Amazon Alexa and Sonos

I have a sonos one that I have been using with Alexa but now that the service is starting in Australia my account has been migrated and I have lost all my skills in order to get them back I need to set the language to English Australia thesis need o be bone in the sonnos app do you know when voice services will be made available in Australia so I can change the setting

Hi, a quick question: I have 3 Sonos speakers in my living room. (2 Sonos Play 1s and a sub.) That group is called "Living Room." I have an Amazon Echo in my kitchen. Is there any way I can join everything and create a "Whole House" group, essentially add the Echo to what I already have? I see lots of posts about adding Sonos to Alexa's functionality, but not the other way around--just adding Alexa to my existing Sonos situation. Thanks!

Plex Media Server is really stepping up the game on feature sets and things it can do. Sonos is not yet up to speed, and although, being in IT myself, I understand the task at hand in creating code, but when will Sonos be up to speed on having the Alexa skills (Not just the Plex skill) available to the SONOS hardware? I understand the PLEX module in the Sonos player is still in beta, and its been like that for well over the amount of time that I have been a customer of Sonos. It works fine for me personally, so I may or may not be seeing some of the problems people are having with it. Many times these collaborative efforts by two or more companies coming together to create a product or add features take longer then initially thought. That could be weeks or sometimes months, but when does the wait become to long? Customers want to invest in products that are quality, and Sonos certainly is that for me. I have a Sonos Play One and a Connect Amp connected to a pair of Bowers and Wilkins speakers which has been working great. I have recently got an Echo Dot which I want to use with my Connect Amp so I have connected the Echo Dot to the Connect Amp using the Line In connector on the Amp. This works great on both my Play 1 in the kitchen and the Connect Amp in the lounge when I say for example... Alexa, open Heart 80's - It comes on at the correct volume on all speakers. The problem is Alexa (Herself???) as this volume is incredibly low and most of the time you can't actually figure out what she is saying to start with and then the volume goes REALLY loud. I know part of the Alexa skill is to cut the Sonos volume so that Alexa can hear the promt but does there need to be a check box in the settings to ask if you are connected via the Line In and not cut the volume for Alexa. Ducking- Hi is there any signs of a resolution to the ducking problem as it is really annoying. Got three Echo dots for me and the kids for Christmas adnd someone is forever asking alexa a question and everyone else's experience of Sonos is affected. Please help soon otherwise it is going in the cupboard until sorted!

I had some trouble with my Sonos setup a couple of days ago that required some troubleshooting. I have two sonos ones acting as surrounds to my playbar and sub in the living room. When I was troubleshooting I removed the surrounds and tested them as individual speakers and also as a stereo pair. When doing this, I had to give a name to the stereo pair and the two individual speakers. At some point, I also changed the name of the Living Room to TV Room thinking the issue may have been caused by a naming conflict. After my issue was resolved, I added the surrounds back to my living room setup where they will remain. Now, in the alexa app the names for my stereo pair and individual speakers still remain even though they are not in use. I now have 4 device names on the alexa app that are not in use. I understand that I will have my group name which is now Living Room and my two Sonos devices which are now labeled Sonos One Left and Sonos One Right. However, I also have devices named TV Roo

Hi. One of my favorite streams is a listener-supported station called Folk Alley, https://www.folkalley.com/. I have been listening to their stream on TuneIn for quite some time. However, they have recently added a "member stream" for people who have donated money to support their operation. If you listen to the member stream, you do not have to listen to their asking for money during pledge drives. So I made the required contribution. I can get the member stream via their web page, but I emailed Folk Alley and asked them if it is possible for me to listen to that stream using my Sonos One with built-in Alexa. They responded that they have an Alexa skill! I was excited about that, and added the skill. But when I try "Alexa, play Folk Alley" I just get the response "Sorry, I'm having trouble accessing your Folk Alley skill right now." Now I am realizing that this may not be possible, unless Sonos adds the Folk Alley skill to their list of streaming sources in the US. Is thi

Hi, firstly the sound quality is great, no issues there, however I do feel I have been missold this product! I purchase this with the sole purpose Upgrading the sound quality on an amazon echo device as this has eledgedly got echo functionality built in. This does not have anywhere close to the functionality of an echo device. I am gutted as this was the reason for the purchase. I have made the mistake of waiting in the hope the functionality will be added, it clearly won’t be, most probably down to Amazon, but it’s not the point. You can’t use any of the multi room functionality, you can’t drop in, you can’t make calls you can’t announce, basically all you can do is ask it to play music!. This has not even go a line in so you can add an echo dot to give full functionality. This has been a complete waste of money for me and had I known this I would not have purchased. Hi, I can set an alarm with the sonos app that gives me an option of what music to play however when that alarm goes off I am unable to use Alexa to snooze it. Does Alexa give the option to choose different music streams at this time or is this only available thru the sonos app? If the alarm is set they Alexa on Sonos One it only uses a chime

I'd expected that Sonos would have timed their Australian release to Amazon's but apparently not. No ETA from what I can see either. Has the community found any workarounds?

My son has an Echo Dot and is able to control Phillips Hue bulbs through Alexa. Can I use them with my Sonos 1 speaker since it has Alexa? Would I need anything else except for the bulbs? I searched the forum for Phillips Hue bulbs but found nothing on the topic. /thanks

Hi all, I have seen a few topics where people are commenting that they are having trouble giving commands to their Sonos One player via Alexa but I'm finding the microphone is too sensitive and it is chiming constantly when we are talking nearby without even using the wake word. Is there any way to adjust sensitivity (I don't think there is but thought it wouldn't hurt to ask). Also, is there any way to change the wake work like on the Echo? My other half is called Alex and it would be better to have a different wake work (we use Echo on the Amazon Echo Dot we have). Thanks.

Hi, I currently have 2 Sonos play 1s in different rooms accessing Apple Music for content. Is there a way of getting voice control with this setup? Do I need to upgrade a play 1 to a Sonos One? Or could I just get an Alexa dot? Will it all work ok with Apple Music?

I can't get Alexa and Sonos to sync up. I bought the new Sonos one and tried going through the setup. Alexa says hello on the Sonos but when I say discover my devices I get "I can't find any devices - go to the alexa app and enable that skill. I do that and then click add device (all my other stuff is in the app) but no joy, very frustrating. I ran a diagnostic report (8053297)

I got my Sonos One about 2 weeks ago and everything worked fine for a few days then all of a sudden silence. Alexa no longer works on the speaker. Disabled it then reenabled it to no avail...HELP!!

Hi Using the BBC radio stations from Tunein has stopped working. If I say, for example, "Play Radio four" it replies playing "Playing BBC Radio 4 from Tunein on (Front Room)". Then silence. On all my Sonos speakers. Other radio stations from Tunein work. If I just use my Echo Dot it works. Though I suspect Amazon are not using Tunein? I am not sure. I can play Radio 4 through the Sonos app on my mobile phone. Music works. From Spotify. Tunein directly works on my PC. I have tried switching my router off and on again. I have switched my Sonos speaker off and on again. I have Disabled and Enabled the Sonos skill. Not working. Anybody got any suggestions?

Hi, I’ve just purchased a Playbase and totally happy the performance. The only thing I’m less impressed with is the connection to my TV remote. Does anybody know whether the TV volume can be adjusted using voice control via Amazon Alexa? I’ve got several Echo Dots around the house that work faultlessly with my Play 1, Play 3 and Play 5 speakers. Thanks.

Has anyone had any luck in having Alexa access their Nest thermostat, or any other smart devices? I have the skills added and linked, but Alexa cannot find my nest thermostats, iHome smart plugs, or Arlo Pro cameras. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to set up a routine on Sonos one through Alexa app it seems to control the lighting but will not give me audio response? Why is this?

For Christmas, I bought an Alexa Dot off Amazon Canada for the main purpose of voice control of our Sonos system. The description said it supported this. I would not have purchased Alexa if I knew this was, in fact, not the case in Canada. I'm very disappointed. When will the Sonos skill be available in Canada?

So I turned on follow-up mode on my sonos one and now it has gone crazy. After I issue a command it goes “bong” bong bong bong bong etc continuously. Unplugged and plugged in and it kept doing it. Turned off follow-up mode for now which seems to have solved the problem. Any one else see this?

I have music playing on my sonos via the sonos app. But sometimes when i ask alexa to play it will say hmm. you''ll have to enable the skill, but yet if i then go into the actual sonos app and press play it works. why does alexa not always play and pause when i ask it, even if music is showing as paused on the app?
