What to get

Hello all...looking in to buying the Sonos turntable and just wanting to know what I would need other than my speaker setup that I already have. My current setup is Beam, Sub, 3 1’s gen. 2 , roam and travel speakers.

Auriez-vous une idée pour ne pas avoir ce décalage ? (Qui me semble impossible à tolérer dans une session mix, car on agit sur la machine et entend la modification sur le son en temps réel). I already have a pair of Bronze Audio 50 speakers hooked up to my sonos amp with the hdmi arc connected to my TV. I’m considering picking up a central speaker, the BA C150. Is it possible to connect this to the amp also, and can anyone see a benefit to the setup or drawbacks?

I have two play 1 and one play 5 - all gen 1, and a bridge (gen 1).  I see no need to combine them with a sonos 2 on the same system, but I’d like to connect sonos to bluetooth headphones as a gift. I don’t think there is a way to do that with sonos gen 1. So buy a sonos 2, and use it in the same house, for this purpose? I know I could use a music streaming service right off the phone for this person, but I’m sure he wouldn’t want to run down his phone. thanks - 

Hi there I can’t seem to find a clear answer to this question.I have two rooms that I’d like to power with a single sonos amp.  Each room has two ceiling speakers that I'd like to replace with architectural ceiling speakers.  I realize only one audio output can be sent to all speakers, but can I ‘shut off’ individual architectural speakers, to only play the sound in one of the rooms?  I was hoping to set this up with airplay 2 and Apple Homekit to control the speakers of each room. Thanks

I am moving into a new house with a 7.1 prewire for ceiling speakers in the living room, two speakers in the kitchen, and two outside. I would like to be able to play music on all 3 zones or have 7.1 system playing whatever is on the TV while also playing music on the other 2 zones (if I can’t do this, it’s not a deal breaker, but I want to be able to play music on all 3 zones for sure). What is the best way to accomplish this with Sonos? All music will be the same source, but I don’t always want the music on each zone, so I’d like to choose which zone it plays on.These will be non sonos branded speakers if that matters. Do I buy a receiver/amp that can run multiple zones and then one Sonos port for all 11 speakers? I would like to queue music either with my phone, google home, or a Brilliant switch. Would this be possible without having to run over to a physical box somewhere and change an input? Thanks for the help!

Would anyone have advice on connecting the Steepletone ST918 turntable to the Sonos One speakers.It has Line Out (RCA) AND sub woofer out connections.  I have been researching online and think I could use the Sonos Port but I don't want to buy it unless I'm sure its worth it.  Any advice appreciated  

Can anyone please recommend a managed ethernet switch. I am struggling to connect more than one Sonos device at a time as I am getting a loop. I know only one needs to be plugged in but my router is upstairs and I would like to connect at least one of the downstairs devices to sure up the signal and need it to get to the garden room as it is a weak signal. I can get it to work if I was able to connect the kitchen play 5 which is the closest to the garden room.Thank you

I recently moved house to a place that has speaker in the ceilings throughout the downstairs. They are all wired through to a comms box. Do I need the Port or the Amp to set this up and will it allow me to play different music in each room or will it only allow one song to be played throughout?

Hi everyone.There is a lot of discussion around this and it sounds like my setup won’t work.  I’m new to Sonos, so I’d really like to go with Sonos, so I want to make sure this won’t work before moving on.My intention is to setup Sonos Amp for both my Samsung Frame TV and record player.  The room has 4 surround in-wall dumb speakers.  To make this cost effective, I’d like to keep these speakers and replace the other 2 pairs of ‘in ceiling’ speakers in the house with architectural speakers to play selectively digital music as different rooms.  I’d like to use the existing dumb ceiling speakers for my living room with the TV and record player.  Am I correcting in understanding that because I am setting up as surround for the TV, the amp could not be used to play vinyl out of the dumb surround speakers because the line in is disabled?As a workaround, could the second amp be used as the line in for the record player?  Could it then play the vinyl on the surround setup through the other amp

Hi,  I have a Sonos 5.1 setup. It’s Arc, Sub and two Play Ones. All in all I am very happy with it.  But my room is kinda big, 60 m2 with 5 meter ceiling.  Here’s the question: what would be the best upgrade: to get a second sub or replace the Ones with Fives? I should mention that I also use the system for music quite a lot, and have it set up so the Ones and the Sub are the most audible. I like listening to music in a 5.1 setup; you can sort walk around inside the soundfield rather than sit in a narrow sweetspot of stereo-speakers. (I have a very serious vinyl stereo-setup, that sounds better than Sonos (you know: tubes and preamps, poweramps and cables and phonostages, etc.) but I still use Sonos for 80% of my music listening).  Hope this makes sense. Thanks

I’m currently planning on buying another Sonos Move, as I am very satisfied with the sound quality.With the goals of being able to use it anywhere I can (portable) and having the best sound possible, should I wait for a new edition of Sonos Move? Or maybe consider a different model I’m not aware of?Wait for a new edition or not to wait? Any news on when it may come?

Hi,I have never owned any Sonos stuff before and was looking at buying some for home cinema experience. I have SkyQ with Sony TV and was going to buy a beam or Arc but then read all the stories about lip sync issues with Sky. If spending that much I just want something that will just plug in and works.Does everyone have lip sync issues or is it only the exception?Thanks   

I can buy a Sonos Arc sub - Gen 1 for $400 Canadian versus a new sub Gen 3 for over $1000 Canadian after tax.From what I understand the Sub Gen 1 will work with the Sonos Arc and will work with Sonos app S2 system.   Obviously there have been changes but from what I have been able to learn, maybe the changes are not too significant.What would you do?

I have a very old analog turntable with a preamp and an old Panasonic “smart” TV that has NO Bluetooth (yes it’s old). I want to be able to both connect the turntable and stream sound from the TV to a Sonos speaker system. Can anyone make suggestions?

I have a first gen Beam connected to my LG OLED via ARC. I also have generation 1 One in my dining room that doesn’t get used much. I only use the TV and internal apps, no other HT gear.  I’m thinking about using the One in a HT setup with the Beam. I’m not bothered about a sub at this point, the beam and One have adequate bass for now, but might do later.  Is this a good idea?What do I need and what should I buy? Another One Gen 1, gen 2 or SL?  Would an Ikea Sonos speaker work, or would it need to be paired with another speaker the same? Hello 👋🏻My NAS from 2011 (ReadyNAS NV+) died recently. I will be buying a new NAS but have not chosen a brand yet. My entire Sonos system (Play 5s, Connect, Bridge, and Beam) is S1 controlled. Would a new, more modern NAS work with S1? I don’t plan on buying new speakers yet (though tempted, but one project at a time). Anything particular I should consider when choosing a new NAS? Hi folks Ling time Sonos user. First post ever. Appreciate any input/feedback/opinions. Thinking best response wins a $20 Amazon gift card. Lol Trying to get other opinions on possibly setup ideas and placing what speakers where. WiFi connectivity is not a problem in any room. Below is what I have currently: The main tv (living room area) is about the only thing set with arc, sub, and 2 new symphonics just bought today for surround to free up Ones elsewhere. After that trying to figure what to place where in regards to larger attached area (dining room) off the main tv/arc and the 2 bedrooms (master and guest ) along with back porch/sunroom where I’ve been using the Move. Here are some pics and room sizes Room where arc, sub gen 3 , and symphonics are is pretty set (living room). Hello there everyone About two years ago a wonderful relative of mine bought me a Sonos One (the one with the voice assistant built-in). I’ve absolutely loved it, especially as being a student I’ve moved to a bunch of different places in the meantime. Its small size and wifi functionality makes it easy to move around. I also have an ear condition which makes using earphones and headphones for longer than an hour extremely painful, so having a great quality speaker I can play from my Mac/iPad/iPhone and really enjoy my music has been a joy.But I’m wondering what the logical next step is in this setup. I don’t have a high income of course as a student, so what would be the best Sonos product to get to take listening to music to the next level? Would it be simply another Sonos One to go for a ‘stereo’ setup? Or is it better to just try and save up and scrape together the money for maybe a Sonos Five? Looking to install two 65” TV’s side by side on the wall in basement. Using the two separate TV’s for 2 sports events, video game streaming w/ sports on other tv, etc.  Has anyone found a good 3rd party switch that will allow you to toggle the audio back and forth depending on which TV you would like to play through use of a single Arc? I’d like to buy a single Arc for the basement and have the ability to toggle audio back and forth. Other option will be just buy two Beam’s and have them mounted under each TV. Thanks!
