Advanced Setups

Hello Sonos Community! This is my first post to this forum and I hope you can help. I’m trying to figure out my best next upgrade. I mostly use my Sonos and audio set up for listening to vinyl records. It’s a somewhat entry-level set up and sounds good. But now that I’ve built up my vinyl collection, I feel like I”m at a point where I’d like to upgrade but I’m not sure where I should invest. Here are my specs:Turntable: Audio-Technica AT-LP60X Receiver: Marantz SR-48mk Sonos equipment: Connect - connected to receiver and turntable (Two) Play:5 (Gen 1) - set up in stereo in the living room Play:3 - set up on the other side of the living room One - set up in kitchen  Other speakers: Bose 201 Series III - set up on dinning room, which is in between living room and kitchen,. Connected to Receiver. What’s my best next upgrade? Will upgrading the Sonos Amp make a significant difference? Or should I invest elsewhere? Thanks!

Moderator note: Newer Sonos products do support Bluetooth. Please see our support article Use Bluetooth on Sonos for more information. Hello - I have installed sonos system with amp and ceiling speakers and i want to be able to connect via Bluetooth instead of streaming over wifi

Hi,I am designing a system incorporating the Sonos Port to a Background Music System. I have searched for technical documents online and unfortunately cannot find the answer I am looking for. My question is: Can I connected Sonos port to a network switch (corporate LAN) and users can connect to Wireless Access points in various rooms? The system will consist of multiple Sonos Ports installed with in the AV rack and to be designated to be used for particular areas with in the building. How can users differentiate which port to connect in any given area? Can we rename each device dedicated to each area or can we hide other Ports and only show Ports for that particular area? As to LAN security, what thing should be considered during setup? Can you please provide configuration documents and other manuals? Thanks RegardsBH

Hello,I’d like to raise an issue that I’ve encountered on iOS 16.6. Indeed, the music used to cut off after a random time (circa 15 min). After rolling back my phone on iOS 16.5, I can (finally) play music with no interruption. My current set up is a beam (gen 2), 2x play 1 and 1 sub mini.Last detail: As a “workaround”, removing the sub mini from my Sonos set up enabled the system to work again on 16.6…

HiIs anyone in the UK who has a BT Smart Hub 2 having any issues with speakers disappearing or showing as not connected in the app? I’m having this issue lately both on my Android phone and iPad. I noticed the BT hub had an update at the end of June so don’t know if BT have messed it up again. My SonosNet speakers are fine and if my wifi speakers connect to the Wi-Fi disc on my landing they are fine in the app. If and when any show as not connected in the app, I know they are actually connected though, as if any music was queued on them, I can still manually press the play button and they will play. So it seems like a communication issue between the app and the router. Very frustrating indeed.

https://developer.sonos.com is down, complains about a DNS issue. In the USA if that matters.

Have 2 Sonos Ones that have worked well wirelessly for years. I have some devices in my house I prefer to hardwire and need more ports so added a network switch to the router. Now the speakers don’t work/connect. The Sonos speakers are the only wireless devices in the house that don’t work now. Spent over an hour on phone with Sonos, restarting, removing, reconnecting, etc. No success and they were unable to help me. Said to call my internet provider for help configuring the router settings (who wants to charge for support with no guarantee of success).Any suggestions for how to configure router settings?

Hello,Do you know if the router Technicolor CGA4236 should be compatible with Sonos? When I add an ethernet switch and connect a Sonos device to it the connection is disconnected. Thank you in advance. Kind regards,Martin

Question: Do I need “high end” wifi infrastructure for 21+ players? Background:I’ve been a Sonos advocate and avid user since the ZP-80 was launched in the UK.  I now have 21players spread across an old four-bedroomed property playing mostly streaming services and line-in from a turntable.I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve switched between wired+sonos net and wi-fi installations.  Neither has been particularly stable with players regularly disappearing, playback dropping out, long pauses adding players to groups etc.A few years ago I settled on a wi-fi setup as I’d rolled out a BT Whole Home wi-fi extender setup and had good wi-fi coverage in every room and a large chunk of the garden.  Certainly everywhere I have a Sonos player.  (Also, it’s not practical to wire more than two Sonos players without the kind of upheaval I’m not really up for). All players report “Good” or “Excellent” wifi connectivity in the Sonos app.  The BT Wi-Fi discs are connected to a TP-Link Archer VR280

I have Sonos and it is on its own network yet guests are now accessing my system from the guest network. If they are on Wi-Fi they can access my Sonos system. This is new and something I can’t figure out how to fix.  any help is appreciated. I have a netgear orbi system.

BonjourJ'ai 3 sonos era100Je veux diffuser en bluetooth sur les 3 mais je ne peux pas grouper les 3.Comment faire ? Merci

My samsung phone and the Sonos system is on the same network but won't connect. A router restart will fix i but only until the next day / or if i leave and come back. Once i restart the router everything i fine, but only temporary. Ant good Ideas? Is it the phone or.router?

Hello,I have a Sonos/Sonance Indoor/Outdoor setup consisting of:Living Room - Sonance In-Ceiling Speakers + Sonos Arc Soundbar + Sonos Sub + Sonos Amp Kitchen - Sonance In-Ceiling Speakers + Sonos Amp Backyard - Sonance Garden Series 8.1 System w/ SR 2-125 AmpI have a Russound Speaker Selector and Sonos Port which allow me to combine all of the above to play the same audio in any combination (or different audio through different sources). We have an outdoor television which we would like the ability to run audio through the (SGA) Sonance Garden Series (even if we can’t tie it to the other Sonance In-Ceiling or Sonos Arc Soundbar), but have run into a number of issues. 1st off, utilizing the RCA connections and an adapter which shows on the Sonos app as a “Line-In” connection, the latency is unbearable (even after maxing out the adjustment on the TV), and when connecting it to the Sonos Port, there can only be one input connected at a time, making it impossible to toggle between the SGA

I’m not particularly tech savvy so apologies in advance for any confusion on my part.  I have a Netgear Orbi router with two different RBS50 satellites in my home, as well as several Sonos speakers throughout the house and a connect AMP that is wired to outdoor speakers on my back patio.  I recently set up an Orbi outdoor satellite to enhance my wifi signal outside.  At first, everything worked swimmingly and I had no issues connecting to my Sonos system while outside. However, I recently had to restart my modem + router, and ever since then the Sonos app cannot detect my system when I am outside.  I am still getting perfect wifi signal (which I assume is due to the outdoor satellite I added) but for whatever reason my Sonos system cannot be found.  Or, on occasion, it finds a couple of the indoor speakers but cannot find others, including the Connect AMP (which is particularly frustrating because that is what powers my outdoor speakers, as I noted above).  Any help in getting this iss

I would like to add additional sonos products that will allow audio output in my fitness room. Currently my setup includes arc, sub 3, 2 era 300 speakers and an port in the family room. I would like to tie in an sonos speaker and/or soundbar or other product that will allow me to play the audio from my treadmill and rower. Also to play audio from the TV and DVD player. All while being connected to the main sonos system. What would be the sonos product or products that can cover my fitness room needs. Thank you

I have a projector (want to coonect to a chromecast) and a TV (want to connect to an android box) and I want to be able to watch both at the same tine but be able to choose which plays audio through a Sonos Beam - I plan on connecting Bluetooth headphones to the other. I may want the sonos audio to play on one or other device depending on what is on at the time. So I have two separate hdmi cables (one from the chromecast and the other from the android box ) and then have an hdmi audio extractor with multiple inputs and one output that I can use to connect either the TV setup or projector setup to the beam. However, as there is only one output this set up doesn't work for connecting both devices to the Sonos and being able to switch between them... Any ideas? Many thanks

I listen to music probably 80% of the time, compare to 20% watching movies or streaming video, and just trying to figure out the best way to setup my den.  I know this community has better solutions than me so I’m here asking for your thoughts and help.Current Setup:ARC + Sub-Mini (for movies)Sonos Ones Gen 1 (music only)Sonos Amp (that I haven’t hooked up and had for about 16 months till in the box)75” SamsungGen 3 Sub arrives tomorrow and my ERA 300s next week.  This setup got delayed and I should have disconnected all the Russound equipment when I bought the ARC and at least used the Sonos Amp to drive 4 speakers. Was planning to use the Sonos Amp to drive two Jamo in one wall di-pole speakers (Model SU631K4). Currently the room as no surrond speakers as I starting removing all Russound configured devices, the 7.1 Integra Stero, and all the rack mounted items which are all idle along with the Klipsch speakers in the built in cabinet. The five non-sonos speakers in this room are all

I’ve just gotten my dad’s old music setup and am really excited to get it all set up. He’s passed along his turntable and amp, both just over 20 years old and in great condition. The only thing I don’t have is a speaker. I’m looking to get started with the Sonos Era 300, but I wanted to see how people connect their older devices to current Sonos products. Currently, I’m thinking it’s: connect the turntable to the amp, connect the amp to my analog-to-digital converter, and connect the converter to the Sonos speaker. Is there something I’m missing? I’m really not looking to replace anything; I just want to be sure I have the right pieces to press play and enjoy some music.

Hello! My outdoor space has an amp and 4 Sonos architectural/outdoor speakers installed.  I really need just one more speaker, but 6 would be too much (from a visual/ symmetry perspective)  I know an amp can drive 6 architectural / Sonos speakers, but what happens if I only plug in 5? Does that create an imbalance issue with the ohm load? Thanks!

Hi. I have an Arc, Sub and 2 One surrounds.  Sometimes when watching TV I am in my kitchen and would like to know if I can add another speaker that would play the entire audio track so that I can hear the sound from what is on TV better without having to turn up the overall volume too much. Thanks!Marc

I was an early Sonos adopter and have a perfectly functioning system including a number of original Play 5 devices. As a result, I have never upgraded to the S2 operating system. I would now very much like to buy a Beam Gen2, but see that that requires S2.  However, having set the beam up, i hope that I would actually need to control it with anything other than the to standard remote control.  considering this, is it possible to continue running my S1 system in the house, but set up the beam to run independently as a to speaker only?Thank in advance of any advice you can provide..

I am planning to get sonos speakers for outdoor area. I have a pool area and garden at a total of 5-7000 sqft. I was planning to get 1 amp with 3 pairs of sonos architectural sonance outdoor speakers and a 6.1 sonance garden series with sonos amp.  how should I calculate if that is enough or not? Is there a thumb rule to calculate?

Seriously, 400 MB, according to speed tests. I am getting gigabyte scale fiber optic Internet from CenturyLink, but the huge draw of the Sonos system is causing dropout when the fiber bandwidth dips.System: 4 sonos 1s, 2 sonos 5s, 1 sonos move. Streaming mp3s from Airplay on my Mac Mini M1 desktop. The Internet suggested changing the Wi-Fi channel that the Sonos operates on, but in my android control app, it only lists one channel (11), and there's no option to change it.What is going on here?

Does anyone have a solid recommendation for a multi-device universal remote that works well with Sonos?I’ve used the Logitech Harmony Remote and Hub to control my AV products and Sonos for many years. It’s a great system. Recently, the remote stopped sending commands consistently to Sonos and Logitech has announced that they have discontinued Harmony, so updates and support will trail off. I’m done trying to get this to work correctly.
