Amazon Alexa and Sonos

Alexa responds when her name is spoken and after I ask her to play for instance BBC radio 6 music she says, Sorry I’m having trouble please try in a little while.  What is the problem here.  I’ve tried removing the voice assistant and re-adding as well as disabling/re-enabling the skill and linking my BBC account within the Alexa app but still get the same message.   All devices are up to date.   Same thing happens on both Play One and my Beam.  Used to work flawlessly but stopped working some months ago.   I thought it might be the wifi but the Beam is about 2 feet from the router.   Any suggestions before I lose the will to live.   Thanks in advance

When saying “Alexa, play Spotify” Alexa chimes and responds “here is Spotify” but nothing plays. Same result when requesting to play SiriusXM or any other service. However, Spotify plays when using the Sonos app on my phone but when saying “Alexa, pause” Alexa chimes but doesn’t pause the music. Alexa does however respond to requests like “Alexa, what’s the weather?”  It seems while it’s recognizing the linked services it’s just not controlling them. 

Hello All, new to the Sonos community here. I am wanting to play music in my “upstairs group” which consists of two echo dots and a recently added Sonos Arc however, I am unable to do so. I did see, a few years ago, where this feature was unavailable (it was either one or the other -SONOS group OR ALEXA devices Group but not both) and was wondering if anything has changed? Hi has anyone else had difficulty with Alexa activation with Ones? I'm trying to get BBC radio to play in one room, Alexa announces BBC Sounds app, but nothing happens. It works fine in other rooms. I've read a lot of negative feedback over the last week or so to about voice activation, has something happened recently?

I know this was discussed a few years ago but it appears the conversation is now closed and, I believe, still unresolved.i have numerous Alexa deviles all called “computer” but my Bem, and my One’s require “Alexa” as the wake word. I would love to replace my aging Amazon devices with Sonos but not if I have to change the wake word for all of these devices.Surely the engineers can figure out a way to solve this problem. ( Iknow, stop calling me Shirley…) 

I have a Sonos Playbar, two Sonos Subs, and two Sonos One SL’s. Sounds absolutely amazing. BUT, I want to integrate my Amazon Echo Speaker community to it. I have made previous significant investments around the house and want to be able to utilize the multi room music feature through Alexa and integrate the Sonos and Other speakers. I have previously purchased a Bluetooth transmitter/receiver with a fiber optic output in attempt to trick the Sonos system into recognizing it as TV fiber input. Yes, it did work, but the timing was off, and even with the ability to adjust the milliseconds, I could never get it right.  So, does the Sonos Connect, Sonos Port, or Sonos Amp allow for this to happen? If not, has anyone ever been successful in making this happen? 

I know others have this issue.  (going on 4 years for me) is there a resolution or am I just wasting my time with Sonos products working with Alexa playing music?  I don't want to throw anymore good money at this problem.  the speakers sound great and I love them but the main purpose is to stream music with Alexa and it is just too frustrating.  I play instruments and like to play a song on Sonos to learn and it just isn't efficient to restart song after asking to play.

I have a Sonos One.I have an Alexa Routine that does three things, which works perfectly on my gen 1 Echo.Turn off lights Play Flash Briefing Start Sleep Sounds appWhen I invoke this on the Sonos speaker, it stops after step 2.  How can I make this work like it does on a speaker less than 25% of the price of the Sonos One?

Curious to know if any update from a stream posted a year ago regarding Sonos App allowing to select multiple languages for Alexa Assistant on Sonos Beam. Alexa app allows for echo devices to have this option i.e English and French - but no apparent way to do this via Alexa app to touch Beam settings.

I have a client that wants to use Alexa with his sonos. We he's ask the speaker to play music it will play on the play 1 only.Will Alexa ply my music to all sonos products or just the play 1? 

Sonos update and new app installed.The new app drops connection frequently with a pair of Sonos Speakers I have and now, I am unable to play any BBC Radio stations which all played perfectly well using Amazon Alexa. A Amazon device I have works just fine.Up until five days ago I was able to use my Sonos speakers to connect via Alexa to any Radio station, which was the main reason for buying these Sonos Speakers! I’ve spent over four full days now de-registering and re-setting these devices to no avail and I am very angry.These very expensive Sonos speakers have now effectivly been rendered useless.What’s going in Sonos?

Alexa doesnt function with S2 app. I see the previous conversation was closed by sonos. easy to close a conversation if you dont have an answer. totally hopeless service. NO forethought as to what mugh happen with S2

My Amazon Echo 2 & Google Home voice services 99% works in SL with only a few subscription services not accessible. Main reason I wanted to have SONOS other than for improved bedside music quality for most essential voice control services but I was most terribly disappointed even after spending lots of $$$ buying from someone who bought it from Amazon USA

Hi. Has anybody worked out if you can use Alexa voice control on Sonos one to play music from iBroadcast? I can use voice control with Alexa App on my phone to control iBroadcast but it doesn’t seem to work on the Sonos One.

When I attempt to play this station through Alexa, I receive an error message.  I have to open the Sonos Desktop or Mobile App.  How can this be fixed?

I noticed (twice on my first day of Sonos customer - my first Move arrived yesterday) that eventually I can’t talk to Alexa, she wouldn’t reply.I have come up with the following workaround: click the Bluetooth button to activate Bluetooth click the Bluetooth button again to deactivate itSounds familiar to anyone?Wi-Fi coverage is good. Can use music with Spotify just fine on the Move. It’s just Alexa 

There should be a choice of voice assistant as now Alexa has been added as a main assistant my google product will not work with them????? Is there a by pass will Alexa be forced to work my google products when asked? Whole range of speakers have now just been made useless to others who cannot stand Alexa. I use both systems and find it annoying they wont work with each others products 

HiAnyone successful in getting the Port’s 12V trigger to work with Alexa ?   It works fine with S2 app, but if I want to start music using Alexa the digital starts streaming but the amp does not turn on.  Any ideas/suggestions.  If not, how do I report a bug?

I have a new Bose Smart Speaker that can use either Alexa or Google Assist. I am getting two Sonos soundbars and several speakers installed this Saturday. Can my Smart Speaker connect with the Sonos equipment I am getting?

Few months ago I was able to play Kindle books in my Sonos SL paired as stereo, not sure what happened that now its not possible, I tried resetting both speakers to factory settings and configuring them again but no luck. Does anyone has experienced this or know how could this be solved? 

I saw in the Alexa app there is a Sounds option in the app to turn on sounds before and after the commands. They are both off but yet she still bloops. Any way to make this work in with my One?

Is there a way to test if mic is working?Mic light is on; Sonos settings show Alexa connected; Alexa app shows Sonos skill active but Alexa doesn’t respond.

Hi,My sonos system comprises of two Symfonisks as a stereo pair, a play 3, play 1 and two play 5s.  The Symfonisks were in a kitchen group with the dot and were set as the default player for that room. When I asked alexa to play some music it would say “playing x on amazon music on sonos”  and then play the music on the stereo pair. I could also ask Alexa to play music on one of the other players.   I started getting issues where Alexa would say “playing x on amazon music on sonos” but nothing would happen. I`ve deleted all the sonos devices (and rooms I had set up) from the Alexa app and disabled the skill.  Then forced closed both the sonos app and the alexa app. The first peculiarity is when I enable the sonos app again and link it is that Alex discovers the players and adds them plus creates groups for each of the players. Has it always done that?  However, I cannot seem to get back to the point where I can create a kitchen group and have my stereo pa
