Cannot verify music services on Alexa

I've been trying to set up my sonos one all day! Sonos is showing as enabled on the Alexa app, Amazon showing as linked on the sonos app (so I can select music via browsing), but I cannot use alexa to request songs: when requesting songs I'm directed to enable sonos in the alexa app. Alexa will work for general requests eg weather. Where am I going wrong?! This is driving me crazy ?

    I've set up Alexa but this happens to me frequently. I usually solve it by going to Sonos app -> More -> Voice Services -> Amazon Alexa -> View Alexa Setup -> Verify music services on Alexa -> Go to Alexa app -> Choose default music services -> ->Done. Then go back to Sonos app and tell Alexa to play something.
