure what caused it but now, The volume buttons on Apple TV also controls the volume of the TV. So when ever i increase the volume, both outputs are active and i hear double sound. Its really annoying. Checked all settings of TV, Cant disable tv speakers. Anyone else faced this issue?
Recently switched from Ziply/Frontier/Verizon FIOS to T-Mobile Home Internet.Until this morning, had no problems related to SONOS, but now, get black screen and message “Sorry we can’t connect to SONOS” and the following suggestions:“Let’s try some things:• Turn your Wi-Fi off and on.Unplug your router, then plug it back in.Check the power to your products.• Restart your computer and try again.Changed router or Wi-Fi settings? Go tohttps://faq.sonos.com/NewAP” I’ve tried them all, and can’t get hooked back up. Both are on the same network, which is fed through T-Mobile Gateway to Google mesh wi-fi & out to all devices. Connection to SONOS is fine using the iphone and ipad apps on same network.Any suggestions? Thanks!
My Gen 1 play 5 makes a regular thudding noise after about 10 minutes of being turned on, this gradually increases in speed until it becomes continuous, this happens during standby as well as okay back, any help appreciated.
Can’t get the Controller CR200 connected to my multiroom system running on S1 sw. I have one Play 1 wired to the router and connecting procedure starts but do not find the system. So most likely system versions do not match, possible to downgrade the system to get the controller connected and then update all back up again? My system is running on the latest 11.2.8 version.
I have recently purchased a Sonos Roam (Kitchen and garden/garage) which I have connected to a Sonos One (Back Room) and SL (TV Room). When all connected in the house everything is fine. However on using the Roam in the garden via WiFi Extender it drops out and I get the following message. “Some Sonos products are using a WiFi Extender. If you include one of these in a room group, you won’t be able to play music in that group. To ensure playback in all grouped rooms you’ll need to permanently wore a Sonos product to your router” I did connect the SL to the router however still got the drop out and above message.Help please.
Been running Sonos for 10 years or so across 7 zones. I added Spotify to my services and suddenly all my rooms have disappeared but one. The one that has remained will not work either, it will allow me to select music but no progress when hitting play.I was on hold on the phone line for 20 minutes and then suddenly the hold music stopped….still on the line but don’t know if I have been dropped?Tried chat as well and stuck on “transferring to agent.” Any help would be appreciated - super frustrating.
Hi All,Running Windows 10 x64 here. When I update Sonos, it will no longer launch, it gives the below error. Then next time you reboot the system will not start at all - it gives a blue screen. Luckily my system is a Virtual Machine and I can restore back to before the system update. Can anyone help.
Yesterday I installed my new Sonos arc. As soon as it was installed my move and one SL disappeared from the app. The strange thing is that I can still play music on both directly from Spotify. This makes me think it is a Sonos app issue and not a network issue. Please advise.
We bought a new Sonos for the bedroom on the third floor of our townhouse. The second one is on the middle floor and the third one on the kitchen on the ground floor. Three of us in the house using the Sonos and all experiencing different states of connectivity. Sometimes we can see all devices, sometimes two and sometimes none. All are different at any different times on each of our mobiles. Router is on the middle floor and we have tried everything we have found in line. Unplugging, re booting etc. Anything we have missed before having to buy a booster? Thanks
