Advanced setups

Hey There, I'm looking to get my Turntables to work with my Sonos connect. Currently, I have 2 turntables plugged into a mixer, and then my mixer plugs into my tuner that work with my home speakers. I have my Sonos Connect plugged into my Tuner, so I can hear music (via the Sonos app) on my home speakers and my Sonos Speakers, but I'm wondering if there's a way I can get both turntables to also play on my Sonos Speakers? I've recently moved homes and am trying to get my Sonos setup more reliable. 4000 sq.ft. house with one connect:amp, a newer amp, one connect, 3 play:1's and a play:3. Was hard wiring as much as possible into my LAN, but found that Sonos and Ubiquiti can be a bit troublesome to setup. Based on feedback, when to full Sonosnet setup with a boost the only item connected/hardwired to a UB managed switch. Results are definitely better, but i still get drop outs especially when connecting more than 3 speakers, etc. my question is that if adding an additional Boost might help. 3 floors... i have the new AMP on the top floor, the boost on the middle floor, and am thinking about adding another boost on the lower floor (where the connect:amp is). will this help at all?

We would like to offer Sonos to guests at our AirBnB. Is there a way to allow them control of the Connect: Amp, Playbar music services, but not have access to the system settings?

My tv currently only has two HDMI ports, one being HDMI-Arc. I bought a switch because I needed at least 3. The switch I purchased is below: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RZ5MC1D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Supposedly it supports HDMI-Arc. I have tried to read different posts that I could about this particular scenario that others may be experiencing, but could find no solution. The different combinations I've tried have given no luck. Every time i try to set up my tv again it says there's no signal for the HDMI-arc. I have tried with leaving the Sonos directly into my tv and Arc port, but sound won't come out of Sonos, due to my switch interrupting it. I have tried my Sonos hooked into my switch, while my switch is hooked up to the Arc port on my tv. Say's it can't find a signal when redoing tv set up I have tried my Sonos hooked into my switch, while I used the adapter that comes with the Sonos

Hi! There is a huge barrier, which we cannot avoid when we trying to set up ours new Sonos system with network environment Cisco. For the first time set up you need to receive Broadcast Handshake from Sonos speaker on your mobile device with Sonos app. But the WLC blocks broadcast from the wired side to the wireless device, and "Broadcast Forwarding: Enabled" in "Controller->General" doesn't help. When we are making first-time configuration of Sonos trough the different Wi-Fi (not Cisco WLC) and create new Sonos system it works properly independently which of the wifi networks uses. I recently moved to a new, larger home and started from scratch. I purchased the 3-node Linksys Velop system for Wifi coverage and have 5 Sonos units. I have seemingly very good Wifi coverage with all typical devices. I have had issues with the speakers not showing up occasionally in the controller app. When they do show up, I still have skipping of songs in the middle of them, etc. It will occasionally all work perfectly, then at times have trouble. I connected one of the speakers to one of the Velop nodes, but don't know if this really helps. I use Amazon Music, Apple Music, TuneIn Radio I hoped I wouldn't need a BOOST setup with the fancy, new, expensive Wifi system... Questions are: does connecting a single speaker to the node via Ethernet change how the other units work at all? Other tips/tricks? I've changed the channel from 1 to 6 without much change, will try 11 next... Should I just eat it and buy the BOOST?

Hi! Are there any known issues regarding iOS 13 beta 6? Today, the previously configured Apple music service claimed that it needs to be re-authorized. When i try to do so, I repeatedly end up with a message-box saying "we've ran into a problem. try again". I tried deleting the previously configured Apple music service, and re-add it afterwards, but unfortunately, that didn't work out. I know that beta versions of iOS are not supported with the Sonos app, but maybe there's a way to work around this issue that someone is aware of? I'm really enjoying using Roon together with Sonos. The main reason being being able to use the convolution filter option in Roon in which I've loaded a filter correcting my room "issues". I understand this is would be an advanced option, but I would really like if the Sonos app would add a feature to load convolution filters like Roon does. In that way also other inputs (TV) will be equalised.

Hello, We operate a small hotel.... with an aging in-cieling speaker system that basically plays from a 3.5mm cable at this point. We'd like to replace the amps with Sonos Amps... but am wondering how this would work from a guest perspective. Ideally, we'd be placing a tablet in the room (potentially with HomeSeer locked on it), but would like the flexibility for a guest to be able to connect to the wifi with their own device, and play music off of it, using whatever their preferred streaming service is. This is NOT a Sonos question; but I don't haunt other fora, and there may be some enthusiasts here that have an answer, hence I am seeing if I can get some advice here. I have a NAD amp of 2012 make, that has an amber light when on standby. When the on button is pressed, it takes a few seconds for the amber to turn green, and for the amp to play. All this, in silence. The fault I am seeing now is this: the light turns to green, and after a few seconds reverts to amber, with a very loud pop from the speakers. Obviously, the amp does not play then. Also, sometimes, this does not happen; the amp performs the way it always has. Questions therefore: What could be happening? What is the fix? Until the fix is in place, any risk in playing the amp, given that the speakers will pop for every failed attempt? Thanks for any insights.

Hello, I need help getting surround sound from my Steam Link to my SONOS Beam. My surround system includes a SONOS Beam paired with 2 SONOS Ones. My current setup is as follows - 1) My Samsung TV does not have ARC and it does not send surround sound out via Optical Digital Audio out (it will only send surround sound out for OTA signals). 2) I use a J Tech audio extractor (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BIQER0E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to separate audio from HDMI as Optical Digital Audio out and connect that to the Beam with the SONOS Optical Audio Adapter. This works perfectly for surround sound with my PS4, XBox One and Roku 3) The Steam Link (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steam_Link) will only send out 6 channel PC

I have a Sonos Play 1 that I bought back in 2013 (along with a Sonoso wireless bridge). I'd like to pair it with a Sonos One (Gen 2) AND I'd like to be able to bluetooth to it. Will this technically work? Where I pair the Gen 2 via bluetooth to my phone and I get stereo sound sound played through both the Sonos Play 1 and the Sonos One (Gen 2)?

I've recently added a Boost to my system -- is working well but two anomalies which I'm wondering about. http://10.0.0.xxx:1400/support/review works for all components in the system including the Boost except that I cannot get a Network Matrix if the IP address points to the Boost -- I get one everywhere else. http://10.0.0.xxx:1400/advconfig.htm -- works for every component except the Boost - get the too familiar Error 404... Curious - does this indicate an issue or a 'feature'? System has one Play:1, One Connect, Three Connect Amps plus the Boost. The Boost and one Connect Amp are hardwired to ethernet port, and all devices have the Wifi turned on. Thanks for any thoughts...

Hello, My Sharp TV supports HDMI-ARC. I connected the HDMI cable from the Beam HDMI port to the only port on my TV that is enabled for ARC. I also enabled in the TV menu the Aquos Link support and enabled ARC When setting up the Beam, the test CEC connection doesn’t pass. CEC is mentioned nowhere in the Sharp user manual. Please help, otherwise I’ll have to return the Beam. Using only Alexa or the Sonos phone app to control TV volume is not an option for me. Cheers

Scenario: I have an HDMI cable going from the HDMI ARC Port on my TV to my Sonos Beam to get sound through Sonos from my TV. I also have a record player (built in preamp) connected (with standard red and white RCA cables) to a Sonos Connect so that I can get the sound from the record player through the Sonos speakers. Will the speakers be able to play audio from the TV and the record player (not at the same time of course)? Or do the inputs need to be connected to the same Sonos piece? Hi, If I was to connect a Pioneer AVR with a Sonos connect amp and set it up properly - would I be able to use the Pioneer amp as a zone and an input to be shared with other zones in the house? For Example: If watching the football on the TV connect to the AVR, could I share the audio from the AVR to some outdoor wireless sonos speakers? Or does the Connect Amp + AVR Works with Sonos setup only turn the AVR into a Zone that can receiver music streams? Basically I want to make the theatre setup part of the multi-room set up completely by allowing it's inputs to be shared and have others shared with it. Thank you!

I live in 65 m2 apartment. I have recently upgraded my Wi-Fi from apple to google (3 stations) due to poor Sonos performance. (what I experience is fallouts / gaps in the music) First setup: apple Wi-Fi, station i apartment, wireless bridge to station in the basement. 2 x SONOS ONE in the apartment. 1 x Play:5 i basement. One SONOS ONE keeps falling out. I learned that apple discontinued the Wi-Fi products, so i decided to replace it all, with Google Wi-Fi. The Google Wi-Fi did nothing god to that situation. 2 stations in the apartment, one wired to the basement. I continued to experience poor performance, now all SONOS products had poor performance. I then added at BOOST in the apartment, that helped a lot, both speakers in the apartment keeps playing, no fall outs. BUT, now i have trouble in the basement, the PLAY:5 falls out a lot. As

How do I get two sonos amps to pair in stereo in the same room with one set of speakers connected to each and will there by a delay in audio? Thanks

Hi, I have a Play 5 from around 2013. Great speaker and has been reliably working for years until recently. I presumed it was some sort of software or wifi issue but it's not. The speaker looks like it is operating normally but will only play through the headphone jack. Apparently this is a common problem and I presume it's a bad cap or mosfet etc somewhere. Although I'm a fairly competent at board level repair, I don't have the skills to diagnose this. Can any one give me some pointers on where to be looking on the board or even better, what parts normally go wrong? I have the powerboard out and there is nothing obviously physically wrong. Thanks.

Hey all, I've got a Sonos Playbar mounted on the wall underneath my TV. I've also got a Sonos Sub separately. I was wondering if it's possible to adjust the bass level from the Playbar separately from the Sub. I've even be keen to turn off the Playbars bass entirely, and just have the Sub handling it. I currently use two Play 3's as Left and Right speakers for my TV, in uncompressed mode. These are fed by an analogue line from my AVR to a Connect. This introduces about 83ms of delay which I would like to reduce because it causes some lip sync problems. I know that the Playbar/Playbase etc can be bonded point-to-point over 5.8Ghz to Play 3's as surround speakers, and I understand that this has a lower latency. Is there any similar way that I can bond Play 3s or 5s as Front Left and Front Right to the new Sonos AMP with lower than c 83ms latency?

My TV is a Panasonic HD ready plasma from 2005. It’s a great TV, but does not have either HDMI ARC or an optical connection. I have a Beam and two play:1’s as surrounds. Until I upgrade the screen, the only way to send sound from my Apple TV is via airplay 2 to the Beam + surrounds. My question is: what audio formats does this setup support? (I.E. DD5.1, stereo only, mono etc) Thanks

Hi! Is there a way to connect my AirPlay 2 compatible tv (Samsung the frame tv) to directly stream audio to my sonos one speaker (without Beam/Playbar). If not, are there any cheap alternatives to buy instead of for example sonos beam to make this work? Best regards

Hi Guys my soundbar is hard wired to the internet and I was trying to connect an ethernet cable from the soundbar to the TV. Even though the TV displays the message that the network cable is detected, the internet is not working. Here is the error I am getting: Wired network connection failed Automatic IP setup failed, try the following to set up an IP address automatically. Or set up an IP address manually by selecting IP settings: Make sure the DHCP server is enabled on your wireless router and turn it off and on call your internet service provider for more information Thanks in advance. I am not a fan of wireless connections so trying to hardwire as many things as I can but got stuck with this one.

I am trying to develop my own app to play audioclips on my Sonos One (Gen1). I was able to generate the token for the authentication and correctly perform all the GET operations (e.g. https://api.ws.sonos.com/control/api/v1/groups/{groupID}/groupVolume) but not POST operations. All the posts return me a 500 Internal Server error without content. I am trying to perform this requests with Postman. Already tried to google my problem but the solutions I found implements a different protocol with node.js. Someone suggested to look for the requests made by the official application with wireshark but apparently it does communicate directly with the speaker (at its local IP address). Does anyone has the same problem?
